Akash is a lethal state of the art air defense system. It can shoot down fighter jets cruise missiles, helicopters, rpa's with exceptional accuracy. And I am sure it can kill any 5th generation fighter jet. Akash can also be used as final line of defense in case our anti icbm system fails to intercept an incomming ballistic missile. Recently akash intercepted a very advanced Israel spice 2000 at very low altitude even without a seeker with remarkable precision. Akash is an all weather all terrain simultaneous multi target handling system. akash air defense system is not vulnerable against Electronic Counter-Measures. Its maximum speed is up to 3.0 Mach and it can engage targets at altitudes ranging from 0.5 to 18km. Guidance is through the ground-based ‘Rajendra’ radar which can track targets from 80km and engage from 30km. It uses a highly advanced throtabble ram jet engine. It can track 64 targets simultaneously and engage 12 targets. I am telling u this becuase all of Indian army and airforce bases and other senstive installations is protected by the state of the art akash air defense system. Akash can be fired from both mobile and static platform. Our border with china has been sealed using akash air defense ststem. Its not that without s400 we were vulnerable. Our skies were already really well protected. Akash makes enemy fighter pilots piss in their pants. As they know what awaits them if they try to voilate our airspace. Just a few days back all trials of drdos quick reaction surface to air missile system has been sucessfuly completed. Our qr sam has a speed processing gate array chip that aquires the ariel target in 1000 part of a second and kills it the moment it reaches its strike range. By 2021 our state of the art qr sam will start replacing all foreign qr sams. The development of our xr long range sam will be completed within 3 years or so. Most importantly all of the above systems are ready for network centric warfare. Drdo has made India self reliant by creating advanced technologies in area of missile technology, radars, electronic warfare systems, sonars, displays and guns. We can build our own nuclear submarine and equip it with state of the art delivery systems. Drdo always underplays capabilities of its state of the art weapon systems. Take for instanc the recent rest of K4 slbm. K4 is a boost glide weapon with mirv. The warheads are with hypersonic glide vehicles with propulsion and stealth. Highly maneuverable. The range with 3000kg warhead is more than 4000kms. And with 70% warhead it can easily go upto atleast 7000kms. K4 is a nightmare for china as china doesnt have an anti icbm defense system like India. The Arihant class submarine from which this missile will be launched are equipped with 7 silos with multiple missiles per silo like the usa ohio class. China doesnt even have an anti icbm defense system like India. India has already demonstrated sucessful interception of an incomming ballastic missile at an altitutde of 120 kms with a direct hit. Our anti icbm defense system is capable of both terminal and mid course interception. Not to forget our icbm be it agni 5 whos actual range is 10000kms and k4 their cep is in single digit. Our missile systems and other technologies are a nightmare for any aggressive nation on this planet. They have to think 10000 times before attempting any misadventure agianst India. Chienese weapons are expensive paper weights copied from russia. While russian weapons are third grade but cheap. Drdo has already tested a 250kw laser weapon and it is taking it to even more advanced stage. India deployed its laser weapon to protect trump during his India visit. Chiense are propaganda specialist who havent won even a single war either at land air or sea. While Indian armed forces have the most decorated post world war 2 millitary history.

Only tree f16 s entered & when Indian air deffence system retaliate they flew back.one fighter came 3 kilometers in .that was shot down by mig 21.actually they were not in the range of air deffence systems.

These SAMs range are to protect the air bases not the whole country. Their range is not that long, though once we get s400 range will significantly increase. But still mostly SAMs are to protect the air bases from enemy air raids.

You are supposed to fire it head-on, not chasing a fighter. An incoming fighter will have to jettison bombs and manoeuvre, thereby rendering its mission useless.
