India is a country with large varieties. This type of offensive and vulgar things is never acceptable for good Indian people who live life based on values. These cannot be enjoyed by a tamilian , keralite especially. We don't entertain sexism, body shaming, caste , racism by any degree. Even the jokes normalize these bad trends . So osr u guys are so good when u say about art. But when u react to such stuff we get so hurt. I watch it with my younger brother. He literally hated it and went away. So be careful all your audience are not above 18.

Well the AIB guys are doing really well for themselves and are still best friends. Tanmay and Rohan are very very successful comics, tanmay's KZread channel is an absolute riot, Ashish Shakya has his comedy specials and Gursimran Khamba has his own show too. But man, I miss AIB. Their content was honestly a cultural reset.

Wasn’t the metoo allegation against Khamba? And as far as I remember they agreed to knowing about it and still didnt do anything to confront Khamba. It’s sad people still want to see Khamba perform. The roast was good though. I never got the opportunity to watch it.

actually it was the first roast ever to be performed on a big stage in India and a lot of people at that time weren't ready for jokes like that. KZread wasn't a big thing back then, it has been portrayed negatively in the news channel but you look at it now and there is nothing wrong. if it happened now i bet a lot of people would accept it

The Catholic Church got offended, AIB had to issue an apology. Political groups got offended because of the gay jokes since homosexuality was still illegal back then. This Roast was ahead of its time!

I am pretty sure I remember their post roast podcast where they explained why some jokes were repetitive. They said although they could do a lot more funnier jokes, those jokes would only be funny to them since the larger audience didn't know the panel much. For example they could only do shitty woman jokes on aditi because for people to understand other clever jokes on aditi they would have to follow aditi's work which wasn't the case at the time. Other than 3 guys from Bollywood and Raghu, all panelist are unknown to larger audience in India.

The only difference is they improved on their skills as well while changing the topics they joke on, while the early Indian comedians just changed their topics and never improved their art!

They still doing good for themselves, but dude... AIB was KZread and KZread was AIB for us back then... Good old days.

A lot of jokes got censored or edited out in second half of roast....I remember there was news (or rumour) for one being on Salman's sister which got him angry and they didn't include that in video which they released. Few more could have met the same fate.

The thing that happened with Screen Junkies happened with AIB.A girl blamed one of the writer not main 4 of harassing her . At that moment of time Me Too was blowing up.She became face of India Me Too.She followed it up with claims that she took situation to higher ups but no one listened to her. Many women came forward to support her saying that writer was creep.Tanmay and Khamba resigned next day. AIB stopped functioning. After 2 year the writer started gathering information in his defense. Most of the women who supported that lady at that time now apologized to the writer.Turn out many just tweeted to support the lady.The lady then went out to blackmail that writer to stop releasing evidence in support of him but he recorded their whole conversation and released it online.what is the truth is not still clear but situation was not as black and white as appeared.

Ranveer Singh is the man to be applauded for being such a sport because most of the funny and mean stuff was on him and he took it like a champ whereas only little stuff was said about Arjun Kapoor and you could see him actually getting offended and angry a multiple times. Karan Johar had to cool him down at one point and make him sit . And the way Arjun Kapoor was roasting in his shrill piercing voice, it was difficult to bear at one time So Ranveer is the man of the roast and gets the cool points for being such a sport

@@gandalf6297 That also wasn't the only thing that got to him. Tanmay revealing his family members one by one to show how nepotism helped him massively also got to him. He got out of seat to go to Tanmay during the roast. This kind of thing really makes him look more bad & obnoxious than he already is perceived. It really didn't feel like he was into this roast, it felt like his PR team & manager forced him to do it.

But are your values so brittle that they get broken by a few jokes made at people ? why would our values get rattled by them ? Which values of Bhagat singh are being "raped" here ?

From an Indian being in America ..the reason why those jokes are okay in India is because the sensitivity of 'Black' issues are more like a distant land story. Talk something about Caste, Kashmir or Pakistan then it would require hardcore fans to enjoy the jokes..

I loved this roast but was really disappointed that couldn't come up with some genuine jokes about Ashish Shakya. IT's like nobody could look past his skin color ...and that thing about the society as a whole is disturbing. I really enjoyed the rest of the roast.

3 years ago in High school i saw this first time and this was the best thing i have ever come across youtube. All though some jokes about Ashish Skhya were Racist but overall the show was super good and something unique.

This was a big deal in that time and it makes me sad that people in india are hell of offensive people more than even Americans do this something which I want to changed 😌

I watched this back then and trust me till date the over confidence, arrogance, self obsessed nature of Arjun Kapoor hasn't Mellowed down even an ounce. Blabbering without any contribution to Indian Cinema just bcz you belong to second famous Kapoor Family. Even Kunal Kapoor having the same last name has contributed more even after working in lesser films with that modest attitude.

It was a false allegation of me too, the accused was the guy in Video 'The day India Resigned'. The girl's side actually put obstacles in the way of justice and prevented the guy from putting out his side of story. The guy posted his SIde of story online with text screenshots etc years later. But in the process we lost a gem like AIB.

The only reason why USA and India is different is for the same reason. We calll it "Sharam & Lihaaj",could translate to "a point beyond one should not go"!! If that ends, then everything ends. That is why in US ppl don't respect their elders but in India we do!!(statistically more in no.). Such roasts are not bad for adult audience but seriously damaging for the kids. The question is not about wheather to stop it or not. The question is how to stop children from watching all of this. Cause adults know when not to use foul language but children would not! And after that children lose humility. So okay for adults, not okay for kids. And KZread has a large population of Kids and younger audience. It is just your making. However you wish to make the future generation. Do it but really needs hard consent and privacy rules.

Ya and the elders in this country literally abuse kids under the guise of correcting them. Roasts are meant to be hard-core and in the West you could be sued for any random thing so people don't joke at all, have you seen double meaning jokes and stuff that happens in India, Roasts happen when people agree to it, they consent to it in the USA, it is called dark humour. I guess we should get over the East vs West narrative and stop making ourselves the custodians of culture, they have their own culture and have moved way ahead of us. So we should keep minding our own business.

Also it's the parent's responsibility to see if tue child should see the content or not, KZread is a free platform. Indians have been using foul language that too misogynistic ones since centuries so shove that holier than thou attitude in your pocket Asian parents in general are known to stay in horrible marriages, expose their kids to terrible relatives who lower their self confidence, are known to be internally racist, misogynist and sexist in their own homes, the academic pressure coupled with interference in their children's life is enough to let a child lose his "humility", each culture has it's own problems. Let's just not go there and take a roast as a roast.

Things have changed since this roast, something like this will not happen today.

Netflix did a roast of anurag kashyap and anil kapoor with tanmay bhat to promote ak vs ak.. which was pretty good aswell

This is still the best thing Arjun and Ranveer(after Deepika obviously) has been in.

And Bill Burr has a Netflix special dedicated to white women getting offended on behalf of other races. Watch Paper tigers. It's all about how comedians are being attacked in America. Sorry man, I love you, I love your enthusiasm but you've this special ability to target people over a specific thing that is not truly that specific. Disney cancelled Gina Carano for a very silly thing that I'm hoping you're familiar with. Getting cancelled and getting offended is a bigger problem in America compared to India.

Roasting is mostly reality bites about the person at some point n done well, it's hilarious, interesting n gives more exposure to these folks n allows for character building n rectification of past mistakes in themselves n their careers.This was enjoyable, yes n it's sad that they disbanded as an interesting comedy company...the only things not enjoyable and will never be (even if some decide that's funny)are jokes on skin colour, appearance,size ,topics like rape that are so horrible n horrific with severe life lasting consequences that leave the individual scarred for life...Even for comedians doing that now or ever ,these topics are just so not funny or entertaining (unless they r for people who are just not thinking about that )n if you can't joke about a person beyond the colour of their skin or size ,they are just that awesome and you are not that great at writing jokes especially with regard to a person who is famous in their own right.Other than that ,this was enjoyable and also a cue to people to be more accepting of stints like roasts n learn to appreciate n learn from that experience 🙏💟

Guys, would strongly recommend watching the roast with Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. It's the funniest roast I have seen recently, and as a Hindi speaker, the jokes hit even harder! But do gets subs for it though, cause it's mostly in Hindi. Definitely worth your time! 👍

We still missing aib plz come back bow a time the people will appreciate you rather than hare
