Installed the new spare tire bracket on our 2024 Ineos Grenadier! This bracket scoots the spare to the right of the door and aft to allow fitment of a larger tire, to clear the rear cargo doors, and to flip the tire around to face forward. Made of solid billet aluminum, this piece is extremely robust, built to withstand the abuse and demands of serious Offroad! Checkout @bodhigrenadier on IG for more photos, videos, and content!

Seems well thought out, but how do you get that tire on and off. lifting it is a great way to do in your back?

@@Bodhigrenadier it's pretty neat. I've seen Blacksheep and Letech in Europe come up with the same solution and it works well. They also have a nice solution for a replacement rear ladder that integrates a spot to fit a jerrycan under the ladder you should check that out, maybe there's a similar product available locally to you if you're interested in that

@@floofy117 yes very similar. The @agileoffroad piece is made from billet aluminum however and over engineered. Though the solutions offered overseas are probably sufficient for their level of trails, they aren’t quite up to par for the west coast trails in California, plus they’re cost prohibitive.

What type of stress testing, static and dynamic, did they do to ensure that the door can actually handle the not so insignificant weight and leverage increase from the heavier tire mounted further away from the vehicle?

I am uncertain what testing they did outside of CAD and offroad testing. They may have done some load testing but that would be more of a technical question for @agileoffroad. But logically, the center of gravity of the wheel was only minimally pushed aft ward to allow the wheel to be flipped around. The bulk of the weight is the tire, which is 67lbs. The wheel is 35lbs. The stock configuration was 85.9pbs. That’s only a 16lb gain. Aside from this, if you saw how the interior of the door is built you’d understand how robust it is. Now if we were going to a 37, 38, or 40, then we’d definitely need a replacement hinge mounted bracket or bumper mounted tire swing. The difference between a 265/70 and a 35x12.5 is not huge!

Why would it leave a billet imprint in the door if the factory steel mount is still there? And why would I back into a tree, this isn’t my first rodeo 😂😂😂

Having seen how that rear door is built I might be more worried about the tree.
