I believe this song is showing how yoongi compartmentalized all of his trauma and how his alter ego Agust D was born to help him deal with all the emotions that he was going through during this time. As you can see the scar is there and is fresh, while in daechwita it is still in the process of healing will in haegeum the scar is healed and how the "new" Agust D doesn't have a scar. So in it a sense i see it has Yoongi saying that he doesn't need Agust D anymore. And this album is a way of saying goodbye and thank you to him for helping him during those times.

I believe the scar is a psychological one. Even though it is seen as a physical scar in the trilogy of videos, he’s experienced trauma in his past which created emotional and mental scars which he’s carried internally. Yoongi is an incredible storyteller, and to put all this out there, so raw and honest, making him seem so vulnerable, is so brave 💜💜

Amygdala is the part of the brain which stores the most painful memories and experiences and that we usually repress it for a long period of time.. Suga here is taking us to his past during his debut days where he got injured in the same way while he was delivering food to earn money and with all the pain endured during those days, AGUST D was born😭 that's why all the songs in his solo albums, he talks about his past, mental health and etc.😭😭😭

I dont think alot of people noticed this but after he self harms the door opens for him only to shut in his face again. I think hes also talking about the different toxic ways people deal with trauma thinking its the way, but its only making you worse in the long run.

Yoongi’s scar is a self-inflicted wound... it’s crazy bc ever since Daechwita, we always assumed it was a “tough battle scar”. When actually, it had an origin with his inner trauma... and yes, he was a part time delivery boy in the early bangtan years, bc he needed to make ends meet. He didn’t tell the company about his accident out of fear he would be cut from BTS. He told them later on, and they ofc were supportive. He didn’t get surgery until years later in 2020

The amygdala is the part of the brain that houses memories of fear/ shadows of our lives. He is showing us the part we all hide from the world. The sadness, hurts, disappointments , TRAUMAS. The beauty is all of the members so far are showing us “them”. We usually only share this part of us with the closest person to us and/or a therapist. Yes. This is about his accident that happened and caused his shoulder pain. Also amygdala is part of our brain that hold our fears or threatening stimuli . he is sharing some moments of his life that caused alot of fear and pain.

This song/mv shows his trauma and his car accident. When he was a trainee in 2012 suga work as delivery boy and accidently hit by a Car while delivering. It cause him His shoulder injury

amygdala is basically part of the brain that releases stress hormones that prepare the body to fight a threat or flee from it when u feel stressed or afraid. it also helps store memories so people can recognize similar events in the future. and u are right about the music video. it’s a recreation of his accident that messed up his shoulder. and he is trying to save himself from the room (his trauma) but in the end he doesn’t because he’ll never be able to not be traumatized by it.

The concert today was amazing, the performance he did for this on stage was so cinematic & dramatic, I loved it. So Proud of Yoongi.

THE "AMYGDALA", is a part of the brain that its primary role is in the formation and storage of memories associated with emotional events. its role is the processing of memories, decision-making, and emotional responses (like anxiety, fear, and aggression). People face things in life that sometimes are embedded so harshly inside of us, that it changes our whole life, puts us in really deep, and sad places, that you want to rip out of you or re-live them (as he is showing in the MV), but you can't. In the song He is calling to himself, to save him. It's SO powerful. Calling out to those hard times in his life that shaped him, but also bring out the worst in him. I'M JUST SPEECHLESS. It reminds me of the movie "Inside Out", where you have all of these emotions in your head, like anger, sadness, fear, confusion, and happiness, trying to take control, thinking you should be happy all the time, but at the end you understand, you have to understand, that all of our emotions live together, you can't have one without the other. I could talk about this song, video, and album, for hours. I think most Yoongi biases relate to him and his struggles a lot, personally I do relate so much. The amygdala is the part of the brain where trauma, stress, and especially anxiety, is all processed and produced to your neurons. Which is why the two parallels show one with him in the dark room (it represents being inside the amygdala I believe) then the other is where the traumatic things are happening in his past. The way he shows that he’s the one who made that cut could mean he’s blaming himself for his past because he repeats, “I hope I made the right decisions” and a lot of trauma victims do happen to blame themselves. It’s like a never ending cycle of thinking what you could’ve done to change this outcome and hating yourself for it. I also think that the scar is metaphorical, representing the things he feels he’s done wrong to himself and that’s why it shows him making it. When he’s crawling to the door saying let me out, and he speaks of wanting to erase the memories because he doesn’t want to keep dealing with it he wants to move on and that’s so hard to do which is why is shows he was unable to save himself at the end.

I think that he is saying to get out of his Amygdala(The part of a person’s brain that is basically your emotions). All of his struggles with his Amygdala(or emotions) with facing depression and suicidal thoughts and attempts, to not being able to show his true emotions as an idol and facing them alone.

It made me cry because is tells part of Yoongi's traumas Yes, the video refers to the accident Suga suffered shortly before debuting in 2012 while working as a delivery boy to pay for his studies while he was a Bighit trainee. At first, he told his group members that he had fallen from the stairs, but in reality a car hit him when he was riding his bicycle and he says that after falling he saw that his head was almost under the wheels of the car. Suga did not want to reveal the truth to the agency because he thought they would reject him, after months he had to say it because his shoulder had been dislocated as a result of the accident and did not heal well becaused of lack of treatment and rehabilitation. Eventually he told the company and they paid his treatment and his studies... after debuting, he had injections and therapies for years until he could not postpone his surgery because over time and being an idol with intense choreography, the injury worsened so he underwent surgery for the pandemic and was offstage for about 4 months while he recovered In other songs he's released in the past as Agust D, on mixtapes for Soundcloud, he talks about his depression, social anxiety and panic attacks... it's the first time he's commented on his mom's heart surgery and the liver cancer that his father had and it seems he found out while he was fulfilling his schedule with BTS (which has been very tight and demanding and he probably could not be with his father as long as he would have wanted due to being under contract and his corresponding obligations) When the wound is inflicted on the face, I think it seeks to reflect how it has hurt itself in the past (the mind of a depressed person, we already know that it hurts itself a lot and he mentioned in one of his songs that he have thought about s*u*i*c*i*d*e in the past) and I also think it represents the birth of your alter ego Agust D which would allow him to externalize his shadows in parallel to BTS When he says: I don't know your name, I think he refers to himself... to that shadow in his unconscious mind... in his song "The Last" he mentioned that his father told him they didn't know him... and he commented that if he did not know himself, how would other people would get to know him? and he also mentioned that sometimes he was afraid of himself In Haegeum, the one who is the chief of police is the one who killed the tyrant king in Daewchita, who has now become corrupted with power... For me it symbolizes Suga's shadow, which is in his unconscious mind due to his traumas and which he seeks kill whenever he feels he is taking off and gaining more power... a part of him reveals himself to the re-installation of the tyrant and kills him By the end he is rushing to save himself but he can't open the door, to my is becaused Agust D represents his traumas lodged in the past... and the past cannot be changed? Although I think that now at this moment he is more at peace with himself, it seems that during the pandemic that shadow returned for a while like many other people who found themselves in a dark place during that period but finally he was able to heal more of his wounds and that is why D-Day arrives This song is inspired by a book that Yoogi read called "Almond", is about the story of a young man with a disease that prevents him from recognizing and expressing emotions, and which is associated with an undergrowth of the cerebral amygdala, usually the size of an almond. I think he's trapped IN his amygdala...that room, he's begging to be released from his painful memories that the amygdala holds. The source of his anxiety and depression now. A constant struggle to overcome.

What I take the ending to mean is that, if Yoongi knew what would have happened to him and how much hardship it would have put him through, how much trauma, he would've never done that delivery route. But as it's said in the song - what's done is done. Nothing can stop the accident from happening because it's already happened. All that can be done now is continuing on in spite of that.

This is so hard to watch of course. The dark room is were is mind was caged (depressing mode) releaving the darkest moment of his life. The shoulder moment, self harming suicide attempt etc but the scene where he's trying to get out and he couldn't. Remind me of the only time he couldn't perform and was stuck on the bathroom floor crying and couldn't make himself live the bathroom.....

And that fact he had depression

I processed this as Yoongi is in his amygdala " that place in the brain that houses trauma" through his depression and trauma he is trapped there. because the trauma stays in the Amygdala the memories dont ever leave but you have to reconcile the trauma and move forward. He is crawling to exist another day and trying to get out of that dark place. Motocycle Yoongi is also trying to help himself get freed, but as we can see he never gets out, its a constant struggle becasue the memories are always there. I think the important part is working trough the trauma, I interpret Yoongi message as one of , Own it but dont get stuck there keep climbing , keep moving you can do it. Thanks for the reaction.

Just my theory, When Yoongi runs to open the door, i think he realised he is going into depression because of all the past experiences and he runs to get himself out of the dark place, his amygdala, but he falis to do so and goes into depression. Depression is that way, you know you are going into a dark place but can't stop yourself or don't know how to get out it. Just my theory, i can be wrong

nigel something is wrong with the algorytm on YT regarding BTS. a lot of reactors are experience the same. my algorithm show ONLY the video reactions you do for stray kids but i dont see the BTS. i also noticed that it´s the same for other reactors i follow and even reactors i have never seen before. i don´t follow straykids so i find it weird why i keep getting request for it. but then i watched a youtuber who is Knowledgeable in yt and he said that the label might pay YT more money to be recommended. but idk how it works. i started noticing it because i found it strange that it was only stray kids and not seventeen or blackpink or TXT. you would think all of them would be recommended too. i am only telling you this because many reactors has less views on BTS content at the moment because of this. idk what´s going on and how it all works but something is up. youtube also deletes views on BTS MV and other stuff but never on other groups.
