    I was an infantry officer in the first Gulf War. The meanest piece of equipment I saw the whole time I was over there was the Apache helicopter. Oh, my, what one of those things would do to a tank! And we were so thankful for those pilots and fire crews.

    Those rounds are almost the size of a beer bottle.Must really really suck being on the receiving end. Man I love the AH-64 what an awesome piece of military hardware!

    30x113mmB, a fair bit shorter and about half the diameter, so something like 20-30% of the volume of a beer bottle at a guess. They're pretty big, but to get to beer bottle sizes you should look at the 30x173 mm from the GAU-8 (still smaller in diameter, but much bigger overall). Both are 30mm, but the 30x173mm makes the 30x113mmB look like a pistol cartridge, kinda like .50 BMG vs. .50 Action Express hehe. =) Beaut of a platform though, love the Apache.

  • @Spyderz-xo9rz

    @jubuttib Now what I ment what the height.The diameter was smaller thats for sure.But the Apache is my favorite weapon platform.If we would have had those in Canada you can bet your ass I would have been one.Therebis something about that helicopter. From the front end its looks so menacing and agile like a peragrine falcon swooping through the air ready to attack at a moments notice.But ya I would not like to be on the reveiving end of one of those. "Collateral Damage" on youtube demonstrates this very well.And while they kill civilians holy fuck there was nothing they could do but be annihilated.

  • @jubuttib

    @jubuttib

    @@Spyderz-xo9rz Aye, agreed. I personally think it's a bit too boxy looking to be a peregrine, I'd reserve that to the smaller, svelte things like the Comanche or the Chinese Z-10, but the AH-64 definitely looks like it means absolute business. =) EDIT: Been a ton of fun flying it in DCS World, just a shame the version we got lacks the capability to mount Stingers.

    only the fuel cells have a self-sealing activator if they are struck. If the engine gets hit and it penetrates through the turbine case, then yes it will pretty much destroy itself. These engines run at about 20,000 to 23,000 rpm, you throw a little piece of metal in there where it's not supposed to be and it can be pretty catastrophic

    Tanks if they are supported by a good team of radar operators and some well protected sam units on station they can easily counter attack helicopters. The United States has really never had to fight a country that has a capable compared military except world war 2 , so I wouldn't really put much faith in an attack helicopter if the enemy it's facing does have a sufficient counter to it like Sams . Anyway most militaries are extremely dependent on electronic systems and missiles along with satilite technology However if the electronics can be jammed and countered it would render vast amounts of the modem military useless in that case countries that have kept an older style military would have the upper hand if they had enough military equipment that didn't require electronics to operate .

    They've been upgrading older models. That's generally what's been happening with a lot of aircrafts of war. We probably wont see too much production of brand new stuff until times of war. I'd rather there not be a WW3. But assuming everyone didn't just nuke each other at the beginning it'd be interesting and probably terrifying to see what new weapons of war the world would start to come up with. All these advanced aircrafts and etc that we have now are all thanks to war.

    What he talks about is true. The Iraqis made a very smart move and hid inside the city (of Nasiriyah I think). Then the Americans had to get closer to find and engage targets, so they ended up falling in a fire trap with tons of 12.7mm guns firing at them from all directions. They didn't take a single Apache down but damaged them enough to force them to return to base.

    Daddy Dog loves when I watch anything having to do with this bad ass bird. I get in attack mode just looking at pictures of it. Never surrender and take no prisoners. We're here to fuck till somebody faints. I Gotta go now. Daddy Dog is waiting. Got nothing on but his hat and spurs. God, I love those damned spurs.

    Well there is only one video featuring a Ka helicopter and it's the Ka-52. And, Russia has been using very old bombs and missiles throughout its campaign in Syria for the most part.

    So you are bringing out state-of-the art Kamovs with obsolete armaments? OK then, at least their "3rd" gen sensor are great, making absolutely outstanding low-res and grainy image /sarcasm. Things are tough once French stopped selling stuff to them.

    Since when did this channel advertise only western military power? Gives us more Russian/China firepower, I'm getting tired of seeing American firepower.
