A Greek Orthodox Sacred Chant to Holy VIrgin Mary
Agni Partene is a Greek Genre, a holy chant used in Greek Orthodox Churches during the time of intercession to Holy Virgin Mary. Being nothing, I was fortunate to compile an orchestration and harmony for the same chant to venerate her holy name. Inspired by a Greek Orthodox Priest/ Singer Fr. Kubarnakos NIkodimos, I could utilise this hymn for the EnChristos symphony after contacting him.
When I requested Fr. Biju Mathew, Pulickal, ( affectionately known as Pulickalachen), who is a well known lyricist in MOC has most graciously agreed to write a Malayalam version also in this session. Seeking the prayers of the Holy Mother, I started making this hymn and God Almighty has given the opportunity to present this for the Symphony event En-Christos for the first of its kind in MOC, organised by St Marys Indian Orthodox Cathedral, Bahrain. I am not certain whether I would get another chance in my life to perform it once again accompanied by a classic Police Orchestra from Bahrain and beautiful trained choir from the church.

History of this Holy Hymn
St. Nectarios was a Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church throughout the late 1800s, and early 1900s. Throughout the period of his episcopacy, he spent much time in prayer and contemplation, and dedicated himself to the monastic life. His spiritual lifestyle, and his particular dedication to the Virgin Mary inspired him to write a wide variety of religious poetry, much of which was published during his life, and after his repose in 1920.
One of the many poems he wrote is "Agni Parthene" or "O Virgin Pure". According to a tradition passed down on the island of Aegina, St. Nectarios reportedly composed the text for this poem after having seen a vision of the Theotokos in a dream where she asked him to record this poem. The original script can still be viewed on his prayer table in his bedroom at this monastery.
It was later published as a poetic hymn for non-liturgical use and private edification in his publication called "Theotokarion of Odes & Hymns for the Most-Holy Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary" of 1905, which included many other similar poems

@@SG1377 Oriental Orthodox believe (as the Greekorthodox , Romancatholics and Protestants ) in Jesus Christ as Son of God , the Holy Trinity , and Virgin Maria mother of God . These dogmas were the basis of the Apostolic Orthodox Catholic Church at 5th century AD . That's why modern Catholics are Orthodox too and modern Orthodox are Catholics also . So to be correct today we have to say Romancatholics and Greekorthodox . In the united Orthodox Church we have the first split before the Ecumenical Council of Chalcedon (451 AD) and the second split at 1054 AD.

The Greek version is the best and it is the genuine chant but this version is beautiful too
So beautiful, sung with such divine inspiration, it uplifts the soul and the spirit towards God, the Creator and the Lord of all... Thank you for this superb version of Agni Parthene.... till now my favourite versions were -Monks of Valaam -Monks of Mt Athos -Divna of the divine voice but now I must add this too.. With tears in my eyes, I thank you....

Father, This is such a beautiful chant. I'm a Malayalee Catholic and I loved the Greek and Malayalam version. It captured my soul from the moment I heard it first. Once I heard it on loop, till 3:30 am! Didn't want to stop. It moves the soul, brought me to tears..Please post the Greek lyrics, in English, so that we can all sing it too. Wonderful orchestration. You've sung with such feel, that despite not understanding the Greek version, it tears through the soul. Won't ever stop listening it. My favourite song for the night! Or for that matter for anytime. I am from Ethiopian orthodox and I want to say a few word Indian Orthodoxies you are a feature of India. there are millions Orthodoxies and you can be disfavoured by other religion followers but that makes you strong. We can take Coptic's as example before 97 years the percentage of Coptic's in Egypt is 0.2% but know a days the 10% of Egypt's are Coptic's steel Coptic's church is burn but it makes them strong more. Malakandria orthodoxies you are the chosen ones. Please reply for me orthodoxies I want to talk with you👼👼

I always love to listen to the orthodox chants even I am not a christian. It has an essence of ancient east and the wisdom. Best version of this rendition is always the greek

Τελικά όταν παντρεύεται η Βυζαντινή Μουσική με την Δυτική Μουσική το αποτέλεσμα είναι πάντα εκπληκτικό. Ευχαριστώ πολύ για την εκπληκτική ερμηνεία από τον Ιερομενο, την Ορχήστρα αλλά και τη Χορωδία. Από τα πιο κάτω σχόλια φαίνεται ότι η γλώσσα του κειμένου του Ύμνου έρχεται σε δεύτερη μοίρα.

Abraham Mani tell me who is really following Jesus here. Did you sell all your wealth and distribute to poor as he said? He said that too !!! And go around the corners of the world to preach Gospel to those who have never heard of Christ and salvation. Unless you do that you can’t judge me or anybody. He also said .... do not judge .....FYI I was baptized in the name of Father Son and Holy Spirit as an infant. My faith will save me and my Jesus is with me all the time. Mother Mary’s prayers are my comfort ! Hallelujah! Good bye
