I love this rendition. I want to request that advertisements not be inserted into the middle of the music. It is truly a rude interruption and frankly makes me feel more like avoiding the products advertised than using them.

What a huge loss! 😢 The world will always be greatful and happy to witness what you ever created to our music Ahmad! Rest in Peace Lord Jamal! 🕊️
I can't believe he is 87 !!! He plays the piano so awesome and elegantly. No signs of arthritis in his hands. What a blessing. He looks like he is in his mid 60's.

I agree! He looked decades younger as a mature man. I've read that pianists rarely develop arthritis in their hands/fingers precisely because they use their hands so much. "Use it or lose it!"

Dave just has a smile from ear to ear as he watches Paul play... or whoever he is turning to watch while they do their thing... can't help but smile seeing that.. You can tell its a genuine smile too... Just enjoying the hell out of what they are doing

Ahmad Jamal: the master of elegant restraint...Thank you for all your beautiful music, and for doing it into your 90's! RIP ❤ 🎶. I can still remember my dad playing "Live at the Pershing " 60 yrs ago (!) and "Poinciana" clear as can be. It's like time travel!
This is probably the greatest version of Autumn Leaves I've ever heard!
Thank you for your outstanding and excellent music Ahmad! You will not be forgotten. Rest Brother Ahmad Jamal!
I was fortunate to marry a woman who had an Ahmad Jamal record in her collection back in the sixties. We're still happily married and here I am with the rest of y'all, just sitting back and enjoying it all. Thank you, Ahmad Jamal. Yeah, we still have that 55 year old record.

What was the name of the club?
He was a dear friend of my mother who I was privileged to meet and see live on a few occasions. Truly one of the most astoundingly skilled musicians I have ever witnessed. The communication on stage between Ahmad Jamal and the musicians he played with was supernatural. The absolutely true, and pure love that flowed from the piano out to the audiences I was part of flowed out, and over, and around us with a harmonic embrace of warmth, and taste, and care and so much more. He treated his friendship with my mom in the same way. He was simply the embodiment of the divine music he created. There are no real words to explain. I have never encountered another musician who exuded the magic of this genius and kind, gracious, amazing soul.

The man, the myth, the legend !! Ladies and gentleman, Mr Ahmad Jamal !!
He and his entire band is off the chart on this one!! It's like Ahmad's fingers are instruments on each key...genius!! Love the percussion jam.....ahhhhhhhhh...........awesome!!!!!
I saw this wonderful man in concert 10 years ago (Feb.2013) in France. The whole theatre was hushed as he played; in reverence it seemed. And no wonder. RIP.
Blessed is the man who loves what he does. At time he looks like he just discovered something new and the joy in his face is priceless. The whole band is just a joy to watch.
I was lucky enough to hear lawns played by Carla’s final trio at Blue Smoke just before Covid closed the club down & just before her passing. Rip Carla…. thanks for this & a lifetime of beautiful, original music.

Ahmad Jamal, is simply the don of music for me- a creative spirit being unleashed in all its magnificence! The fusion of the African heartbeat, the tantalising breeze and inherent complexity of Jazz and classical inflexions floats my boat big time! Thank you, brother, Ahmad Jamal! Genius!

60 yrs. of memories, thank you Ahmad.
I first heard Jamal in 1957 and instantly liked him and have seen him perform two other times between now and then. I wonder if he has found the fountain of youth.
Awesome. Ahmad is just awesome. A lifetime of jazz in his fingertips
He has played "Autumn Leaves" in a Latin beat since the early Fifties. He plays with this group* since the mid Eighties. This is the purest Jazz tradition in the hands of the Ahmad Jamal Quartet!! *AJ (P), James Cammack (B), Herlin Rilley (D), Manolo Bandrena (D)

Thanks for the info - that means I that the only time I saw him live, back in 2006, he had Cammack on bass and Rilley on bass & drums respectively. But my recollection is that there was no percussion on that particular it was just piano trio.

That song was SO POPULAR in the 50's done classically. I discovered Jamal about that time and have probably listened to every cut on uTube over and over, never tiring of any!! His 'genius' is never predictable with the perfect harder crescendo in the best, unexpected places. His group is so in tune with him, all super talents as well. No showboats in that amazing put-together team!! I would love to see a 'live' practice just to see how they do all that!! I also am a little older and thanks to loving this type of music still have not too bad of a hearing loss (I think- ha).

Why do we find beauty in Music, here the answer ! Thank you so much Ahmad Jamal and his band, wonderful break !
Interprétation de génie, raffinée, les feuilles mortes vivent plus que jamais sous les doigts de Ahmad Jamal, puissante improvisation.... Mille ****** / Ahmad Jamal
Only Ahmad Jamal appears with a work like this with Autumn Leaves and the beauty of it all is he gives freedom to his percussion and he seems to flow with those guys. Very cool.
YT has had this in my recommended vids for almost a year. Wow! My mind is gone...When he started playing Stolen Moments, lost it! I'm gonna go get his last album and see what else is there. I've know his name for quite a while but never heard him play. Glad I listened this morning, what great song to start your day off with!
Ahmad Jamal is a player who puts his soul, great joy and command into his playing. Very inspiring! His colorings are masterful.
I saw him back in 1976 in vancouver, canada and he is playing as strong and in incredible health as he was back then. What great artist!

My first time hearing this person play, I was 8 years old and my cousin had the Album" Ahmad Jamal Live at the Pershing" his songs were "Poinciana, " "But not for me", Moonlight in Vermont" and a few more , from then I was hooked unto Jazz!!
Love him so much! Hoping to see a live performance this year!
I have played this almost a thousand times (really) but tonight I was saddened deeply by the news of the the passing of Ahmad and wish i could have seen him perform live.

Great to see him playing after I had seen him live 7 years ago in CA festival. Really has all the nuances of his career.
Приятно душе от исполнения темы "Осенние листья" Ахмадом Джамалом, одним из последних могикан кагорты классиков джаза (JI). Спасибо

Nice seeing him again and still active. I think of him from time to time... "Manhattan Reflections" and the "Awakening" albums were my favorites as a teen.
First time to hear him. A master maestro! Amazing rendition.
This is pure magic! The feeling of absolute freedom of thought and the ability to perform what he has in mind - this is mindblowing!
My jazz band in Nashville played this song last school year. I loved playing it then, I love playing it now. This is personally one of the best versions.
I have always loved his piano playing! His intro is amazing 😮👍🏻👍🏻
