Oh wow this vase is beautiful, love the little mouse 🐭. I think it looks gorgeous in the navy colour, but red would look good too. It depends what kind of project I’m doing, I like to take my time with air dry clay though and get it as neat as possible. If I’m doing glass painting (Vitrail) I like to get it done so I can let it dry to avoid dust settling. I look forward to your videos, so inspiring, thank you ❤

I love both of them! You inspire me every time. I made clay ornaments shape like small houses; made 6 of them, but only 3 are pretty enough to be displayed. Practice is the key! Thank you Sarah.

@@RedRockingBird I've just buttoned up my garden for the winter, have a few "process-the-produce" days yet from my garden bounty, THEN I'm diving into my crafts. 😀 I love the idea of the air dry clay vase & will definitely give it a go--but I will decoupage with napkins because I have zero painterly talent. So cute! I love your little mice! I started out with air dry clay because of you, but now I'm working with polymer clay. I've made about twenty delicate swirls and flowers ornaments. They have a real vintage look with lots of sparkle from tiny crystals and holographic mica. I do love the bling😁! Merry Christmas! 😊🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Just found you! Liked and subscribed! Most recently, I made some pirate coins... had some rubberstamped script I used backwards for texture... really took texture well! For some reason I just ditched air clay, and started with the polymer clay ... too many choices! I have been fooling around with beads for decades... also , I sew and make lamps... a few years ago (ok., maybe 9 or 10!) I hurt my back at work pretty seriously... and my favorite crafting buddy got married and moved away... of course, Jesus is my craft inspiration always. But hopefully I can learn from you, and others like you! TTFN😊

I make a lot of light up fairy houses, gnomes and gnome money boxes made with empty bottles and clay. But you have inspired me to branch out and try other things, love the illustrations as well. Very talented. Thankyou so much for sharing x

Thanks for the wonderful video 😊❤ Can I ask, can you leave air dry clay slabs to firm up like you do for ceramic clay? And then cut and join them (to prevent warping)? Or is it better to do it the way you showed us and adjust them after creating the vessel? I’m new to air dry clay but thought you would know 😊🙏😊 Thanks again 🥰

hi, thank you, leaving them to firm up can be a really good idea to stop the clay from slumping, but it does behave quite differently to ceramic clay, so you can't let it dry for too long as the edges start to go crispy, it's a bit of a fine balance, but in the spotty vase video I did make it in 2 parts to make sure it kept it's shape, so this is also an option but the join is not quite as strong ❤

So, so thankful for these AC tutorial! 😃 Can I ask how long we can store slip? I have a mason jar ready to make, but wonder how long it can sit between projects.

Wonderful, you are so welcome, thank you for watching. I tend to make mine just a little at a time, you can still use your bigger jar, as if something gets in it then yes bacteria can form and go moldy, keep refreshing and never an issue ☺️❤️

Good point! I will make use of distilled water. Don’t plan a large amount, therefore jar is small and don’t plan on making large batch. I had some started 🤦🏼 then took note that the slip needs to be made with the same clay (DAS slip for DAS clay fabrication). So, starting from scratch. Thank you for responding. 💐

Thank you so much 😀 it's a thick tracing paper, but anything you can see through clearly enough, or you can use regular paper but then put it up against the window or on a light source to trace. Yes I have made my own clay with this recipe in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJeim8SvlKa0Yrw.html

Sounds great, good to hear you got some clay, did you want to 3D something or paint something, I would try and start fairly simple. If you find an image you like you could try the transfer technique to make it so much easier. Thanks and enjoy your project for your sister.

I like it but, its sunken in on the front & back, how do I prevent that from happening.

As it dries you can push it back in place and then prop it up with something

Hi..I'm trying to glue a magnet to the back of my aurdry clay figure but it keeps coming off...do you have any tips as to what I should do or use...I used the regular gorilla glue but it's not adhering to the clay..thx

Scuffing both sides can help as the string glue should work, but I do like to coat the whole back with resin and then place the magnet on
