To me, the best thing that make this delay unique is the fact that you can turn it into the nicest reverb for the mpc !

Yup, that's basically the last 'quality' effect I'm missing from the MPC standalone platform.

It’s crazy how people complain about the MPC line somethings. The feature set is clearly unmatched. Yes, other workstations a slightly better sound here or there, but Akai is dominating.

Picked it up last week and liking it a lot so far. Great little tour. Guitar will be tried tomorrow now! Really looking forward to your Flavor Pro guide. That’s a great plug-in too. Thanks Tefty!

1:40 okay, I'm sold on it. Could be some great effects when deliberately setting the delay to a weird off-beat.

Yup, it's an excellent delay. No brainer if you're exclusively on the MPC platform.

Now we need high-quality reverb for both small and large spaces. CPU usage is not an excuse because anyone can use currently available reverbs. My last full project uses 30% at peak. For some of us, reverb that would take even 50% of the CPU would be very useful. And then EQ like Ableton's EQ8 where we can move nodes with the touch ;)

If you had to choose, Flavor Pro or Delay Pro?

Beware: this plugin does not install/activate properly on the MPC One in some cases…I bought it a week ago and have not been able to use it unless I am connected to the internet. The same is NOT true for Flavor Pro, which I bought at the same time and can run seamlessly. Submitted ticket with Akai and used their support chat (who created another ticket). Edit: Akai fixed this issue with the 2.12.2 update

Can you plug in a hardware synth and use the mpc one as an external effect processor?

The delay sounds fantastic. But one of the things that drives me nuts about the stock plug-in instruments like tube synth is the default after touch. It is always set to give vibrato and when you play the pads rather than a midi keyboard, it always triggers way too easily. Hence you were getting massive vibrato when trying to demo the delay using Tube Synth.

Absolutely right. I probably should've picked a different demo synth to start with in hindsight.

Hey Tefty, was this just your MPC connecting to the MPC Software or was the plugin installed on the MPC Standalone itself? If the latter, for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it. 🥺

Anyone having issues with the plug-in remaining activated without an internet connection? As soon as I disconnect my MPC One from ethernet and try to load a project with Air Delay Pro, the machine says it cannot load the plug-in and tells me to buy it. Waiting to hear back from Akai support....

limit is related to feedback, as over 100% feedback (goes to 150% max) gives gain. limit restricts the gain so it doesn't blow up in your face

For 39$ bucks it is totally worth it!

I'm a bit two-sided on these paid MPC plugins. I don't mind paying for them but then I want choice. So while I think this Air Delay Pro sounds actually pretty cool, it annoys me that Akai doesn't allow Valhalla to be a third-party MPC plugin. If Akai would make its MPC platform available to third-party (plugin) developers then it would be a huge boost to the platform. And then I would trust it to be widely supported long enough that I would invest more heavily in its onboard plugins.

I definitely see your point. It's also possible that'll take a significant hardware change. I don't see Valhalla Verbs running on these machines easily without taking up a ton of system resources. AIR recently released a reverb (Ether I believe) and it's not on the MPC platform. I'm assuming it's because the hardware can't effectively handle it plus other plugins/samples in realtime.

@@teftymusictech I agree but that is why you release a developer kit and define the specs for others to follow. Reason Studios (and many other third-party stores for that sake) have long proven that amazing, stable third-party plugins can be done. In the case of Valhalla and other CPU-eating plugins, that would probably mean an adapted version of their plugin. Still, it would be better than having no choice. Can't wait for you to review the new Push 3 btw. The long wait for an Ableton device with these capabilities is the very reason I bought the MPC Live 2 a while ago.

Oh, and I thought your guitar playing was fabulous. As soon as you started playing I got some definite echoes (shocking pun, I know) of David Gilmour.
