Very tense and shouting. Too much effort. Patti is Patti , but she m gets too tense up there.

Both ladies are powerhouses! Both have the range and the emotive ability...two of the best at that. It's hard to find criticism of either, so in the end it comes down to preference. This type of song really works for Patti. No matter the song she tends to drive it and take you there, so singing "Ain't No Way" is a ready-made song for her to do that. Whitney, on the other hand can do that as well, but will also allow a song to rise, go on a journey if you will. Even when she emotes her enunciation is virtually unmatched, and to find that sort of clarity in this particular song is impressive - she did it. So again it comes down to preference. For me it's Whitney, but make no mistake Ms. Patti sho nuff did her thing.

Patti WITHOUT QUESTION....!!! She just has that type of voice to be able to do the song right. Not only that Whitney was past her prime when she did it. So her voice was extremely fatigued by that point. Don't get me wrong in her prime Whitney was untouchable. But when it comes to this song being a singer myself. Patti wins it hands down.

Singing lower may be better🤨. Patti gets so tense and yelling 😂 I can’t stand her. It is all about some high yelling belts.

Whitney!!! Whitney was easier on the ear because her mezzo range with power notes between A4-D5 is perfect for the general public. We don’t have a lot of soprano legend in pop for a reason. Their sweet spot is too high (F5-A5) for most people to enjoy. Fewer want to hear 1min+ of those belts… Only note I wanna hear above G5 is a pure head voice. Unless you use those notes like Celine… as a 1 time moment at the very end & very twangy & straight to create tension before you go into a final mid belt or a head note.

I don't even know who several of these people are. Patty tore it up! Her rendition gave me goosebumps, she was that good. And Whitney, that's just her nature. "The Voice" easily takes command of any song she sings!❤

You hear Whitney Houston words clear as glass, when Whitney Houston opens her mouth Patti good but after couple of 😮 songs its like noise,but i can listen to Whitney Houston songs all fay long and Don't get tried of Whitney beautiful voice.

Patti's belt has no DYNAMICS...it feels like the voice is beside her only, that feels shouted belt

Patti has better range, old-school soul and POWER Whitney's also better POWER, richer TONE and better control

Patti screams, as usual. And this was not a song for Whitney, but I prefer her offering.

Patti was in her 50s here and by the time Whitney reached 40 her voice was shot - they both are good singers but Patti has her style and Whitney hers - Patti suited this song as her voice is naturally higher I think.

It's definitely Whitney Houston Because she is a singer. Patti Labelle all she does on stage is making roaches noise. She's opening her mouth as if she's fighting or wrestling someone on stage with her gestures.

Mariah was a studio singer..😂😂😂...she couldn't replicate her songs live, let alone outshine Whitney. In fact, both times they sang together Whitney ate her up!!! 😂

You're kidding right? 🤣 Mariah's voice is so unstable. She relies a lot with her back-up singers and I agree with the above comment, she cannot replicate the studio version of her own song.She is however an amazing songwriter which really brought her to where she's at.

Please where is the lol?? Cause Mariah was a studio singer who had moments in a song in the studio and could not deliver live. Whitney on the other hand delivered in the studio and her live outshines the studio recordings. So you gotta be kidding.
