AI and creativity | The Royal Society

Ғылым және технология

This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2024.
AI is everywhere, from chatGPT writing your essays to MidJourney and DALL-E creating pictures. Generative AI is taking on tasks we previously thought were uniquely human.
What are the latest advances in machine creativity, and where does it leave the human artist?
Artist Eric Drass (aka shardcore) investigates the current state of generative AI and what it means for the future of human creativity.
The Royal Society is a Fellowship of many of the world's most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.

This speaker sounds rather sanguine about issues of IP and copyright. Perhaps because his income isn't derived from producing works in a single identifiable style, as many illustrators/musicians/writers are... Mark Ryden, the illustrator whose name was probably prompted to make the spooky goth children in the video, may not be as happy to 'contribute' to Drass's work without compensation or consent.
