Aion 5.1 - Nuke Gladiator Pvp Vol. I

Ойындар

This is my first pvp montage after rerolling gladiator, featuring clips from 5.1. It took me an insane amount time, using all the software and editing knowledge I currently have. I hope it will be entertaining and you will enjoy it. Please turn on 1080p full screen for the best experience!
Also, as usual there's an hidden "Nic" somewhere... find him! (this time I made it easy for you!)
Songs, software and various credits are at the end of the video. Thank you for your support!
FAQ:
-What's your ping? 12-20 ms without any ping reduction software. I tend to insist on this point because wtfast gives you a different skill flow.
-What is your gear? abyss 65, jewels from +5 to +7, various +15 polearms main one: lv 71 +15.
-Recording, virtual keyboard, editing? OBS, Nohboard plugin, Sony Vegas 13, Adobe After Effects CC, Adobe Photoshop.

Liked it overall. Gonna give some feedback/critiques. Pros: 1. Various contents, not limited to just world PvP or 1 vs. 1 fights but including other PvP aspects such as arena or Runatorium. Maybe in future videos put more world PvP (yeah this one is hard to get good clips of) and 1 vs. 1 duels. 2. Sufficient swapping between burst spear and extend spear (95% of Gladiator players are 24/7 extend). Not perfect, but you're trying to do it consistently anyway. Always use burst spear for Cleaves (unless target is 18-21 meter), AoE's, knock-down chain skills and on stationary targets. 3. Good swapping between Slaughter and Defense Preparation in most of cases (some were awkward like going Defense Preparation with Berserking up vs. Templar, but again 95% of Gladiator players don't switch stances). 4. You have a good habit of always trying to put an auto-attack cancellation (AAC) when approaching targets (99% of other Gladiators just spam skills upon approaching unless they play in !Aion easy mode where the game automatically weaves for you even if you spam skills upon approaching). Good for you for developing this habit, I've only seen few Gladiators in EU who do this on regular basis. Also, overall nice weaves in-between skills in fights. 5. You don't jump around too much, making it easier to track moving targets, although you seem to auto-approach a bit tad too much for my liking, but I can see why you'd rather auto-approach then jump around. I personally jump around too much. =P Cons: 1. Too lengthy intro with unnecessary content to set up the video. More concise for future videos would be better in my opinion. 2. Your character's ugly. =( 3. Tip for you, increase the mouse sensitivity (whether in-game or via hardware/software). Your camera turns are too slow to efficiently turn and track opponents ideally. I too had slow camera turn rate before and after I increased it my tracking (chasing targets while applying constant damage/pressure) became much better. 4. Another tip, use "Hold left click and right click to move forward" method, rather than pressing down on "W" key to move forward. This gives you much better maneuverability, leaving your middle finger free to maximize keybinds. 5. Additionally to point 3 and 4, always keep yourself moving forward when you're doing movable skills. For example, at 08:40, you spammed 11 movabale skills (4x Body + 2x Sharp + 3x Ferocious + 2x Cleave) consecutively standing in one place on a stationary Cleric. You're losing literally 10% of more damage that you could've done if you kept yourself circling around the target in forward movement. There is absolutely no reason for you to stand still in one place spamming 11 movable skills on a stationary target. Faster camera panning from point 3 and better forward movement from point 4 will help you better in circling around stationary targets to keep the forward movement damage buff. Gladiator should be always mobile, moving unless doing Exhausting Wave and Absorbing Fury AoE chain skills. 6. vs. Templars, covering bind helps a lot. 7. Mechanically, I hope you can improve on your momentum of movement. By this I mean cutting animations or utilizing game mechanics to minimalize character's cluncky hanging post-animations. For example, two times I saw you do 'Raging Blow' to jump to your opponent then do 'Piercing Rupture' next. This is counter-intuitive in my opinion. Two other 'Raging Blow' I saw you do after were same with other non-movable skills right after. You should try to cut the post-animation of 'Raging Blow'. If you're going to jump to your target to reduce the distance, maximize that movement by keeping your character mobile, not "stuck" in one place after you do so. After using 'Raging Blow' perhaps use your 'Taunt' or 'Cleave' chain or 'Blade of Incitement' (or any other movable skills with extend spear but sometimes this gets stuck too) or sheathing (closing) your weapon to escape out of the 'Raging Blow' post-animation and keep yourself moving. For example: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h6mOurRtnNyafrA.htmlm45s. After I use 'Raging Blow' to reduce the gap to the Assassin, I immediately use 'Blade of Incitement' to escape out of the 'Raging Blow' post-animation and therefore keep my character moving. Right after then I slideshot the 'Piercing Rupture' to further keep my momentum, what's more I immediately sheath (close) my weapon upon landing from the 'Piercing Rupture' to keep the momentum. Additionally, you can go into mechanics of slideshotting certain non-movable skills to keep your momentum of movement continuous. However you noted that you play with sub 20ms ping and regrettably it is much harder to consistently slideshot with such low latency. Here's a little guide I wrote if you ever want to venture into it though: board.en.aion.gameforge.com/board23-aion-the-game/board25-class-discussions/board31-gladiator/25569-beginner-to-mediocre-skilled-gladiators-guide-to-the-mechanics-of-slideshotting/ You can take some of the critics I've given or not, it's up to you. Take it as a grain of salt, I'm just trying to be helpful, not intending to sound arrogant or elitist. Of course I myself am no where close to being a perfect player and fail to do many of the things I've said myself. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the comment. I'm not going to break my answer down point by point but I really appreciated the part about keeping the momentum up, I realize it's my biggest weakness. Yes, I had a couple of awkward stance swapping moment and I stood still at some point, although I have to lead in runatorium so I can't focus completely on my gameplay (I keep track of remove shocks, buffs, and all). Same for cleaves and aoes with my extend, something I fully understeand being wrong. Those brain afk moments, lol. I also constantly move forward by pressing both mouse keys, but sometimes I don't really need it cause I have my ring finger instead of the middle one on the W (don't ask, I come from a competitive FPS scene where I had to use this setup). Long story short, I can press up to 7 / Y / H easily. About the intro lenght, I would like to find a good balance and keep doing it for future videos because I love video editing and the intro is usually the part where I can express it with more freedom. Unfortunately I can't slideshot and don't want to rely on WTFast which really changes my gameplay to be honest, the skill flow is totally better... but crashes alot!

On what criteria did you chose the videos for your montage? - the coop against us was boring (from my PoV), we didn't land a single kill even cuz your cleric did a really nice job - Cakj is some alt sorc - the templar from Antriksha reminded me of the Elyos version of Sonosmanli :v At least the editing is ok

  • @Nukedw

Hi Click, I usually try to select "highlights" from certain clips where I either had a good arena / duel / coop in terms of skills (Cakj was very good, I realize he's probably an alt but I liked his fairplay), or against known players (but let me get to that point later), or even well geared players (for example: Ewgeni in another video, he won but still, it was a nice challenge to fight against someone hitting for 7k damage). Back to you, for me and my friends it was a pleasure to meet your group. I've seen your name around since ages and I've checked out many of your videos. Just like Jtz down here, I admire players like you; most of your legion members have an even longer Aion career than mine. The final goal is to entertain, but also to keep my very own diary about my journey in Aion. I realize the ideal pvp montage would include high quality and balanced fights, but that kind of fight happens once in a year. Just like I said on FB, I hope we will have a rematch after your cleric finishes his block set. Thank you for your comment, Nuke

Hellu, i am not on FB, i got the link somewhere else. i didn't mean to sound negative with my comment, just been wondering/curious how we managed to land there, cuz the fight was frustrating for me, rather than entertaining (i even have to admit i was about to leave after round 1, but then i saw some familar names on aiDPS and we made the full 9 mins)... It's always a nice experience to get dominated and overrolled tho, you can't always win :) how much block does your cleric even have? Accu set, still blocking xDDDD

I would be an hypocrite if I told you that, from your perspective, it was a funny arena and I fully understeand your point. I realize me and the other gladiator spammed our silences making it frustrating for your cleric, but what made me remember this arena is that we were surprised by the burst we could pull out in certain situations on geared players. For us it's hard to keep up with patches nowadays and seeing that our characters work, at least in numbers, is a rewarding and rather new feeling. Our cleric is very dedicated to gearing, she runs indeed a very good block set, featuring some crit resist too: she has more than 4,3k block and something like 900 strike resist. She also has good defensive jewels, not sure about the current level but over +6 for sure. She also swapped to dps when possible. Again, all the best

I don't think there's shame in that if the fight was good. A 10m long video would not fit in a montage, but I post raw arena footages as well in "arena videos" if the entire arena is decent enough. The one against you just had two decent fights, the first one and somewhere during the second arena. The bridge arena just sucked, it's just 3 minutes of me chasing you while you run back and forth. To be honest I was kinda disappointed by the amunt of Salvations you used (4 ?) since you went for a blind GS approach against a gladiator who you were hitting for 5,6k with punish earth. That said it's my bad, I always think people would not pop a precharged dp at the first fight.

A me l'arco sale dopo 3 secondi buoni, una cosa impossibile.
