Huyang saying "you do come from a long line of non traditional jedi" is a huge understatement. Working back from Ahsoka and Anakin to Obi Wan, Qui-Gon, Dooku and Yoda. Each having a major hand in shaping the galaxy as it is at this point. Can't wait to see how this all plays out and future for Sabine.

Sabine knows how to fix machines like a Jedi, she knows how to maneuver the ship to make a kill like a Jedi. She knows how to solve puzzles like a Jedi. Now to get it all together.

Reason you can imagine them animating the scenes, is because the creator Dave Filoni, who also made the animated shows, drew every single shot in hand the way he imagined it for this whole show. Also, Bail Organa died when Aldeeran blew up in ep 4, and Mon Mothma will not send any help, like the rest, exactly how she didn’t take Thrawn seriously in heir to the empire, a book triology that took place almost at the same time as this show, and is considered the true sequal triology by many fans.

I’m an absolute sucker for awesome training scenes, and this might become one of my favorites! Not only does it feel like so many classic samurai films, it also shows how ANYONE can be open to the Force in Star Wars, as long as they not only have the talent but the willingness to be open to The Force, which goes against many of the teachings of Mandalorian culture. As for the Senate hearing, as much as I hate the old trope of “there isn’t enough evidence to support your crazy theory”, how many times throughout modern history has this happened, where a majority government officials either don’t believe or don’t WANT to believe a long believed dead or weakened enemy has come back? Still seeing Jacen talking with Mama Hera about AUNT Sabine made my heart melt! Also, Ahsoka going out into space to fight starfighters with just her lightsabers is absolutely an Anakin move if you watch Clone Wars!

Winter Soldier had a similar plot about the bad guys being recruited to work for the good guys, because it happened in real life. We hired a bunch of former nazis to work for us because we were afraid of Stalin and the USSR back in the day so it happens. Also if you remember a lot of the senators were obvious to the struggles of the other people and other worlds out that like we have seen so it only makes sense that there would be a bunch who don't believe that stuff until they see it right in front of their eyes.

Other good senator other than Padme, of course....Riyo Chuchi. I like how Ahsoka is not necessarily training Sabine to be a "jedi"....bur rather training forms so that when her connection to the force "clicks" she can then fill in those forms to combine with her already amazing skills as a Mandolorian and engineer and be more Sabine. I like how connection to the force isn't something you can necessarily train...but something that has to "click" differently with each individual. Kinda like balancing a bike when learning to ride a bicycle. I like how Ahsoka told her to "start small" in getting the connection to click. I LOVED the reappearnce of the whales. I hope they have to get swallowed by one Pinocchio/Jonah style in order to get to the new galaxy.

I loved this episode, especially since we finally got to see the full live-action appearance of the Purrgil as well as the live-action debut of Jacen Syndulla. Also, the senator that Hera argues with is Hamato Xiono, father of Kazuda Xiono from "Star Wars Resistance".

I love how Hera said, "You don't know that!", just like a mother who got triggered at the notion of being told Ezra, her "other" son, was dead. I hope that at one point on the show, we get to see Sabine wearing her Mandalorian helmet and also flying with her jet pack. I hope we get to see a flashback at some point of when Ahsoka previously trained Sabine years ago and why she chose to do that and why she stopped. I will say, I still am missing the more vibrant, less stoic Ahsoka. I know Ahsoka's been through a lot, but she always still managed to maintain her quippiness and more "animated", charismatic nature, even when she got serious. That's not to say I am not loving the show now, but just hope this show also ends up teaching Ahsoka something too and she ends up finding the fun in life again.

Sabine is the ultimate weapon type badass in the Rebels, it's only logical to downgrade her a little bit and make her up there again slowly in this series. Mon Mothma, much as we like her as a rebel in Andor, is no better than the other senators. Her obsession with pacifism and demilitarization make her into a terrible post-war leader. She is not a friend to Hera or Ahsoka, no matter how pleasant she might be. Mon is the very reason why the republic will be vulnerable to Thrawn and any other threats.

@ The Movie Couple, 16:54 If it helps, think of episodes 1 through 6 as the American Civil War. The Union treated the traitorous Confederates with kid gloves. The Union quickly moved to reconcile their differences and got to work on rebuilding the war-torn country. That desire to bring everyone back together stifled American progress. Enslaved Black Americans were freed, sure, but America gave them nothing in compensation for their service to the Union, and no reparations of any kind were ever paid to them. What's a free people to do with no home, money, or job to do? Many ended up returning to the plantations where they were enslaved for slave wages because they needed food and a place to stay. Reconstruction was overseen by former confederates and they made damn sure they had a seat at the table, steering the government in a way that benefited them and it won them elections and power. The US never really became whole, as I'm sure you're seeing now. America's Right is Far Right now, and there is no middle ground with them. The New Republic is the Union Army that desperately wanted to put the war between former family/friends behind them and quickly move on with the much-needed reconstruction. Sure there are some rotten eggs, but they are few and far between--that's what the Senators with Mon Mothma are implying, anyway. Former Imperials, like the Confederates, gave their word for the most part, they've been good little boys and girls, and they are working hard to make the galaxy a better place for "everyone." The Imperials have packed the senate, and sadly, the former members of the Rebellion are powerless (blind?) to stop what's coming. They want to believe so badly that they have beaten the Emperor and his band of loyalists, and that the New Republic will prevail...like the Union did. Those who didn't fight in the war, like the well-to-do that we saw in the Mandalorian, and some of the senators now who didn't have to really worry about the galactic war are going to look the other way, which isn't unlike most Americans from the Northern States did during the Jim Crow years--Imperial policies won't really affect them, besides there's money to be made, which is exactly what DJ was talking about in the Last Jedi. As long as they're thriving, they won't see anything wrong with what's going on. Bad things aren't happening to them, after all. What's going on in Star Wars now politically, is very believable! We have examples in history of this, especially we Americans.

I am “Back On My Bullsh_t™” this week, because I went from 90% sure last week to dang near 100% sure that Marrok is *some version* of Starkiller now that I heard Sam Witwer’s (heavily modulated) voice coming out of Marrok’s helmet. Go compare it to General Kael’s voice in the Willow show, it sounds nearly identical but with perhaps slightly more digital manipulation. It’s interesting that they only credited Paul Darnell (the stunt actor who wears the suit) this week. Darnell is the same size and build as Witwer, and has said before he’s not playing Marrok, “only” doing the stunt work. I can’t help but wonder if they saw the fan predictions and theories and all the scrutiny Witwer’s name in the credits got last week and removed it this week at the last minute to try and preserve as much of their reveal as they could? For those who didn’t see my comment last week, I’m so confident it’s Starkiller because of comments Dave has made about Starkiller in the past, and because of the Mortis gods symbolism. To recap: You have Ahsoka. We saw in TCW that she comes to be both the literal and figurative embodiment of The Daughter, and the light side of the force. Morai has been following her around for years at this point. This is the most concrete connection; the most obvious. But then we go a step farther. Who represents The Father? Not Ahsoka’s literal father, obviously, because in the galactic scale he’s pretty irrelevant, and certainly he doesn’t have force significance. But Anakin? They always had more of a brother/sister dynamic interpersonally, but a master is like a parent to a padawan in form and function. Teaching, instructing, growing, nurturing. Ahsoka was, in many ways, his *force* progeny, even though she clearly wasn’t his literal kid. But remember, Anakin was something else before he was Vader, and even before he was Ahsoka’s master. He was the chosen one, who would *bring balance to the force* according to prophecy. What’s the Father’s whole bag? The *balance* of light and dark. Anakin directly walked both paths, light and dark, and was the chosen one who it was believed would bring balance to the force. He’s the Father. Ahsoka is The Daughter. So who represents the Son on the dark side of the force? Well, Anakin had one other apprentice. ONLY one other apprentice. A male (again, Son) force user Anakin trained in secret to use the dark side of the force when Anakin was known as Darth Vader. A character Dave Filoni told Sam Witwer directly (according to Witwer) that Filoni considered making an Inquisitor to begin with in Rebels. Galen. *Marek*

Is the Galactic Empire better than the Galactic Republic? It depends on one's point of view. The Galactic Empire as depicted in the Star Wars series was a totalitarian regime that ruled with an iron fist, while the Galactic Republic was a more democratic government. It turns out that both have their flaws and strengths. From a moral point of view, it could be argued that the Galactic Republic is a better system of government, but the military strength and effectiveness of the Empire in maintaining control over its territories may be seen as an advantage by some. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal opinion. But the main reason for the Empire is to be prepared for much worse threats from unexplored areas. ---- Crosshair once said, "Republic / Empire, what a difference." You know what he means, Andor Show show us. No one is good or bad. More than most people are Gray, just like in real life. We also saw how "good" Rebel Alliances are. You know, even Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Legends is better than Ghost Squad, and I'm still with the fact that in Seaqual they remade Luke as a character out of all the Egoistic,... Jedi like Mace who dug their own graves.

The end of Episode 2 is not the same as the Rebels Finale. Ahsoka takes place in the same time line as The Mandalorian...7-10 years ABE, after the Battle of Endor. A lot of viewers are assuming the final scene where Ahsoka picks up Sabine is the exact final scene from the end of Rebels. It's not. It is a callback but they are two seperate occassions. The scene at the end of Rebels is where Ahsoka picks up Sabine to begin their initial search for Ezra. During that time, Ahsoka begins Sabine's initial Jedi training which fails. We know this based on Huwang's comments and Sabine's recolletion of the ship when she re-enters in Episode 2. The scene in Ep 2 is their reunion, 2nd attempt to locate Ezra/Thrawn and train Sabine.

I'm sorry, Ms Tano. Talent means nothing if the midi-chlorian level is not high enough. The third episode of Ahsoka showcased why I absolutely LOVE midi-chlorians! If the Force resides in all living things, then why doesn't everybody use it? I grew up with the original trilogy, and that question plagued me for years. The Phantom Menace eventually came a long. Finally, I had an answer: midi-chlorians! When I was growing up, I thought learning the Force was like learning any other skill. When Yoda said that Luke was too old to start Jedi training, then I figured that becoming great with the Force was one of those skills that are best learned at an early age. For instance, just about anyone an do a cartwheel or swing from a rope. But if you want to compete in gymnastics at the Olympic or get a job as an aerialist in Cirque de Soleil, then that will be near impossible if your training started at age 20. In terms of Luke Skywalker, I figured that him being "strong with the Force" meant that innate talent that naturally made me better than most. Thus, he was able to excel at his Force training, despite his age. I considered Luke's gift of the Force was akin to professional wrestler Diamond Dallas Page's gift for professional wrestling. Most wrestlers start training in their late-teens or early 20s. Page didn't make his in-ring debut until his 30s. Despite being "too old" to start a wrestling career, DDP became a high profile star and won several championships and industry recognitions. But still... if Luke Skywalker is equivalent to DDP, then shouldn't most people in the galaxy be able to perform bare basic Force abilities? If using the Force was based on skill and talent, then there ought to be a base level that anyone can accomplish. Right? Not everyone can levitate starships with their minds, but shouldn't the average person be able to levitate a leaf or a pen? Blow out a candle from across the room? SOMETHING!? Few people can be a world famous award winning genre redefining musical composer, like John Williams, but everybody can at least hum a tune. Know what I mean? Shouldn't there be a "hum a tune" level of Force capability? Midi-chlorians! It comes down to midi-chlorians! They are the answer! Thank you George Lucas! Thank you!

So, my general idea is that some people, with very intense meditation/training/discipline, can perhaps be like Chirrut from Rogue One or the other Guardians of the Whills. They can sense the Force, they are in tune with it, they may hear it, but will not really be able to manipulate it or do mind tricks or Force healing, or things like that. Even in our world, there are monks who can do biofeedback type things through intense meditation. So, I think Ahsoka is taking this type of approach - given that she is already non-traditional - that she is trying to train Sabine in the general ethics/philosophy/mindfulness of a Jedi, but without all of the flashy abilities (which, in her mind, might be an indication that the Jedi became too reliant on stuff like that instead of their actual purpose). I bet age is also a part of it, but ultimately I agree with you that there is a point where discipline/focus can only take you so far. I'm actually hoping Sabine is never able to really levitate anything (or if she does, a miniscule amount). But being a Jedi is about more than lifting rocks too, it's really (or should be) more about a way of life and being. I absolutely love your John Williams comparison, haha.

I will become a Mandalorian n learn the force on my own, I’m extremely talented after all.

The name of the show and who it is focused on is irrelevant to me. The show is called "Ahsoka" for marketing. They didn't want to make non-"cartoon" watchers feel this wasn't for them. If this was an animated show they would have called it "Rebels" Season 5.

Regarding the cynicism about the senators, have you been following our current politicians? All the quality of their behavior seems unreal, but we are given daily examples of this in our world. I really like knowing nothing about the animated series. Frees me of the kind of comparison critique that I see so many of you responders doing with this series. Much more interesting to be washed with the story fir the first time.

I think we don't see the character of Sabine, whose personality we have created in our heads,She was never excited when a ship hit and she was not so insecure.
