The final resolution of the chord to “pacem” was exquisite.

Bisogna essere dei geni dal talento infinito per comporre un brano così. Per me è uno dei capolavori della musica corale. Grandissimo Herrera! Grandissimi BYU Singers!

This is way better when I'm not sitting in the back of the balcony, my goodness this recording is so good. Everything is so good, from the lowest to the highest voices, everything is so full.

Thank you God for your great mercies for they are new every morning. In the name of Jesus Christ be saved. Tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us.

One thing I love about music is that it is an art form that only exists in one moment in time. I was in the concert hall at this performance, and was blown away by this piece. While there is clear differences of being in the concert hall, or listening to this in my headphones, I am very grateful for this recording as it brings back the feelings of being in the hall, and, for only a moment, transports me back to that moment.

Amazing. I loved the arrangement. The unison on miserere bore a hole through my soul.

I love how this take on the Agnus Dei text takes ideas from people like Barber, Antognini, and the general classical vibe of the song, but then does something completely new and unique with the musical ideas. It keeps with the topical nature of the text, painting the pain of Christ through the interwoven dissonances and harmonies until we get to the glorious refrain: "Dona nobis pacem!" (give us peace). Well done, Ernesto! The singers already know they are good 😉

Can someone help me understand at 4:35 where the tenors seem to be going after that high note. Is this octave lower than 1st soprano or are going up into those rafters?
