Airborne 06.26.24: Eco-Morons Attack Bizjets, Fake Pilot Guilty, B-29 Doc

Also: Bombardier Strike?, New Gulfstream-Specific Training, Wright Brothers Trophy, Virgin Galactic
Two women were arrested at London Stansted Airport on June 20 on suspicion of vandalizing aircraft in a restricted area of the airport where private aircraft are parked. Local police said officers responded to a report of “people gaining access to a private area of the airport well away from the runway and main passenger terminal” and damaging two aircraft without providing further details. Just what aviation needed, yet another black eye... this time from a repeat offender who's had no end of trouble with the feds over the last decade-plus. On June 6, 2024, Michael Anthony Roberts pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska to charges of acting as an airman without a pilot's certificate and aircraft registration fraud. The ever-so-mobile B-29 Doc History Restored Tour will be a part of the Wings & Wheels event at Decatur Airport, August 3-4, 2024. B-29 Doc, one of 1,644 B-29 Superfortress aircraft built by the Boeing Company in Wichita, KS, during World War II, will be available for ground and cockpit tours, as well as B-29 Doc Flight Experience rides during the tour stop in Decatur, Illinois. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!

And vandalizing Stonehenge displays the moral superiority of the cause, how? Oh, I get it, it's because of all the oil pumped by Stonehenge's builders.

Those jets they vandalized are worth more than both of them will make in their lifetimes combined.

If you've got enough money to get a Super Cub, you've got enough money to get a pilot's license

Nope, this is a special pilot, he doesn't need a license. In fact, there's probably nothing wrong him having an open Budweiser in the cup holder either.

Depends where you're at. Alaska is a whole other type of flying. Many pilots up there, some even have licenses.

Apparently Taylor Swift’s aircraft did land at Stansted but it was immediately put in a hangar. The two clowns have at least been remanded in custody without bail. Incredibly they pleaded not guilty, despite their own video evidence. They’re not smart people 😂

Those two got to the airport in their SUVs with the aircondition on full blast . And if the were to have used an EV it charged from a Coal fire . And likely a Soros paid them and supplied an oil based paint. New paint jobs and replacement of those expensive windows and the clean up prior to pain as well as a weight and balance and any other FAA mandated work will cost them over $50,000 per plane . They will not be able to afford to buy oil for a long time. And thats not to include any lost revenues , pilot wages and damage to the other aircraft in the area . They need some time too! Who ever financed this thing needs to be deported , For example the Soros's

I think 25 years of hard slave labor to pay for damages to these aircraft. I don’t care what others might make about my comment. You people probably have not had to pay for maintainace of an aircraft. If any of the critical sensors were covered with paint rendering the aircraft unsafe for flight. Those sensors will have to be replaced at costs exceeding $20,000 just for the sensors plus labor which could be double the cost of the equipment that needs to be replaced. Loss of service of that aircraft also is something that can be added to the cost of repairs and cleaning of aircraft.

I'm an Aerospace Engineer and Pitts pilot so I very much love aviation. That said, those "Eco-Morons" have good intentions we DO need to take urgent action on climate change. We need to get away from airlines/private jets and build up high speed rail powered by wind/solar if we want future generations to have a reasonable chance at survival.

What climate change? NOT all scientists agree. Many disagree actually, but are silenced. In the 1970s they were worried about a new ice age. A couple of my college professors didn't agree with it, for sure. I've lived on the coast all my life, no change in the water line in the 100+ years of photos we have available for the area. Hurricanes are NOT on the rise: www.nhc.noaa.gov/pastdec.shtml
