I am a USAF veteran and I never heard this when I was on active duty. Now the significance of this ballad brings tears to my eyes and an ache in my heart! God Bless the veterans and the USA!!

Me too !!! 'cause i'm a vétéran of French Navy so now France is down in some sectors. I were trained by some named "Fusiliers Commandos" during my service in the Marine Nationale, la "Royale". At near my seventies years, i can tell you that i have no forgotten one day of this life and i do each morning, like if i was on a Boat. This music is for me a reference like "La Marche des soldats" de Bruce. It's a moment very heavy and Strong when at the ceremony the funeral come in the barn of Invalides in Paris. there were manies "Friends of arms" from the French Navy. Some politics were laughting like nicola sarkosy and others one. This commentary only say that we are manies, Millions and more People around the Earth to live in PEACE and a few to make wars. We can have PEACE and eject the others who want wars. I know is not easy but if we trust in, we can in all Countries.

Heart breaking! Young men, soldiers, deserve to live their full Life! War is a crime!

That justifies the parents buying that Bach Stradivarius. That was beautiful and harder than you might think.

Yes...a great song...an Italian song. And it was played the first night that you spent in Italian Army. I was 20 yrs old, now I'm 53 yrs old but tears continue to fall even after 33 years

I played this when I was 14 it’s a great tune I was on a balcony in a civic hall first number of second half the audience never realised what I was going to do. The only thing I would say is she’s not placing the trumpet mouthpiece in the middle of her lips ? In my 40 plus years of playing I’ve found that if you continue with that you’ll soon loose your chops

In July 1862, US General Daniel Butterfield and his Brigade Bugler Oliver Wilcox Norton re arranged the Bugle Call Tattoo to finally found the 24 Notes we know today as Taps. The first six notes have been adapted man Times. So by Nini Rosso a hundred years later as he composed Il Silenzio
