    I just bought both and I own an iPhone and iPad. despite eco-system convenience, the Bose were the clear winner on both sound quality of music, comfort and ANC. These were things I cared about most. The Bose also do connect very seamlessly to my devices. I have very sensitive hearing and the Bose are amazing.

    I wish the sound quality was better on the Bose, as it's so much more comfortable for me, but bose just sounded flat relative to AP. They missed the mark on sound. It just doesn't hit as good as the AP. My choice of product: neither. Bose SQ is a notch below AP. And AP are too uncomfortable.

    One of the better reviews! ( best! ) I own both, actually, my son and I have and tested: 1st gen Apple Airpods, and Apple AirPod II the Bose QC1, and QC2. My recent purchase of the Bose QCII hands down has been the best all year. 1000% HAPPY!! Build Quality 10, Fit 10, Look 10. Overall BOSE QCII sound quality is like a REALLY good cup of espresso.. full, and rich, with lots of body, bright notes, and lots of throat. The Apple AirPods are like drinking a Coke, Bright, sweet, kinda bubbly, somewhat bitter, and at volume hurts swallowing a little. Also, there is no comparison with the ANC on the Bose compared to every brand of earpods, Bose invented ANC back in 1986 and mastered it. So.. IMHO. " There is no comparing Apples to Boses " ( oranges ) ;-) Coke or Espresso. Drink up!

In my opinion the original pros sound richer and a bit warmer, the pros 2 are a little bit more detailed and airy tho. Actually I prefered the sound of the original pros more in 3/4 songs. Maybe I think that way because I use very detailed dt 1990 as my daily driver on the pc and so I enjoy the difference to the more relaxed galaxy buds pro more from time to time. The new galaxy buds 2 sound great too tho, but I guess tastes differ.

    I'm still sitting on the fence between these two. I want great transparency mode (AP Pro 2's for the win from what I hear), but I also want decent bass (Bose!). I want to be able to ride a bike in traffic whilst listening to music, but safely. I've tried Aftershox and found them very underwhelming. On the flipside, I've got a pair of Jabra elite 75t actives (which I love the sound of), but there's no way I would ride with them- transparency isn't good enough.

  • @HeyItsKora

    @HeyItsKora

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Lucas-zp6dx Kinda same here, but I'm so torn. The AirPods are cheaper (crazy to think the Apple flagship earbuds are actually the _cheaper_ of the two!), and have the iDevice integration which would be great as I have a Macbook, iPhone, and even Apple Watch, plus in the video he very confidently said the AP noise cancelling blocks out absolutely *everything* which swayed me even more- but on the flip side the Bose seem to be better all-rounders, have arguably better actual audio if you like a slight V-shaped EQ tuning which I do, but they're more expensive... I don't think I've been this torn between two products in a long, long time haha Edit: another huge thing, just remembered, is the Bose warranty. They will replace them infinitely even if they aren't broken. Not many people know but you get an initial 2 year warranty, you can phone Bose any time before the end of the 2 years and just say something like "my left earbud started hissing and it won't stop". They run you through a few troubleshooting steps to try "fix" the issue, but you keep saying "no it's still hissing :( " and eventually they will just be like "ok we'll email you a pre-paid postage slip, mail them to us and we will send you a new pair". They don't check the ones you send back or anything- I've done this literally like 10 times with several products over the years. The ONLY down side is you have to wait around 10 days without earbuds/headphones while you send your and wait for the new pair. Now the crazy part in all of this is it's not JUST the 2 year warranty, because every single time they send you a new replacement pair, the warranty extends by 1 year, meaning that if you don't mind waiting a few days every year, you can just keep calling them back like every 11.5 months, and they will keep mailing you new ones, _no questions asked_ ! But it actually gets EVEN BETTER! If the product you are trying to replace is discontinued and no longer being manufactured, well, by law they still have to honour their warranty contract, and that means that they HAVE to replace them with an "equivalent, or better product", in other words, you get a free upgrade! I have tried and tested this, and so has my brother. We both had our old pairs of QC35 upgraded to the QC35 II when the former were discontinued- and I also had a regular pair of Soundsport wireless earbuds upgraded to the WAY better Soundsport Free earbuds. This is pretty rare, so don't bank on getting an upgrade after just one year, but if you hang onto them for long enough, and you keep up the yearly replacements, eventually you 100% will get upgraded to what I assume will be called the Bose QC 3 Earbuds! This is hands down the biggest thing holding me back from just being like "ehh I have an iPhone, therefor AirPods". I know Apple are decent with their warranty but absolutely no where near as good as Bose. If I buy AirPods, I will get *one* pair of AirPods, and in probably like 2-3 years I will need to buy new earbuds-- if I buy the Bose earbuds, well, I could keep getting brand-spanking-new shiny pairs of earbuds every year, so no long-term wear and tear, no battery degrading, now driver degrading- literally a free new pair every year, with a guaranteed upgrade to the newest model once the QC 2 are indefinitely discontinued (admittedly that could be in like 5-6 years or more, even when they release new models that doesn't automatically mean they stop producing the old model. I'm pretty sure they're still manufacturing QC35 II headphones despite there being the QC45, QC SE, and NC700. Oof sorry long comment, but I try tell as many people as possible about the Bose warranty thing because literally no one knows about it. People maybe get them replaced sometimes but very few people know about the extended warranty, and very few people know that you can get a new replacement pair even if there's nothing wrong with your current pair. When I last had bose headphones, I literally did it every single year, and then when I wanted to sell them, I requested a replacement pair again so that I could sell them as "brand new, unused, still sealed" for a much higher price than if I sold them used. Oh also, when you return your pair to Bose they _only_ ask you to ship the headphones themselves, they even tell you to take the ear pads off, so you keep any cables, cases, accessories, and you keep the pads so you have spares, and then the pair that they send out to you is boxed in the orignal packaging with all the accessories, so you get spare cables, spare cases- spare everything. It's a freaking life hack man it's insane

    Hi! I got both in my posession and i would say that etymotics er2xr have noise cancellation better in high range while airpods pro 2 cancel out lower pitch better. (thats a very rough comparison, i know). airplane experience was better with the airpods for me since not alot of high pitched sounds happen there. city/commute experience is the same honestly. due to which daily life sounds happen around me id say airpods pro are better to me. yes they are different. but i also got to notice that the sound of airpods corresponds with 150-175$ buck price range (yes, better sounding than er2xr) which makes sense bc they cost 200-250$. gotta say really matters what you plan on spending. i caught airpods pro 2 for 200 on thanksgiving on amazon, and they do drop to 200 throughout the year. etymotics were only 90$ for me. id say the experience corresponds with the price. but etymotics er2xr to me are a great competitors to airpods in the 100$ range. the airpods pro features and convenience of usage made me ending up not picking up my etymotics ever again tbh. plus with airpods the experience of not struggling getting used to stretching my earholes after a week break of no media consumption was a nice addition too. cant contribute much on ciem discussion since i havent got those. tldr: anc is better on airpods pro 2 than etymotics er2xr pnc for my environment and in my experience

    Personally, I found the AP2 to be a significant upgrade from the first gens.. Yes, the Bose have "punchier" bass, but I did not find the AP2 to be anaemic in any way. Similarly, they also don't have a "sparkle" on the higher end but sound much better than the first gens. The mids are a mixed bag for me- I found them a bit more muddled on the Bose. I feel this may be because of the slightly more V shaped experience on the Bose.The ANC is comparable, it's about the same. I personally went for the AP2 simply for the apple eco system connivence. As DMS rightly said, when you're in a screeching train or noisy airplane, you really aren't listening to these for the subtleties and nuances of your Audio. Both are great, just get whichever suits your ecosystem better.

    Objectively, in total, the Bose have better ANC. If that's what you want there's no better wireless buds available, currently. That said, if you want to consider any other criteria at all then the choice becomes less clear. Even within the ANC category alone there are specific situations in which other buds may outperform the Bose QC2, just not in total. Depending on where you live and where you bought your QC2s you may have up to 90 (or more) days to try them while retaining the ability to return them for a full refund. Buying directly Bose in the USA gives this option, for example. It may be worthwhile to try them out for yourself in the real world circumstances you'll be using them in over putting faith in someone else's review.

    Keep in mind, these are my opinions, so please take them with a grain of salt. I have both buds 2 pro and Airpods pro 2, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is paired to my Fold 4, and Airpods Pro 2 is paired to my iPhone 12 Pro max. In terms of audio quality, I have no complaint about either, both have decent sound considering I only use Spotify on my phone, so both are good enough for me. However, I do prefer AirPods Pro 2 over Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, partially because I use my iPhone more than my Fold 4. Additionally, in my opinion, AirPods Pro 2 fits better in my ear, and has superior noise cancellation (not by a large margin) and slightly better ambient sound mode. At the end of the day, get the AirPods Pro 2 if you have an iPhone, get the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro if you have a Samsung. Both work the best in their respective eco system.

    Solid review! Could you tell us more about the social and ecological sustainability of the AirPods and Bose? Things like fair wages, working conditions in the factory, repairability, amount of recycled product used and how/where they are sourced from. What options do consumers have to dispose of them safely, e-waste is toxic and usually is dumped in poor countries, often harming the marginalized community or leaking toxicity into the landfill and the environment. Does my consumption create social and ecological inequality? Are there noise-cancelling headphones that are more sustainable and ethical?
