This scene always comes to mind when there are people who say Akainu > WB and Akainu > Garp. "They're old men, they would lose". First off... consider that there's a reason they're old men. Second off, Akainu was only able to damage WB because of these lead up factors. - WB was deathly sick before the battle - WB is of course, very old - WB was already severely wounded And despite these facts, Akainu still had to use cheap shots to wound WB. Then these people say, "Fine... but Akainu > Garp" and I say... Roger and WB were rivals, we've seen they were basically even. And Garp was Roger's Marine Rival. Garp was 1 of only 2 Marines who could go face to face with Roger, therefore WB. The other was Sengoku. So no, Akainu And then there's Akainu > Shanks... this one is the most plausible since we don't exactly know how strong Shanks is... except for one scene. The scene where Shanks and WB traded a blow and split the sky. So it's 100% not outside the realm of possibility... that Shanks is as strong as WB. Why? Because they matched blows. But the greatest mystery? Why are there people defending Akainu? He's literally the Danzo of One Piece

Now keep in mind; Mihawks title is not evidence that he is > Akainu. After all Akainu is not a swordsman; he's a different category of a fighter. Also let's not downplay how strong Akainu really is; he didn't become Fleet Admiral, the height of Naval Power, just out of pkain luck. We know that there's a high likelihood that he is an awakened devil fruit user, based on the results of his battle with Aokiji on Punk Hazard; 1 half volcano Is lkand, 1 half Frozen Island. And awakened users are no joke, able to turn everything around them to their fruits power. So we now know Akainu has the ability to essentially destroy an Island. So then... what about Mihawk? In the Stampede movie he minced up a meteor that Fujitora sent at Zoro... but the mobies aren't canon, so we can't base it off that. The largest form of destruction we've seen Mihawk demonstrate canon wise, was when he sliced the Frozen Tsunami at Marineford. But it's fair to say... that's an average day of work for him, since even Zoro could do that now (when he cut up Pica at Dressrosa). So it's perhaps fair to say that Mihawk can also destroy an Island if he wished. So now we have both Akainu and Mihawk capable of destroying Islands. But who would win? Sadly there's not enough info to declare a winner; so if Mihawk = Akainu at this stage... then Shanks = Akainu. And we don't actually know who was stronger; Mihawk or Shanks? If Shanks is stronger... then it may be fair to say Shanks > Akainu. But unfortunately... we know next to nothing about Shanks.

And the last time mihawk fought against shanks was like 20 years ago. You aren’t wrong to think this because we haven’t even seen shanks fight but even now recently kaido says shanks is one of 5 people who could potentially beat him with xebec, roger, whitebeard and oden. Mihawk is nowhere to be found. And about the sky splitting. It’s said that splitting the sky means you are around the same level or something like that. And all honesty I think mihawk is kinda close to yonko level but I don’t think he’s splitting skies with wb.

A lot of pro Akainu people say it's because, "Akainu would kill Garp; Sengoku didn't want that" but based on the words used in the way they were said, Sengoku held Garp down because he knew Garp was going to kill Akainu... and make himself an enemy of the Navy instead of the Hero. Garp is a nan who fought toe to toe with Gol D. Roger and the Rocks Pirates... and people think a man who couldn't even defeat a single sickly and wounded Rocks Pirate can beat Garp? It's a joke.

The reason why akainu is angry all the time and why he hates pirates is because he had a sad backstory because pirates killed his loved ones, which made him adopt his anger and trust issues….

@@h1gh_end134 akainu basically killed wb tho. at the end of the day just bc akainu got knocked back don't mean he lost. also, read the manga. akainu wasnt scared he just got snuck. he then preceded to immediately melt off half of whitebeards face... after he already put one hole in his chest earlier... yet Akainu ate Whitebeard strongest punch and spun straight back for Luffy.
