Strangest - definitely the donut w/ ants Best - without a doubt the rave dinosaur 😊

There's so many! Like those ones of meat in polystyrene trays like at the supermarket...! 😂

While a melting turtle is pretty odd, I'd say the strangest is Phil's (I'd love to see the brainstorming session for things like this!), and the best is Amy's. Really, who wouldn't want a rave dinosaur?!

Looking at the characters I think you're right! Looks like they have an extra purpose (they open up) but I can't tell what!

Question, why do you think gachapon has increasingly became popular? I would think people would just have too much of them and just stuff them inside the junk drawer at home. Do people hang them on the wall or something that I don't known of

There's no hidden purpose! :-) I think they're popular because they're fun and cheap. I've noticed a big increase in the number of shops with nothing but gachapon, which I think is due to the increase in tourism, and how those shops are low cost and easy to run. I do often wonder though, about the amount of collectibles in Japan vs people having small houses/apartments.

This was lots of fun! The strangest was Phil's ant-food (I would've totally picked the puking statues 😁). Cutest was the SG rave dinosaur!

..i wish i saw this video earlier..the best was the "glowing/rave" gachapon..the strangest is definitely the food with ants..but if the hamster on a toadstool or mushroom is the cutest..

Amy definitely had the best! That light up one is SO cute! Phil, however, won the strangest with those ants!

Phil's ants on food was the strangest but Amy's light up gacha was the best pick. If you had of managed to get the animal statue vomiting gacha Amy that would have gotten the strangest win for me

Mine were the light up Sumikko Gurashi character (Tokage) and the melty turtle. Sumikko Gurashi are so cute! :-)

The strangest one is the donut with ants! 🐜 It cracks me up! The best one may be the Sumikko gurashi one just because all those characters are adorable. It lighting up doesn't hurt either!

Japan is great BECAUSE it's strange and cute. Only adds to it's unique-ness. So glad I am going later this year, FINALLY! As for the winners... Phil's hamster-shroom was pretty cute, but I think Amy's Dino-light was adorable and it changes colours. Phill's donut ant combo was interesting, but I felt like it wasn't that "strange". Amy's melting turtle is pretty bizarre, after all, it's a melting turtle vs a food item with ants on it. If there was more time and maybe Phil read Japanese, etc. Then he could have won!
