    The main spectral diff between Vpno and Zcore german grands is the higher power in the bass of the latter which hides the treble. Could it be the EQ?

    Ok question...so i see you export it to audio file so at this point no more editing the midi....so you want to edit the midi all in mpc? I thought i could get a idea started and then take the midi and put it in to ableton to further edit but when I try I dont have the mpc sample sounds...how would I edit the samples as midi in ableton? or are you supposed to edit everything the way you want in mpc and then explode it and export the stems as audio into ableton? is that the only option? So you want to do the entire song in mpc and then finish in ableton as audio? I know you can export the midi from mpc but can you get the midi to have the sample sounds of mpc? or can you only do that inside the mpc? cheers

    The worst thing about this synth is that all the sounds from it are mono. The only reason why there is stereo out is the FX section. There is no stereo spread on oscillators or on unison options.

    Great review , corect me if i'm wrong but i'm not sure that on the juno x and jupiter X / XM , you can edit drums on a per sound basis ... I do think that people sees this as a "i'm gonna do a whole track on it" witch it can , but i must not agree with you on the fact that for me IT is a great scratch pad / soundesign tool , sure the hydrasynth / minfreak and xd are great (i do own an xd and try theothers) but this sh 4d has that multi layer and drum part that can creat sounds as a whole : crazy (FX section top notch and modulation limit compensated by multitimbrality , motion record , ect !... ) As for lofi i've found the best is put 3 and 3 on setting for solid lofi patches !!

  • @teftymusictech
    @teftymusictech2 күн бұрын

    Honestly tough to say. If you REALLY like the sound of the MicroFreak, then the MiniFreak is just a better version IMO. It's got FX and Polyphony. But, if you're looking for a different sound, then I'd explore more. Hydra could be great, or you could look at a Take 5 or TEO 5 from Sequential (more expensive though). If you already have a keyboard, you could checkout a used Novation Peak. Lots and lots of options right now.

    I have my Mpc X linked with my daw via an external clock. Been trying to figure out how to get the daw and the mpc to start at the same points like you did. for example if the daw starts at bar 32 the mpc will also start at bar 32. Once I figure out how to do that my hybrid setup will be perfect. Would also like to access the internal drive and ssd from the cpu while in standalone but I can live without that tho.

  • @teftymusictech
    @teftymusictech2 күн бұрын

    It has to do with the clock settings in the MPC preferences under the midi ports. Once thats set, then make sure your DAW is sending Midi clock properly to the Midi port that your MPC is receiving.

I'll probably wait for Akai to re-release an MPC One++ with 1 extra GB of RAM and not a gaudy color(as opposed to their paid plugins running on free proprietary software as I am, there's just nothing better when it comes to the pads and sampling).The 404 seems great, just alottt of button combinations. I've read through both user manuals and I still can't make up my mind lol. One day...

    I was very surprised how easy it was to switch. Cubase only supports VST3 plugins when running native and not under Rosetta... but all the plugins I use are available for Apple Silicon and as VST3... and the performance is impressive compared to my previous Windows PC! I don't reach the limits with the Mac Mini and my projects aren't exactly small. The 8 GB RAM is also sufficient, but 16 GB is recommended, especially if you use memory hogs like Google Chrome in parallel.

    Thanks! Have been watching your videos - they are fantastic! I have a question - i have been eyeing at mpc one plus - but it seems like an overkill for my need which is a great drum programming machine - where i can sample / program drum loops into 4-5 song parts and use live. What would be the best solution for that? Or should I just pick up the mpc one plus and explore programming bass sections etc?

  • @teftymusictech
    @teftymusictech5 күн бұрын

    Hmmm I'd say either of these boxes could do that really well. The Sp404 will give you more performance options with the FX. The MPC One Plus will give you more room for growth in the future. Keep in mind, you don't need to use every single feature of a device to consider it a worthy buy. I basically just used the MPC as a midi sequencer in the beginning. Over time I learned more of the capabilities and workflow options.

    great video and very insightful. I was seriously looking into buying this until I watched your video. It sounds fantastic but the limitations in the sequencer and effects routing is a real let down. I wish I still had my Fantom X6 from 2003. The sequencer was awesome. Probably the last Roland workstation to include the old style sequencer. 100 patterns, 16 parts, chain the patterns and you have a song. Simple and effective. I recorded hundreds of songs on it and still have them all on my hard drive. Maybe if Roland bring out a module version of the new Fantom EX I could buy that and then hunt down an old Fantom x from 20 years ago. Lol! Also it used to be that you had patches and performances with 16 parts. Now we have clips and scenes.....It get's too confusing. Rant over.😆

    The workflow is sh*t, overly complicated The activation process of plugins is sh*t. You need two accounts (counting the ilok one) and your MPC needs to be always connected to internet to be able to use plugins without surprises. The memory management is sh*t. The use in live performances is sh*t. You spend more time watching tutorials than using it. I would sell it. But that would mean probably giving away my accounts to other people. Worst thing I've ever bought.

    "Moog sent over the Spectravox" "I did get the Spectravox for free" "Moog has no idea I am making this video" Mmmm. Yeah okay. But there is kind of an implied assumption that you will make a video and say good things, well, assuming you want more free gear in future. I'm getting tired of these kinds of shenanigans, and I'm not the only one. I like what Behringer do and make people buy their own gear, which is fine because the prices are quite reasonable. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the content, like Moog, I even have one. I'd be saying the same thing about anything else.

  • @teftymusictech
    @teftymusictech6 күн бұрын

    I hear you! I'm just being upfront and honest. Most KZreadrs only mention this on the first review video and then stop afterwards if they post anything else. My agreement with Moog was basically just do a review (an honest one) and leave it at that. That's why I said 'they don't know I'm making this video' because they honestly don't. I made it because I'm really digging the tones I'm getting from the combo. Now here's the thing, I've spent literally thousands on my setup. Each camera that points on the desk is worth more than the $600 box I was sent. So the incentive for free gear is actually pretty low. I'm more incentivized by getting early access to cool gear, but only if it's actually cool gear (stuff I'd legitimately use for my work). I've been sent stuff that wasn't great and my response is 'I'm not making a video on this, here's why it sucks'. It's wayyyy too time consuming to make content on stuff I don't like. Much easier to just let the manufacturers know the problems. Also I think the channel suffers if I focus on negative reviews etc. Anyways, I appreciate the comment and perspective, so I thought I'd share a bit deeper on my perspective 🙏❤️

  • @jumpstar9000
    @jumpstar90006 күн бұрын

    @teftymusictech Thank you for the extensive reply, man. Well, I don't think the idea is to have a negative review - although I know there are a bunch of people who seem to feed off that kind of negativity. It is just that once you go down the sponsored gear route, it starts to become questionable regarding objectivity and can become a slippery slope. I'm sure you have thought about it too. Especially on the receiving end of the content, the question is always going to be lingering in the air. Of course, I can see that you are making genuine content from a good place. That is why it's so important to make sure gear doesn't dilute your brand. And about the gear. Oh yeah, I hear ya, quite the thousands into it myself. Anyway, like I said, I enjoy your content, even this video. Simply wanted to share my perception. And probably that is coming from frustration with much more questionable content creators in any case. So there is that. Thanks again for the much considered reply. Keep on keeping on 👍💫
