Ya Rabb send prayers, peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the medicine of hearts and their treatment, the soundness of bodies and their cure, the light of vision and it's illumination, the spirit of all spirits and the secret of their endurance.

Why does the beloved Shaykh (may Allah ﷻ preserve him) often seem to flinch? An example of this is when he suddenly and harshly closes his eyes. I'm a bit concerned for him. May Allah ﷻ grant him the best of abodes.

Asalaamualaykum akhi, If you read in the seerah, sometimes the sahabah, who are like mountains in strength and resolve, would react with unordinary movements or words out of a strong state of their heart. Then this phenomena increased many fold during the time of the salaf, who would even die out of strong states of heart listening to the likes of Syedna Ali (R) or those after. My teacher said the phenomena increased in the salaf's time because there hearts were not as strong as the sahaba, so sometimes they would even die out of love or fear when seeing the Kabba or during the talks of Sahaba and Ulema after them. So our blessed Shaykh Habib Umar must be experiencing strong states of heart that often cause some awliya to move or blink or breath in unordinary ways. May Allah grant us our portion of beautiful states of heart that would please Him. And Allah knows best.
