    Ahsoka review of Season 1 Episode 5 with Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin for a young clone wars Ahsoka. While his talents are undeniable, it simply highlights how bad adult Ahsoka is, and makes it more laughable when she beats him in the fight. The rest of the story, is largely waffle or talking about giant space whales. Giant space whales, something everyone tunes into Star Wars for. But this is Disney Star Wars, and so the cinema Ahsoka special turned out to be, a slightly improved version of what we had all season. Albeit with some nice effects in places. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

    8:04 this is someone who trained for weeks for every fight during Lucas' time and had every movement meticulously choreographed first by using 3D renditions for weeks vs someone who relies on the kindness of the stunt men and a day of swinging a stick around... You'll see the difference between old Hollywood and new Hollywood... To the idiots who say the prequels fights were bad, you guys are just coping... You aren't smart enough to point out why the prequels was bad because you only found it boring but that's very subjective so you guys are just looking creating fake reasons from thin air... The prequels fights were the best of the franchise, stop deceiving yourselves... The prequels is bad, not as bad as prequel fans are making it out to be not even close, definitely not even close to be being as had as the sequels and if it was released in this modern era of Hollywood flops, it would have been one of the best movies because half of the very good movies would be average at best in classic Hollywood time period... But just because you don't like something, that doesn't mean you can't give credit where it's due otherwise you're just being bitter...

    Remember they casted a professional stunt man to play Darth Maul just because of his ability with martial arts. They trained forever to get Hayden and Ewan to the point shown in the movies. So either you hire people that are already used to physical stun choreography or you train them up to be. If you want the make the fight scenes look good that is.

The actress did a FABULOUS job Hayden Christensen's Lightsaber Skills remain off the chart and his acting of both Light Anakin and Dark Anakin was spot on. It's a JOY to see that the Saber Training Hayden learned from Nick Gillard are still with him. In fact, Gillard should be the only Saber Trainer & Choreographer on all future Star Wars Projects.

It could have been a powerful moment when something finally breaks/clicks in where she hardens herself and then runs in. They could even contrast it with showing Anakin hyping himself up while hinting that he's using frustration and anger where Ashoka is trying to calm herself.

Whenever I have to consider the sequel trilogy in anything resembling a serious way, I take this theory as fact (replacing “Snoke” with “Palpatine”). I also take it as read that Snoke was influencing Luke, and it was Luke’s sense of guilt and self-doubt over letting himself be influenced into nearly killing his nephew that drove him to hermitude. It doesn’t “fix” the sequels, but it at least makes them semi-palatable and restores the heroes of the actual trilogies to something vaguely resembling themselves.

    I'm really getting tired of people just having or getting abilities for basically no reason or because the plot needs them to have them. Jedi who are strong in the force can sense ripples when big events are happening. We see examples of this in ROTS/Clone Wars S7 when Yoda senses all the Jedi being killed during Order 66 and Ahsoka senses Anakin's fall to the dark side when he cuts on Mace Windu's hand and Darth Sidious yeets him out the window. However, the ability that Ahsoka uses here with the orb isn't that. It's an ability called Pyschometery, which basically allows a Force user to sense echoes of people who have previously interacted with an object. The only cannon example of this is in the Jedi: Fallen Order/Survivor games with Cal Kestis. They make clear that this is an extremely rare ability, even amongst Jedi. Ahsoka has never had this ability, so why can she use it now all of a sudden? Answer: because the plot needs her to, or else they'd never know what happened to Sabine (even though it wouldn't be that difficult to figure out seeing as she's not laying there dead, and presumably isn't in the forest nearby, where else could she be?). "The plot needs it" is not a valid reason to give someone an ability, especially a rare one. Also, we finally got some okay fight choreography. Ahsoka seems to be fighting with her actual style again, but wow her skills are bad. Seriously, could Dawson not be bothered to learn to sword fight like Hayden and Ewan did, or at the very least, could they not have put in a stunt double to do it? It was absolutely laughable how much better Hayden was (though it would completely make sense for Anakin to be that much better than Ahsoka), but Ahsoka is at least skilled. She single-handedly captured Darth Maul. She's not this bad. I have nothing against Dawson as an actor, but if you know she can't do the choreography, please quit making her try. I swear, if I see Ahsoka pull out a single lightsaber and fight like a samurai with big powerful SLOW swings one more time, I'm gonna lose it

    Yes, I recall Anakin relentlessly training her skills with the lightsaber in Tales Of The Jedi. Seriously, canon Ahsoka survived Order 66 while being on a Venator surrounded by Clones, she beat and captured Maul before and she had Vader dead to rights in Rebels. Also, she has fought and beaten multiple Inquisitors. Not necessarily by strength, but through dexterity and her wits. I'd say that puts canon Ahsoka into or close to the top 10% bracket of Duelists. Her actress should reflect that by being given proper training. But Rosario Dawson is probably a tad too old for that and Disney simply doesn't care.

    I don't mind her fighting slow and samurai-like, it could be used to show how she's become more patient, efficient and less flashy now that she's older. Kinda channeling Alec Guinness Obi Wan, she did learn a lot from him too. It would be cool if they were thinking like that instead of it just being down to bad choreography and lack of training, it could show interesting character development.

    Ahsoka beating Anakin twice was just silly (again). Especially because it was so obviously a set up. If she has said something like "there is more to the Force than a skill with the lightsaber" and then done something different, it would have worked far better. As if we honestly can believe she would beat Anakin... 🙄 Filoni is just taking the Mickey with the Purgill - making them look even more like actual whales. And why were there so many? As soon as they reach the other galaxy, Thrawn and the Chimaera survivors will all fall down in horror at their worst nightmare returning!

Which with the EU, books, video games, clone wars, rebels, comics books, and fan films, has to be one of the most brain dead statements of all time. Much like in the ttrpg world they sat "no D&D is better than bad D&D" the same should be said for star wars. I'd rather have nothing than what they're giving us.

  • @johnnycrown5097
    @johnnycrown50979 ай бұрын

    Filoni is retconning ashoka's personality from the clone wars... She didn't want the war to end because she didn't know what she would do with herself in a time if peace... If anything, it was Anakin that wanted the war to end because he was married and wanted some alone time with padme... He prefered looking for shortcuts to end a fight because ge didn't have time for patience like Jedis do, he wanted the battle to end... What's the point of referencing better shows and bringing back old characters for fanservice if they're not going to behave the way we remember them??? Do they think a character is just his costume, his actor and his name??? Why bother showing us the clone wars if they're not going to behave like they did in the clone wars... When has ahsoka cared this much about clones dying??? They were literally made for this... This only applies for a pointless death like bad strategy, bettayal, accident, disobeying orders and sacrifice, you know, things that involves wasting kives pointlessly, not when they died in war in general... They won't exist without the war, they're ready to die but they don't want to waste their lives on something pointless... I'm sure this us confusing to the people who for some reason still thinks filoni made the clone wars show because god forbid george gets any single credit... Filoni was just the director, lucas was the producer... He hid away from the caneras because of manchildren who hated gim because they were rold to hate and they watched a boring movie but they tryly want to convince themselves that they're snart enough to understand the olot of the prequels and they know why it's bad as they all come up with different contradicting reasons from thin air that doesn't even make sense anymore, all to avoid saying they were just bored of it and to make sure the reason directly affect lucas and not the shitty acting even if they got nothing, even the so called clunky dialogue isn't even enough to go past a nitpick... Even disparu made one dumb criticism of the prequels here, saying yoda was jumping around using lightsaber even though that's the most effective way for him to fight and those idiots who say he shouldn't be using lightsabers, what the hell should he use then??? The force??? You do remember when he said the force shouldn't be used for attack in the OT??? Now don't you all feel stupid... Fucking contradicting themselves left and right just to have something bad to say, fucking cringe... Filoni doesn't know anything about writing and how to bring back the tone he f star wars which had this militarized feel to it unlike the Disney iterations which feel campy and cheesy, like it's a student council, like it's highschool... That's why andor was more star warsy than the mandalorian and everything else disney has created by a mile... The Disney star wars has veen missing politicking... Not real life politics shoehorned intio our escapist fantasy, i mean politics in the story's world itself,the batural politics of the world and people performing politics against themselves... Non of these Disney rubbish can ever achieve that apart from andor because they don't know any other polutics except the one of their ideologies in real life which must always be portrayed as the answer to everything, the correct politics to achieve paradise, the perfect politics, hence, they have no other ways of portraying the politics in the universe because even their ideological real life politics, they only know bullet points of the imagined and hopeful results, not gow the politics itself works so thry don't know how to establish it in their story's world...

At this point, I’m convinced viewers don’t care about plot lines or dialogue, they just want to see characters and ‘member berries over and over again. This show has repeatedly shown you could be borderline mentally deficient and still manage to do extraordinary feats. This show is quite literally a slot machine with familiar characters lining the rows up for a serotonin jackpot for the viewers. There’s no depth or substance needed with that.

    Clone Wars Anakin isn't better, he was just given a more generic "hero personality" to appeal to a younger audience. Most of his flaws from the movies aren't there, he's almost an entirely different person who wouldn't realistically turn into Vader. Anakin is an emotionally unstable individual, who wouldn't be capable of mentoring an apprentice like Ahsoka in Filoni's show, without at least passing on to her some of his own problems. Anakin's portrayal in episode 3 is perfect, as long as you can stomach the imperfections of someone who would actually turn into Vader. Now, if you want a more heroic and stable Disneyfied version of Anakin, then you'll want to stick to kid's shows, that's for sure.

If anakin were to pull anyone crucial out, it would disrupt everyone connected to that person. Such as if pulling out kanan before he died, would lead to all of them dying. The reason why Ezra could do it to Ahsoka, was because he didn't know, and because she was by herself with Vader, with no one else to harm. Also, the whole time thing isn't the only reason for the existence of the world between worlds. It is also not confirmed whether a force ghost can actually interfere with the living, physically. So yeah, there's your explanation.
