I was a gymnast. I worked with Olympians, not that I was even near their level. I met one girl. She said, in order to learn a new skill (like a double backflip), you had to do 500 reps of it.....By the time you reached rep 150 you were sick and bored of doing it.

terrible example tho of aba... clearly they are kinda desperate to get 'celeb' associations with their methods. this ain't it.

How are you doing now? Ever seen someone do some stupid shit in public? How many times after the event have you thought of it? Maybe once an probably 0. You shouldnt care about judgement but if you care. The guy judging you, doesnt think about the judgement 5 minutes later. You shouldnt care.. I used to be extreme agoraphobic too. Couple months later after lots of work i can go to the gym again en do little things. Start exposure small and gain confidence. Gain knowledge about "panic attacks" aka adrenaline rushes first. Be nice to yourself. You got this!!

For most agoraphobics, the fear is that we will have a panic attack in the elevator..far from home.

I remember seeing the twin towers in New York when I was there, pictures don't do it justice. I was in New Orleans, cool city, before the hurricane. I drove on that bridge in Minneapolis, you know, the one that collapsed. You want a real specific location? How about down town starved rock in Illinois, it's exactly one block long, I know this because I was there. Very quaint. Until a tornado destroyed it all. Everywhere I go, everywhere I've been, disaster follows. The list goes on. I suffer from long range agoraphobia, I can leave my house, but I never travel very far anymore.

@@kantraxoikol6914 Thanks for the explanation because I was baffled what was said. Righteousness should have been the clue. People are basically bad and claim it's not their fault. Bull. I have anxiety leaving my home. Terrifies for no reason. I'm an older 6 foot 1 inch, 210 pound man afraid of little that might harm me, even now. Having always been a person of reason without the grey area's anxiety attacks are more than frustrating. Since you are one of the few commenting I thought my experience might help you in some way if you have this kind of problem.

@@rubytuesday7653 Your not trolling me are you? If not I know what it's like to have a sudden irrational fear that keeps you from doing normal things. Some of the cause for me is having to take nitroglycerin for arrhythmia, angina, and nausea. Not fun getting old. Panic attacks can come out of the blue having no ryme or reason at times. Very frustrating. Hope you find a way to make it better. I lay down in a quiet place control my breathing, slow my pulse, and wait for it to pass. Same for my cardiac arrhythmia but that can take a long time. Last year I had to be rushed to the hospital in horrible pain that nitroglycerin didn't relieve and ended up getting a stint for a heart blockage. I really don't like going to a hospital and avoid it if at all possible. Take care of yourself.

ok so a widely discredited guy is giving a lecture. you think this is something to associate yourself with? and as is readily evident, he is discussing exposure therapy, not aba, so now we add deception to misrepresentation... all in the name of... what? trying to make radical behaviourism and it's niche coercive and ethically highly questionable implementation - in an entirely different area of work - look good? somehow? the idea that aba and jbp are easy bedfellows seems entirely plausible... but at least find a relevant clip. not having one yells 'needy' and 'deceptive' and 'desperate' and fires a mortar shell into the heart of any credibility aba might have. or it would if aba had a heart. which, as we know, it does not. get a real job.

An uninformed commenter leaves a message in a KZread video they're not qualified to address. They don't know how to write paragraphs... and tend to intersperse speculative questions and partial sentences followed by ellipses to indicate poorly formed thoughts... and this is supposed to qualitatively add to the conversation? somehow? At least seek to make a cogent point. Not doing so comes off as malevolent, self-righteous and troll-ish. Their lack of compassion for the human condition is palpable. Get a life.
