She is truly at her strongest when she plays voluptuous, independent, complex, and emotionally-thrilling vamps such as Carmen, Venus, Santuzza, Amneris, Eboli, Giulietta, and Dalila. I also enjoy her in more visceral roles such as Kostelnicka, Kundry, Lady Macbeth, and Ortrud, despite her being offered these roles and called them off.
