I equally love the fact that this line was included, as I'm interpreting is as all the Star Wars stories we've come to know and love are stories being told to Jedi of the past and future, like Jedi who travelled to other galaxies and established themselves there and they tell the stories of what they knew before, but I also equally cringe at the line being included as a pure nostalgia bit

@@andrewprice8940 Wth are you talking about, it's a little easter egg in a show literally opposite to that idea, Filoni is starting anew in a new galaxy, telling original stories with his n ow much older originals characters. Nearly every character inn this show is the creation of Filoni, same for some of the tech, this new planet, these whales, and the first time Thrawn is on-screen and given a live action story. I think your reply only applies to the sequels, because everything else is original, even stuff like Rogue One and the spin off shows. Yes they use already established and worn out characters, but they're filling in the massive gaps of time between the films. If that's not what you're talking about, then idk lol. Anything involving FIloni is original.
It’s been said a million times, but what a loss Ray Stevenson is. Every time he’s on our screen he’s so captivating and brilliant but I can’t help but feel sad he isn’t with us. I also love how we are 6 episodes in and Baylan and Shin are still mysterious in a way.

If they tie it into the War in the Unknown Regions with the Yuuzhan Vong/Grysk, that would make sense why Thrawn wants to leave. I'd imagine things aren't going well in the Chiss Ascendancy with the war. I'm wondering if the dark force talking to Beylan is Abeloth.

@snerdterguson

I would love for there to be a tease of the Vong. Something to set up what is coming to the galaxy in 50 years or so. Just a shot of one of their ships hidden behind a moon when the Chimera jumps out of the galaxy. It was an interstellar flight from the main galaxy (outbound flight) that alerted the Vong to their presence. And it was decades and decades before they began their full invasion. Doing this allows them to have other run ins. Because there was the Praetorite Vong who had infiltrated some planets on the outer outer rim long before the full on invasion happened. Even if it isn't for a movie, I've always thought the NJO series would have made a great series. Live action or animated. And certainly aspects of it could be altered to fit the main canon.
I love how much Baylan’s motivation reminds me of Kreia from KOTOR II. A great villain echoing another great villain.

Kevin Kiner channeling his Vangelis/Hans Zimmer for the score. Ohh every episode of this show becomes my favourite every release. Also live action Thrawn and Ezra are perfect. Ezra more so, since we know Lars Mikkelsen is reprising. He looks and sounds exactly like an older Ezra while keeping that early Rebels charm. 10/10 casting for Ezra.

It was thanks to Blind Wave that I watched the show with an open mind, and ended up LOVING it! (Not to excuse a show/movie that might be terribly written, but sometimes what makes a show great, is overshadowed by minor flaws. Rebels was for a younger audience and the animation was odd at times, but beneath it was SO much lore, found-family dynamics, and lovable characters). Rebels is still one of my favorites to this day.

I love how Thrawns army has parrallels to the eastern roman empire. They kept on going while the Western Roman Empire fell. didn't think of the Eastern Roman Empire but ur right in the chaos of the complete collapse of the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire crawled out of the dust and debris, but especially they looked like this damaged, near-dead army in the final years of complete devastation and the Fall of Constantinople, when everything was pretty much doomed and they kept just fighting. Tbf it does recall myth and legend of some expeditionary force trapped in this unknown frontier, in this distant foreign wasteland, a bit of Odyssey in it.
One thing is for sure is that Cosplayers are gonna have a field day with the Night Troopers.
Whatever it is that Baylan is sensing has the potential to be truly epic. He has very advanced insight thru the force. He sees a LOT! What the heck does he see?!

The hermit crab people are easily one of my favorite new species since the Disney acquisition lol
I like that the Night Sister henge had several directions marked. Perhaps implying that they have been to many other galaxies.
Honestly I never thought of Thrawn's troops being "undead" It makes perfect sense now that I see it.
There's something really great about the fact that it was David Tennant who was the first person in star wars media to say the line.

Literally haven’t been this jazzed for Star Wars since that period of time after The Force Awakens / Before Last Jedi. This show has got me extremely hype for the Heir to the Empire movie
Ezra got that facial hair like Suraj from the Normies. Looks great!
Enoch is freakin Amos from expanse. He went from a 10 to 12 with that fact alone. This episode was better than 5. Incredible.
Skoll and Hati are in norse mythos as two wolves who are hunting the sun and moon and when Ragnarok happens they catch them finally and it's said the sky and earth go dark and collapse. A VERY cool niche reference, and seems to be lining up with what Skoll is saying throughout the episode when he's talking about his goals of ending the cycle by claiming a great power and such... They're the two most interesting characters in series for me as much as obviously others are super cool and I'd like to know more. Something about Baylan and Shin is SO compelling.
My Theory - Dave is gonna tie in the missing character from the Mortis arc, Abeloth aka The Mother. Instead of using black holes to imprison her, she was imprisoned to a different galaxy/ this galaxy and Abeloth could explain where the Night Sisters get their magic from and also the greater power Baylan is searching for to bring back and destroy our galaxy.
I seriously hope Baylan's story arc is somehow finished before the season concludes. He and Shin are the most captivating part for me, and there's absolutely no one who could replace Ray Stevensen in this role.
Cant wait to see how powerful Ezra's become, and if we get to see him use his lightsaber in live-action! They really nailed the casting on Thrawn and Ezra, cant wait for next Tuesday!!!
Can I also say I need a Tales of the Jedi series 2 and for it to include Baylan and Shins backstory I need that. It’s only downside would be no Ray Stevenson what a man he’s done an incredible job

The fact Baylan feels something , and how the Nightsisters wanna get off as soon as possible, could there be a bigger threat lurking?
Been here since you guys started reacting to Rebels. I grew up loving star wars alongside you guys, through all life's ups and downs. Now I'm a senior on college, and I feel like a little kid again watching you guys react to this! We are so back and I'm ready for this show to continue Rebel's legacy and start something new!!
Yay!!! Been waiting for this all day..
"Aaron with no beard and just a moustache can't hurt you, he's not real" Aaron with no beard and just a moustache:
Aaron out here with the "I'm starring in Blackkklansman" look
Grown up Ezra is such a delight, I remember being super annoyed with him early on and he slightly grew on me throughout Rebels
You guys haven't seen Farscape? You'd love it. It's a bit Star Wars and a bit Guardians of the Galaxy, but with Muppets. :) So cool to have Claudia Black and Wes Chatham in this episode. Pretty much my three favourite worlds colliding.

I came here to say the same thing! I love Farscape! We should request a reaction to that show.
I love seeing you guys get as excited as me about Star Wars. Shame Rick is missing all the best episodes.

Is Rick on vacation or something? I miss him!
Seeing Wes Chatham get acknowledged makes me happy
This is why I love watching Star Wars/Marvel reactions from you guys, bc I'm normally not excited about anything that i don't know much about but bc yall get excited it makes a better viewing experience for me
22:29. You should also recognize her from Mass Effect! She played the quarian admiral Daro'Xen (the one who wanted to experiment on the geth).
I REALLY appreciate that you guys don’t put spoilers in your thumbnails like every other reaction channel! The GOAT’s 🐐
It's so funny, I just watched House of Cards season 3, and had no idea that Lars Mikkelsen was in Ahsoka show. When I saw Thrawn, I instantly recognised his face and was wowed, that he is president Petrov😂😂
Calvin: "It's a bad ( ;D) dog" Me: No its a good dog!
Maybe there will be those who make fun of the makeup, but at this point Thrawn without Lars is not the same, that presentation was incredible, direction, setting, interactions, Kiner's music, The Heir has Returned

Look wise, it's just okay for me but when the man speaks, I'm always in awe. I'm immediately sucked in that this is Thrawn. Honestly just a great choice to keep the voice actor.
Until Thrawn appeared it didn't feel real but the second I heard that voice it instantly clicked.
Loved that the hermit crab people were dressed like Frodo Baggins

They’re space hobbits, babyyyyy
Arron out here cosplaying as Ned Flanders.
I’ve seen quite a few people talk about the theory of the Night Troopers are undead soldier created by Night Sister magic. Honestly when they were chanting Thrawn the feeling I was getting was something else. To me it kinda gave off cultish vibes. Like these troopers were trap in a different galaxy and that their belief in Thrawn and that he will get them home is like what kept them alive. Which I do kinda like more than them being mindless undead drones.

Kinda reminds me of Captain Torres from Ace Combat 7. He was leading an experimental submarine when it sank to the bottom and got stuck there for two years, but, thanks to his leadership, 330 of the 356-strong crew survived. The survivors essentially worshipped Torres, and some of them even left the crew to become secret agents for him, sabotaging his enemies around the world. I imagine that a similar thing probably happened here. Thrawn is smart, efficient, and the survivors' only ticket home, so, intentionally or not, a cult formed around him.

Yeah honestly it makes sense because if they were already dead then why would they even show the dead bodies in the cargo?
This is where the fun begins!
I think the Chimaera is essentially taking the place of “Naglfar” in the story of Ragnarok, and Thrawn is being used as the stand-in for Loki who brings his ship of the dead filled with monsters to battle the gods. So it seems pretty clear that the Night Troopers are going to effectively be “wights”, and who knows what other corpses they’re raising from the catacombs. Baylan said it was a graveyard, but maybe it’s not just a place for the whales to die. Maybe the whales have been taking all sorts of unsavory types to exile and death on this planet. I think the “Naglfar” aspect is key, though. The Chimaera is now the “Ship of the Dead”, and the Nightsisters may as well be Whitewalkers.

My theory about the Night Troopers is that Thrawn has been having them fight to the death over and over again to hone their skills, similar to how Odin prepares warriors for Ragnarok at Valhalla. I think the “dwindled numbers” were probably troopers that were so badly damaged in training that their corpses couldn’t be revived by magic. I think that’s why they look so beat up, and I think that’s why Enoch says, “Die well.” I think the Night Troopers have developed a cult of death similar to Roman gladiators (hence his face mask). That’s how I would do it at least.
How that singular focus will reshape our galaxy. Wow how amazing was that!
As Ezra would say lads "You took your time!" sorry the quote might be off but watched the episode once earlier and been waiting for your reaction all day! Respect here from England!
THE COOLEST THING ABOUT THIS EPISODE WAS...ALONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY.
I refreshed your channel page so many times waiting for this video. This episode was awesome!!!
Don't know about you guys, but when I watched the Rebels episodes with Thrawn, my skin crawled every time he spoke. His voice was just so... emotionless, cold, calculating, it made me shiver. Hearing that coming out of a real life person now? Uh-huhuhuh... the creepiness has been cranked to ELEVEN!
Ezra looks so much like the picture of his dad! Thrawn knows about Baylan, but doesn't know Ahsoka. That's strange.

Well, if he knows about the jedi by reading clone wars reports it'd make sense he'd have seen a jedi mentioned if he was leading his own battalion. On the other hand since he knows Vader is Skywalker it's weird he'd not have gotten information on him that would mention ahsoka

I don't think he knew anything about Baylan. He just saw the lightsaber on his belt, and maybe Shin's braid, and concluded he is/was a Jedi.

He'll be really interested in learning Anakin was Ahsoka's master considering Thrawn fought with Anakin in the Clone Wars. Thrawn had respect for Anakin and figured out he was Vader.

@@riccardogemme Also in season 2 of Rebels, Ahsoka was known to the Empire as being alive so Vader sent the Inquisitors to hunt her and Phoneix Squadron down. I'm sure Thrawn would have heard about all of that so knew Ahsoka was a big name in the Rebellion.

@@mish375that’s the moment I’m waiting for! I hope they show him when he finds out.
The casting for Ezra is fantastic! Honestly, the only person I’m not really sold on yet is Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera. I just hear Mary’s voice every time she speaks, rather than Hera’s. Can’t suspend my disbelief.

Its more Sabine I struggle with. I'm used to Mary as Hera now.
To see the Night Sisters and Ezra in live action was so cool.
I found your reactions when i was 22 I'm about to be 30 but i have had the best 6 years with all of you these discussions always make my work week great
Oh yeah, the relation between Sabine and the Howler was super precious, I was all here for it!
If you have the subtitles on it says that those troopers are called Night Troopers.
This episode cracked open a whole new world of Star Wars. For the first time in a while, I’m excited for the future.
I absolutely loved this episode! I felt like everything about it was so amazing. Every scene and moment was just so awesome! I thought that the writing was fantastic, the acting was amazing, and the tone was perfect. All throughout the episode I was curious about what was going to happen next and it just had me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire episode. And I feel like I can’t say enough just how incredible the music for this episode was, I’m so glad that they brought Kevin Kiner back to do this shows score. And I feel like all the performances in this episode was amazing. Each actor was giving a fantastic performance and I felt like they were all doing an amazing job for these characters. And have completely sold me on their performances for these characters. They all felt like they were fully dedicate and invested to their character and their role. Kind of a small thing but I really liked how colorful and unique looking the Purrgil’s hyperspace was. It was just cool to me that we got to see the difference between the original/natural hyperspace versus the technological version we usually see. And I absolutely loved that at the start of Huyang’s story it began with the words “A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…” Just like how the start of every story in Star Wars also begins with those words. I also really liked the design of Perida, with the Purrgil bones and carcasses making up its planetary ring, its overcast sky, the desolate landscape and the giant Nightsister statues, the whole planet just felt so ominous and dark. And speaking of Nightsisters, it was really cool that we finally got to see some of them in live action. The way they acted and spoke gave off an all around presence that really reminded me of the Three Fates of Greek Mythology. Also when they flew up to that Nightsister fortress it immediately reminded me of Minas Tirith, just another Lord of the Rings reference that I’m sure Dave Filoni wanted to put in there. Then we get to see Thrawn’s battle damaged Star Destroyer (the Chimaera) come in, and it looked awesome. I loved the way they showed it’s massive scale in comparison to the platform everyone was standing on, it made it look even more menacing. And I also really liked the design of Thrawn’s Stormtroopers, with how cracked their armor was and how for many of them it seemed like the red bandages and golden (seemingly) adhesive was all that was holding it together. I’m also very curious about this new Enoch character. Especially with why his armor and helmet look so different in comparison to all the other Stormtroopers. I definitely don’t remember him appearing in Rebels, which makes me wonder if maybe he was one of those raiders (like the ones that attacked Sabine) that at some point joined Thrawn. And for the first time in live action, we finally get see Grand Admiral Thrawn played by Lars Mikkelsen. This was so amazing to me. I’m so glad that he was introduced in this episode rather than the last scene of the next episode like Mando Season 3 did with Moff Gideon. I’m also really glad that he had a good amount of screen time, every scene he was in he just brought this amazing presence with him. And I think they did an amazing job at portraying him, I can’t wait to get to see more of him in the next two episodes. I also loved how Thrawn honored the deal between Sabine and Baylan. It just felt so in character for him to do this. And I feel like I’ve got to take a moment to talk about just how great Ray Stevenson’s performance was in this episode. He was able to give off this feeling of mysticism which made it so every time he talked about what he wanted, you became even more curious and invested in what it was. I’m very curious to learn about what Baylan wants to gain from this plant and what exactly it is that is calling to him. I also found it very interesting that Baylan says that Shin will be more, which I felt like was a call back to how Anakin said that Ahsoka was more in the previous episode. Also I love Sabine’s Howler. The way it acted and moved looked just like a normal dog which I thought was both hilarious and cute. Honestly, he’s so ugly, I love him. And those little hermit crab like creatures felt like something straight out of Clone Wars or Rebels. And there were some shots where I honestly couldn’t tell if they were a practical or visual effect, either way I liked their design. And then we get to see Ezra Bridgr (in person) for the first time in live action. I really enjoyed Eman Esfandi’s performance and I can’t wait to see more of it during the upcoming two episodes. And I loved the attention to detail of how Ezra still has the scar on the left side of his face that he got from the Grand Inquisitor in the second 1 finale of Rebels. I also really liked that he wasn’t wearing the cartoony Orange shirt that he did in Rebels. I’m so glad that they went with a more nomad looking outfit design instead. And I loved the scene where Ezra and Sabine reunited, it felt like they picked up right where they left off at the end of Rebels. Also when Thrawn said that he wanted to find out all the information he could about Ahsoka Tano, it had just occurred to me how those two were never in Rebels at the same time. It’s not really important, I just found it interesting that I only now realized this. I can’t wait to see where this will lead into next week’s episode. I am very curious to see how the ending of this episode will lead into next week’s episode and how it will impact the future of this show and its continuing story. I can’t believe that there are only two episodes left of this fantastic series. I am still loving everything about this show and I can’t wait to see where this story and all the characters involved will go next. I cannot wait for next week’s episode. Rest in Peace Ray Stevenson
If it was in her head, how would she know what Luke told Anakin in Return of the Jedi? He referenced it directly. He also didn't recognize The Siege of Mandalore
It's nice to see Aaron embrace his inner Jacques Cousto
Ezra is casted perfectly. Hands down! And I love Thrawn's introduction. I also love the fact that he decides to seek aid from NIghtsisters; people that use some mystic connection to the force. I'm reminded of his line to Ezra in the Rebels finale "the force is an enigma to me", and it's when the force intervenes that thrawts Thrawn's plans. Nice bit of story telling for the Rebels fans.
Aaron looks like he sings songs about how much he loves technology
Dont lie, we've all been waiting since we watched the episode ourselves for this reaction
