This flying car was officially granted a certificate of airworthiness - no more science fiction. The company mentions that it took over 100,000 man hours to create the certified AirCar Prototype 1. The AirCar flew 70+ hours of test flights, including cross country, with 200 takeoffs and landings. It exercised full scale of flight and performance maneuvers. The flying car demonstrated a high level of maneuverability and flight stability - takeoff and landing without pilot intervention. It takes about 2 minutes to switch between car and aircraft mode. The reported takeoff speed is about 71 mph while the cruising speed is 112 mph at 2,800 rpm. The AirCar can go over 100 mph on land.
