This is a later edition of the Airfix Boeing B-17 kit, 2000 plus, compared to the 1970s editions?

Yep, the kit's a pretty new 2016 tool!

Thought so, some 2000 Airfix 1/72nd scale aircraft model kits are a bit 'engineered'. Compared to previous decade versions, currently doing a 'retro' 1970s B-17.
