or your grandfather just should have used the air layering boxes from myfirsttree.com :D just joking it's actually amazing that he knew about this procedure 60 years ago in Asia they do that for centuries but this knowledge was not spread over the western world.
Thanks for your prompt reply. I live in Malta and my trees are in full growth now, in fact I harvested some this morning. I will air lay next week and will keep you posted. Thanks once again

True! I watched a lot of tutorials in this topic and this one is really one of the best. What I don't understand is why people don't make their lives so much easier with the air layering boxes myfirsttree.com sells. I mean it's a gadget specially made for the procedure to ensure that the cutting will survive and if you do a tutorial I would recommend to a newbie to use the best tools from the beginnig.

My mother in law did this in Italy for her lemon plants. She had many of them. Quite a common procedure out there
Sounds like Fleetwood Mac in the beginning... nice! This can be done on any bonsaitree and spagnum moss also works good inside the aluminium foil for the roots to thrive in!

@@DVisionHD I DIDNT SEE YOU MAKING HOLES TO DRAIN THE WATER LIKE OTHER VIDEOS IVE SEEN. ITS NOT NESESSARY?
This is a good method as the bag is already prepared on the tree which makes adding the soil or moss around the branch much easier. Thanks for the video. One thing I don't understand is why you wrap the plastic wrap over the other plastic bag. That step doesn't seem necessary at all.
@DVisionHD
8 жыл бұрын
this is necessary for two reason , first it is taking out most of air from the bag since it is pushing the bag to the soil and branch , the other reason is to press the soil as much possible to push any extra water out , because in most of the cases that this method is failed is because of extra water which may rotten the roots after it is developed , thats the reason we even create small hole by the blade under side of the bag after this step.
Thank you so much
How long does it take to bear fruit after it has been transplanted?
Mr D vision, I'm looking for a video about air layering where the the intended branch is cut from the tree , an airlayer surgery is performed say about 10 center meters above the cut so the branch can be put in water to feed the top foliage as the roots grow in the airlayer bandage. See if you can find a video on that and duplicate an airlayer using that procedure . Also try an air layer with applied heat to the bandaged dirt ball . See if you get quicker results
Nice! Could you trim the tree a little bit? Thanks for the video.

Nice Video for the beginners , what time(season) is best for air layering, and planting in the Permanent Field .?
@DVisionHD
7 жыл бұрын
the best time for air layering is basically is before the tree comes out from its winter sleep so just few days before end of winter is best time . however it can be done in other seasons too just avoid very hot temperature time . about the second question the answer is , that you have to check if the air layering is completed and you have a very good amount of root is developed ( specially you should have the tiny roots too) then is the time to plant it to permanent place .
WOW SUPER METHOD👍👍👍👍👍
Thank u sir very useful video
are you actually removing the outer and inner bark by scratching the cut area?
Hi Sir, thsnks for a wonderful video and tutorials. Can we do that to a jackfruit tree as well? and one more thing sir, will the result be smaller tree when they start producing fruits than seedling one? Thanks and more power to you! God bless your work! Arnold

Do you know where this method originated from and when??
@DVisionHD
7 жыл бұрын
very good question ,I don't really know where and when its originated , but how I started is was one day in my garden I had a sweet lemon tree that I thought is nice to be able to propagate,I knew that if you put branch of some tree in soil next to tree it will grow routs , so I put a foam cup around the branch of tree and put soil in it , and put some water in It , hoping to root , after 1 month I removed it and there was no root but the branch in that section was look changed( maybe i did not wait enough ) , how ever after some time I saw a similar concept in internet and then I new that I needed to remove the skin of the branch in order to let it root faster , so I did the second try and it worked very well since then I have enhanced the method I try to use easy available material and also make it possible to do the air layering in any place of tree .thats why I use cut nylon because you can wrap around any place in branch and i use normal soil , and also i think no need to use routing harmon or honey , I tried the honey tit made no difference for me any way to answer you I made some research I realize that its been there for thousand of years and in also it was practiced in man y different places in the world maybe it is as old as agriculture or a bit less I don't know .

@hopey1809

with the air layering boxes from myfirsttree.com it only takes like 15 days. on other youtube tutorials I saw results taking like 4-5 weeks.
Nice video! I was wondering can I remove the rooted plant from the tree and put it directly into the ground instead of putting it in a pot? And, can this newly planted rooted plant survive in the ground in very cold autumn and winter weather?
@OldSchoolPrepper
3 жыл бұрын
yes you can plant directly. Quite a few people plant in pots so they can re-sell or give away the new tree/bush. Transplanting is best done in the fall and spring. Try to give the new tree the best chance so I'd stick to above freezing and fair weather for a while after planting the new tree. good luck!
