When I travel to the UK I only take British Airways and that’s part of the reason. The flight staff are polite and they genuinely smile at you. I insist on the jumbo A380. There’s nothing like it.

I'm an American. I was born in Bermuda when my dad was stationed there. I cried when I heard she had died. Cried on and off for days. Broke my heart to learn she had bone cancer. Cancer has been a curse in my family. I can't imagine how sad Britain's are.

Me too. My mother had metastatic breast cancer, which came back in her bones so I know how awful it is. The Queen's death was a sad loss for our country, but she had a long life and reign.

We knew what we had, we just thought she'd to on forever, I personally truly thought she had a another few years, I thought she'll make it to her mum's age 102, that's been the shock, not that we didn't know what we had. We knew very well and we showed her out love at the jubilee, that turned out to be our finally goodbye whilst she was in this world.

She was a bit like a grandma that you never really knew, but none the less she'd a tear for her. Her devotion to the commonwealth was admirable may she RIP

I am in California and my 5th grader called me about 15min after it happened. Her school announced it. People here do care. Regardless of what some news and platforms say, I hope the people in the UK know we do have respect for the Queen. We may not particularly relate to a Monarchy but we definitely understand and admire a person who loved their country and dedicated their life to it. Moreover we have love for the people of the UK and share in your sadness as you have shared in ours. 🇺🇸🇬🇧

I have never seen such a considerate, professional pilot like him ever. He is a credit to all in that plane. I feel like hugging him and saying thank you, for letting us know by you and not randomly or by strangers. HRH is beloved and always will be in our hearts, we should at all least try to live and behave as per her legacy, that should be the personal homage many should do. Learn from her and pray for her eternal rest 😭🙏😭

Class act, that Pilot. Stepped up and led, just like he would if he had to guide his passengers and crew through any other extraordinary happening aboard his ship. Would have been easier and low risk to stay silent, but he stepped up and delivered the hard news. That is what a leader is made of.

As a 34 year old from England she has always been a part of my life, not personally but she was always a constant in an ever changing world. Watching/listening to the Queen’s speech on Christmas Day is a tradition that spans as far back as most can remember here. Her curly white hair, her handbag and hats, she was the nation’s granny. I’m not a royalist but I can appreciate their role in our society and it’s going to be so odd not hearing her iconic voice any longer.

My husband called me at work to tell me the news. Had to step away to the break room to cry a bit, I was so overwhelmed. Although I'm not English, I feel like she was a great role model to us all. She's missed. ❤🇺🇸

At 96, every day was a gift. She didn't appear to suffering, and people should be thankful that their queen seemed lucid to the end.

What a beautiful pilot. I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night and immediately thought of the Queen. On checking my phone the announcement of her passing was just being played. I cried, didn’t expect to but I cried. I cried for my own mortality, for the security of her always being my queen, steadfast and true - yet I’m a fifth generation Aussie! I cried for the end of an era …….but when texting a friend with the news it was an automatic “the Queen is dead - God save the King” 🇬🇧🇦🇺❤️

I am a black American, and I don’t know why there has been so much animosity towards the queen. It’s not as if she invented slavery or even participated in it. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter who you are or how great a person you may be, there will always be criticism. She was Queen of the UK (which comprises Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland). Not just "the Queen of England ". By the way, the Queen was actually half Scottish. Her mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, was the daughter of Scottish aristocrats, the Earl and Countess of Strathmore.

I remember I was traveling in August 97 when my Greyhound driver announced that Princess Diana had passed away. Very sad day 😭🌹

I was working as a security guard then, and I was on the evening watch at my regular assignment. I’d just finished a routine patrol and was concentrating on adding patrol details to my duty report when the radio station interrupted a song to announce that Lady Diana had been killed in a car accident. Needless to say, the report didn’t get finished right away-I was too busy praying to the Goddess and the God for the safe passage of her spirit and asking for Them to give strength to her sons during this tumultuous time.

Queen Elizabeth is the only sovereign that people my age has ever known. Even with watching everything unfolding on television/KZread it still all seems surreal. Rest in Peace your Majesty 😔. My condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones 💔 🙏

my nan passed away suddenly in front of me a couple weeks before the passing of the Queen, these times where the darkest times of my life and it still hurts as much to this day 💔 R.I.P nan and R.I.P our Queen 😢

England is my home England is in my blood and I didn't know how I would react when this day came. The answer is sadness has filled me I haven't sobbed it has been a slow release on day 1. but day 2 I got up and decided I didn't want to mourn I wanted to celebrate a woman who was the heart of England and the nations grandmother my husband and I will be there in front of the TV to say goodbye for 56 years she was my queen and what a woman and role model to have.

I’m in no way a Biden supporter but I would feel the same way if he passed and I would be crying. He is from my state and his name has been known to me most of my life. I think they are abusing him at his age and we are seeing the signs in his speeches and reactions to things. It will be a sad day when he passes, supporter or not.😔

Her death is quite jarring . I grew up with England being this fabulous country and Her Majesty at the helm...she knew exactly what a modern monarchy should look like. NEVER bringing politics into it. When I was eight years old I was and still am enamored by English history. Love all the pageantry. Anyway..I wrote Her Majesty a letter requesting a photo and why. Well a few weeks later I got a letter from Buckingham Palace. It was postmarked Buckingham Palace. I was sooooooo excited. The letter was from one of her ladies in wating...the Queen is not allowed to send photos but I have enclosed a card w her likeness on it. And the Queen thanks u for all the lovely things u said about her Remember I was only 8. I thought the most magnificent thing happened to me..I have deeply loved and admired her since. I still have the envelope and the card .I turn 67 in 2 weeks..

I’m still awestruck by how manners and respect are handled in Britain. She wasn’t just a Queen, she was THE Queen and for most of us she was Queen our entire lives.

I was workinv from home when the news broke. It's been a year since Her Majesty's passing. May her soul rest in peace.

I'm not British but I find myself upset over her passing.She was such a strong woman and devoted herself to her country,to the Commonwealth and her subjects.She had been queen for ten years when I was born and to now hear "God save the king" seems very strange.I feel for her family.

No one is talking about the guy who came out of the toilet and heard this

There's a class act pilot right there. How considerate.

She was 96 years young. She lived a full life. I can understand she's missed. She's the ONLY queen that lived to see a PLATINUM JUBILEE. What jubilee comes after that? I can't shed sad tears. She broke world records. I could look at her in her casket and secretly say "Wow Queen Elizabeth, Just WOW! What an amazing life you lived".

That’s what I call a good Pilot 👍🏻

God bless the queen and the pilot who had the heart to share that when you have a pilot that can do that and get you where you going to sleep you have to respect it sit back relax and know that you're in good hands whatever Airlines Lufthansa in British Airways on top of my list I don't know what flight this was but God bless the captain I'm mad with the heart at the wheel🙏🏾❤️👋🏾💯

Luv the Brits! Here in the USA there are a lot of people saddened just the same. Gotta admit she had a pretty good life. Nice pilot to announce to his passengers, must be a BA flight. His words were very appropriate.

Oh I was in Jakarta a few weeks ago, I moved back to England.

How thoughtful of that pilot, and an unforgettable flight for those on board.

That was kool of the pilot to tell the passengers, he knew how important it was to tell them ..such a sad day for us all in 🇬🇧

I was on a tour bus in Savannah, GA and my driver teared up, as did I. RIP Queen Elizabeth II, RIP.

I just saw the queen out the window flying with her golden wings high into the heavens above. Look carefully. Did anyone else see? God rest the queen.

Heartbreaking. Even the crew was sad 😔

I love they respected the passengers and gave them this very sad news. However, I wouldn’t want to be on a flight with pilots that may be devastated.

I remember the day that I heard that she was critical condition but i didn’t think much of it I thought she would have been able to pull through. But when I heard she had passed I was shocked because the thought of the queen passing just didn’t sound or feel right. Rest in peace Queen elizabeth 🕊️

The country where I am from which is The Philippines may not be a part of the commonwealth. However, we are deeply saddened and are also mourning the passing of HRH ELIZABETH II. She is just one very strong and one of a kind woman. It gives me great comfort knowing that she is with the love of her life after more than a year when he passed away. Also along with her Mother, father and sister whom she loved so much. Rest in eternal peace your majesty. God save the Queen 👑

My heart definitely goes out to the Airline Crew and being so emotional and having to fly. It had to be tough for them but, it was very respectful of the pilot to let them know before they landed. I love how the cameraman as it's being announced points the video camera out the window. It's almost like your in the heavens with her

I'm Dutch. And it hit me hearing she passed away. R.I.P QUEEN ELIZABETH.

The double 🌈 RAINBOW 🌈 that literally appeared within seconds of the Royal Palace first putting up the notice outside of her passing. If anyone hasnt seen it, it appeared right over Buckingham Palace

Camera person has skills. The fade-out of the pilot's voice to a distant murmur and the image of the beautiful sky, without any other sound, just numbness, feels so appropriate. It may have not been intentional which makes it more impressive to me.

Never from here on out, will any human being match the grace elegance and excellence this remarkable woman so proudly represented her nation with. A profound sense of humor! Her down to earth ways with her beloved dogs as she went out to the beautiful countryside for a chance to enjoy herself. Never a whisper of any scandals..... She loved one man and only one man her entire lifetime. Never intended to be a sovereign at all! But she stood proudly and handed over her life to the service of G.B. Putting her desires out of her thoughts, she rose to the occasion! and set the bar so high that it's safe to say not one future leader could make a thin attempt at her profound greatness . People around the world 🌍 saw GB and the excellence therein when they thought of this profound Queen.

I’m crying and she was buried 2 days ago. It’s just the worst thing to hear in a flight that someone you lived and respected as much as Her Majesty has died. 😢

I had came back to the house after having buried my nephew😢 and someone put the TV on and shouted she had died...we couldn't believe it...there was more tears that day for two legends!!❤

I too was on a flight when the news broke, there was no announcement on our Manchester - Cape Verde flight. We simply found out upon landing and getting signal back on our phones. Very sombre atmosphere and a strange feeling as the news reached fellow passengers at different times xx

I'm American, but does it matter? The Queen has ALWAYS been there. Always been. It feels so off kilter now that she's passed.

The Brits just ooze with class and decorum. It’s such a great display of serenity and order.
