I just don't understand the last one. It seems everyone is projecting their own situations on the last guy and judging based on that. The parents couldnt afford to give him a lot of luxuries and did their best to raise him. They made mistakes, which is expected from new parents, and applied the lessons learned to their next kid because they're decent parents. Of course the first child couldnt benefit from a decade of knowledge and the financial luxuries, because the parents didnt have any of that when he was young. The parents should try to include him more in family trips and functions in the future, just more organically and not as an apology type deal.

Hey NL, just stopped by to give my 2 cents. My partner works full time and I (26M) am unemployed. I had a near fatal fall and broke both of my ankles/knees/legs so I can't work right now. At this point I do all the cooking/laundry/cleaning/taking care of our 4 furry animals. We have two messy frat boy roommates who don't clean shit 90% of the time. It's also a big multi level house. I can't imagine asking my partner to do anything around the house, there's so much time in the day that I can do everything and also play video games for what feels like way too much time. Tom seems like a dunce.

The Reddit comments on the last story made my blood boil, they prefer the kid stays in an orphanage than with a family with an average income.
