I have the same Akai and problem with the 33 speed (45 i can't check couse I don't have 45 speed LP). It's a little bit to slow. The song which have 3:40 it ended 5s to late comparing to the same song from the stream. Belt is the reason or it can be something else?

Really fun video, Joe. I wonder if you've ever worked on a Thorens TT with a TP-16 arm. I have one that was gifted to me at my wedding. I bought a new cartridge for it and it worked well but had a physical situation that bothered me! While playing, the tonearm is going uphill as the arm extends toward the stylus. IE; not-level. I figured out how to adjust the vertical pivot-shaft but, when I got it where I wanted it, the lid would hit the top of the tonearm gimbals assembly. I thought about this while watching you find the adjustment issue with the Akai turntable. Any ideas?

Hey William First of all thanks for watching my video..and I did read your message and I have never did work on a Thorens yet...but your issue I'm sure could very well be a adjustment...just a question...did you by any change the cartridge/Stylus that would of cause you that issue. I'm sure there is a explanation or maybe you did adjust the tone arm bit to high. I wouldn't leave it at that position...touching the cover could cause issues later down the road so I would lower your tone arm for now so you have clearance. I will look it up on line to see if there are adjustments....I'll get back to you on this one

More than likely the rubber feet will have sagged over the years; these should have been checked and adjusted or washers added to ensure they are isolating correctly.

Uhhhh....there was nothing wrong with the rubber feet for sure ..simple adjustments was needed and it worked perfectly... The owner tried to adjust it on his own and gave up...

@@VintageAudioFever yeah, right, rubber does not deteriorate over time NOT. Every vintage deck I have handled has had this issue to some degree. Live and learn.

@@nenadkojic7125 yes i do agree that rubber deteriorates as anyone would know that...100% Now back to the turntable. This time that wasn't the issue here on my bench is all I'm saying but you do bring up a good point.
