This is an update on Airtable for Crafters on how to catalogue and search your craft stash with ease. If you have never seen Airtable before and want a full explanation on how it works and how you can use it, please see this video first:
• Airtable for Crafters,...
Today I am explaining the recent changes that have been made to Airtable regarding their free limits, and showing you how you can arrange your stash in different bases so you can keep under the free limits, even if you have 20+ years worth of stash like I do!
I also have some tips on cataloguing your craft stash for insurance purposes, keeping track of things like inks pens and sprays so you don't buy doubles if you are out shopping, and a look at the free Airtable App that you can use on your phone.

You are a lifesaver! Thanks so much! Unfortunately I was over my limits for records and attachments. Your tips on photo types will help me going forward. I’ll be watching your first video now to see if I can structure a bit differently. Thanks again!

Well what can I say, brain fried. I should have watched the 1st video first 😂. The thought of doing all that work fills me with dread but I understand how useful it would be. Good job my husband has got a few days off I’ll rope him in 😂

I haven’t tried it, I know you can scan barcodes on packaging for company’s that sign up with them to get details in too, but from what I could see, they were mainly American companies, and while I do have a fair amount of US items, I have a lot that isn’t- probably more than half, so I wasn’t sure how helpful that feature would be to me personally. It also isn’t free (about $15 a year), though it isn’t an excessive cost, but I was looking for free options. Also when I started cataloging my stash, it didn’t have a web version, it was a phone app only I think, and personally I like a big screen to see what I am doing and to type, especially if I am inputting a lot of stuff! That was the biggest reason I dismissed it when I was first investigating what to use myself. They did release a web version last year, but I haven’t looked at it yet. I might have a look at the 30 day free trial and see what it looks like now, but I think I will stick with Airtable unless their free version changes significantly.
