When someone comes out of the blue like that there’s always the chance “it’s a snake” (eg wanting something and not true reconciliation). The audacity of this kid to ask for 20k from “an annoying” parent they want nothing to do with. Man.

It didn't matter if it was $20,000 or $20, the fact he only bothered to contact OP for money and not cared about her goes to show what a POS he is.

The fact the mum is still trying to make excuses about not having the money instead of agreeing the son is a POS is worrying.

Yeah, her bigger problem seemed to be that she couldn't trust him to tell the truth about why he needed the money. If he really needed it for school and he could prove it, she probably would have given him everything he wanted.

I get where you're coming from but remember to her he will always be her baby, the person she carried for months, gave birth to and raised. The motherly part of her is still in denial that her child us treating her the way he is and sadly is still trying to protect him out of instinct despite them being a POS. It's sad it really is.😢

That dude will cheat on his partner guaranteed. Nothing in the story makes OP look bad, I just wonder how her son got to be such a piece of shit, which is something their parents should've prevented. I guess the father had a bigger influence? tho it looks like he was hanging with the wrong crowd as well. The question is if OP somehow failed on raising him or if this was just inevitable/hard-to-avoid

There is a nice quote from the Bible that applies to OP's son: "He has received his reward in full." He sold his mother for possessions and luxury and he got possessions and luxury. He should not blame her if they proved to be ephemeral and certainly were not enough to achieve his dreams (such as they are). I have no doubt that he went his way sure of himself being the victim and continues to believe that to this day. Well, hopefully, that will give him comfort as he tries to work his way through post-grad school.

Weird theres a popular reddit story thats been circling the internet for a couple years now that is the exact opposite to everything that was just said ie the father getting booted by his wife and daughter liking the affair partner more then her actual dad etc etc etc. kinda makes this story feel reeeeeealy fake
