Hayden Christensen being back as Vader is going to be LEGIT AGAIN.

In Sabine's narration at the end of Rebels, she says "And with the decisive victory at the battle of Endor..." that was referencing Return of the Jedi, so this takes place sometime after the Mandalorian which was after Return. Also, that was likely Ezra's lightsaber that Sabine had. Remember at the end of Rebels, Chopper tossed it to her and that's what she used to cut open the window they escaped from the Dome with... she's had his lightsaber since then. EDIT: Thrawn is played by Lars Mikkelson, the same actor that voiced him in Rebels. :)

Lars Mikkelsen is reprising his role for Thrawn in Ahsoka. He was the voice of Thrawn in Rebels and its amazing he's the live action Thrawn as well. The last scene in Rebels and all of Ahsoka happens after Vader's death and the fall of the Empire.

It's after episode 6, the blue uniforms show its the New Republic. They may have flashbacks but I dont know

Maybe it's the Benedryl, maybe it was just the freaking amazing trailer! Though I was late to the party, a big Rebels fan and loved Thrawn since I first read the books in high school (90's because I'm old) so very keen for this. As for timing, I think it's post Return of the Jedi: • Bail Organa shows up in most rebellion meetings, yet is absent as Hera appeals to the group leaders. • The easter egg quote "Heir to the Empire" suggests a link to the Legends novel of the same name • We have seen Zeb as a Republic pilot in Mando • Republic General Hera Syndulla appears in the video game Star Wars Squadrons

There's also a thread in Mando season 3 that teases this as being the timeline for some of the things we are seeing in the Ashoka trailer.

As a massive fan of Thrawn and seeing his front image at SW Celebration 2023 it got a massive roar of approval from the crowd. This trailer does that again...its going to be so good and Thrawn (my 2nd most fav character in SW after Vader) makes it even better....and Ahsoka of course :)

Keenan was Sabine's Trainer, it's only natural she would choose a jedi to train her further.

What you see at the end of Star Wars- Rebels takes place shortly after the events of Return Of The Jedi, which opens the opportunity for Disney to bring in what is classified as 'Legends' and add stories like 'Heir To The Empire' (1992) and 'Dark Empire' (Dark Horse Comics, 1992) into canon.

This is taking place around the same time that Mando is happening, so after Return of the Jedi!! Also ... the actor playing Thrawn is the same guy who played him in Rebels, so you can hear his voice anytime you want!! Great reaction Chica and hope you feel better soon!!!

There seems to be leaks that say that Ahsoka S1 is happening concurrently with Mandalorian S3.

A second observation - I am totally here for them utilisong Sabine as some form of Force sensitive. Clone Wars did a decent job fleshing out some that were face only in the prequels, but the mainstream/live action content is mostly dudes with lightsabers, so I'm all for spreading the love around.

Sabine being a padawan to Ahsoka has me so excited!

The blond girl reminds me of Darth Zana in the EU books. She was Darth Bane's apprentice.

Sabine has Ezra's light saber.

This is going to be fun! I have no words for my excitement.

I loved the play on the quote I am no jedi and Ahsoka is Sabine's master only in terms of teaching her how to fight with Ezra's lightsaber however I do remember Kanan telling Hera that everyone is connected to the force you just have to be opened to it so we can't rule out the possibility that she may have developed some force sensitivity during her training

Man, I am *SO PSYCHED* for this show!!

The timeline of AHSOKA would have to be after MANDALORIAN S3. Thrawn was in hiding, and Ahsoka was asking about Thrawn in S2. We’ve always assumed the finale of REBELS with Sabine and Ahsoka happened immediately after the Battle of Endor. Yet what we saw of Sabine with the short, black hair here and the mural looks just like what we saw at the very end of REBELS. Maybe what we’re seeing in AHSOKA is that scene in live-action. Love Sabine but not a fan of her being a Force user. She’s cool enough as she is with Mandalorian armor, blasters, explosives, and her art. Bo-Katan used the dark saber without Force powers.

Jon Favreau himself said this is Rebels season 5 and this trailer proves that in spades, its also clearly, obviously a prequel to the movie Heir to the Empire, which is why that phrase is capitalised that way in the subtitles, if you go back and look at it

I think this takes place after ROTJ, since the Heir to the Empire takes place after the Battle of Endor. I do realize that Heir is not considered cannon, but Dave Feloni and Gutman have been somewhat true to the legends universe.

This is set after Mando. 8 years after RotJ, Luke is building his academy, Anakin is redeemed, Thrawn has emerged from the unknown regions, Sabine has Ezra's lightsaber.

In MY opinion, Sabine isnt force sensative. But she does hold onto Ezra's light saber. Sabine held the Dark Saber and was being trained by Kanan to wield it, and briefly by Ahsoka. Calling her master could mean a buttload of things: mocking that relationship, or submitting to her training. Anyway, glad we are getting 2 episodes lol

That's my take too. She trained to be able to use a lightsaber, but doesn't mean she's a Jedi. Any number of occupations have masters and apprentices and Sabine always had a snarky take on authority figures. So either a.) she was being snarky or b.) she was being sincere, but not as a Jedi master/apprentice. Also, Ahsoka does not claim to be a Jedi anymore since she was removed from the Order and never returned to it so her taking on a Jedi apprentice wouldn't make since. (She also didn't take Grogu as an apprentice either and this takes place after that as well.)

I'm just so excited to see the late great Ray Stevenson in this. And it feels like his character will be amazing. I've been a fan of his since the incredible HBO series "Rome" - such a powerful presence on screen.

Lars was the original voice of thrawn. He also played a cold and calculated character in the BBC SHerlock

My speculation: I don't think Sabine is force sensitive, or not a force-user at least, but Ahsoka probably is her master in terms of teaching her how to use a lightsaber. Sith and inquisitors have hunted the Jedi for a generation now, I think maybe it's time to hunt them in turn, and Sabine is/has been trained to be that hunter.

we don't know whether or not she is Force sensitive...yet. She's a descendant of Tarre Viszla and Kanan does say she has to open herself up to the Force, so the hints are there.

Everyone is connected to the Force. Regardless of how weak it may be, all people have the capability to channel the Force in some way, some more successfully than others.

this should be taking place around Mandolorian time frame. Since Ahsoka is searching for thrawn, in mando, and in this trailer she said she has heard whispers of him

RIP to Ray Stevenson who plays Baylan. I really wish he had lived long enough to see this series come to fruition. That, and I was hoping for an on screen reunion of him and Kevin McKidd reprising his role of Fenn Rau from Rebels.

It's the day AFTER the premiers you need off, for all the rewatching.

This gets released a day from my birthday. Ive watched the movies since i was a 70's kid, read the books, watched the new pre-trilogy... now ive watched this new trilogy and its the cartoon series i more look forward to... which Ahsoka is derived from. I think the TV series has much more depth than these new trilogy called "Disney Wars" is trying to shove down our throats.

Apparently, Ahsoka takes place five years after Anakin’s death. Sabine cutting her hair is a callback to Kanan cutting his hair before he died.

From what I've heard, it happens roughly the same time as Mandalorian season 3, so around 9 or 10 years after the Siege of Lothal and the Battle of Yavin.

Don't forget - the darksaber isn't a Jedi weapon. Both Din and Bo can wield it, as well as Sabine, so force sensitivity is not a requirement.

Assuming that it's just been awhile since you've seen Rebels, the events of the final episode take place prior to events of Rogue One and the Battle of Yavin; there's also a "post-script" montage narrated by Sabine bringing the series up to speed after the Battle of Endor. And I think that we should all just take a breath and not read too much into Sabine calling Ahsoka, "Master." While I concede that the possibility of Sabine being force sensitive on some level, it was never really addressed in Rebels. Sabine may just have received some rudimentary training from Ahsoka appropriate for a non-force user because she wanted to be able to make better use the lightsaber left behind by Ezra.

This is Rebels season 5 and that makes me happy. I was very moved by the shot of the mural. Rebels is a great show that started as a very childish series and closed as one of the best SW products. I await this continuation with great joy and anticipation. Also, Sabine as a padawan?!🎉

Not necessarily a Force-sensitive Mandalorian, more likely just trained by Ahsoka on lightsabre.

Thrawn is played by Lars Mikkelsen who is/was the Voice Actor of Thrawn..

Dave Filoni has taken the helm with a mostly female cast in this series, proving that well developed female characters blend seamlessly into the Star Wars Universe. This is pure art on the live action screen. The beloved Ahsoka, along with her friends, are going to take captive the hearts of the Star Wars fandom, now and in the future. I have to hand it to Filoni, he is an emotional bandit. The way he takes us along with the Ahsoka character, her life, her happiness as well as her pain. Ahsoka is the embodiment of the light side that Anakin had to offer, prepare for the tears to flow when she becomes a Jedi after all. She is one of my favorite characters of all time.

With regards to Sabine wielding a lightsaber, Kanen and Ezra gave her training so that she could wield the darksaber. Now .... Sabine is NOT force sensitive. But all Mandalorians are trained to counter and defend themselves against Jedi attacks. So Sabine need not be force sensitive to go toe-to-toe with a Jedi Padawan.

The show is taking place at the same time as the third season of The Mandalorian. Sabine has Ezra's lightsaber.

The show is after Mandalorian Seaason 3 probably therefore after Anakin's Death, you can hear Darth Vader Breath near 1:45 of the trailer when Baylan speaks about Anakin

Yea I am betting Sabine is force sensitive and that she is going to be in the vein of Jedi that ahsoka sees herself.

In a lot of Star Wars media many people in the universe seem to think that only Jedis can wield a light-saber, so I could see someone seeing Sabine use a light-saber and think that she is a surviving Jedi. Additionally the Star War Role-Playing Games had a character type called a Quixotic Jedi, which is alternately either someone who thinks/believes they are a Jedi, but only has minor if any force abilities, or someone who fakes being a Jedi with skill, tricks and technology.

I believe this takes place, at least in part, during the second season of The Mandolorian. Right after the cool not-jedi lady asks "What happens after we find Thrawn?", we see the woman from the episode of the Mandolorian when he meets Ahsoka, the one with the beskar spear.

Since this show is very much Dave Filoni's baby I'm optimistic about this show. Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera are my three favourite Star Wars gals, so it'll be great to see them reunited - and Lars Mikkelson IS Thrawn!

I think Sabine calls Ahsoka "master" because she has Ahsoka continue her lightsaber training with Ezra's lightsaber, like Kanan was doing when Sabine had the Darksaber. I think Ahsoka calls her stubborn because Sabine probably didn't expect the padawan of Anakin Skywalker to train her harder than Kanan. Remember, Sabine thought Kanan was training her too hard and was getting frustrated with him and it wouldn't surprise me if Ahsoka took it to a whole new level.

You can feel the Samurai and War torn soldiers vibe. Lars Mikkelsen looks perfect as Thrawn. The fact that he voiced him and now is playing him in Live-Action is 👌 After seeing the footage of Sabine holding Ezras lightsaber, it makes sense that Ahsoka taught her for a while. Hera is in the same situation as Cpt. Carson Teva in The Mandalorian. There's imagery that hints at stuff from The World Between Worlds, freaky stuff from The Clone Wars and Knights of the Old Republic. CAN'T WAIT!!!

I suspect Ahsoka was teaching Sabine fighting/saber skills, similar to brief lessons she had from Ezra, rather than a master/padawan jedi relationship, bit the recording of ezra hints im wrong, but it could all be out of context being a trailer I suppose, I was unsure of the live action Sabone for a while, but when she cut her hair ❤️❤️ ok perfect. Thrawn looks good, looks a little off but Im watching on a phone screen at work, so ill watch again later. I'm sort of hoping for a filler episode where Choppa and Jayson Sydula cause mayhem after getting seperated from Heera, aimilar to the rebels episode where chopper tries nicking a leg to replace his miamatched one 🤣🤣🤣🤣. That little guy is just awesome.
