The crazy thing about it is they chased allardyce because of his perceived style of management and persona and brough rafa into worse circumstances with no money who actually does play negative football and is more toxic to most fan's as a personality.

@@davidknight2104 mate the thing is it really doesn't matter if Newcastle go down, because you know they can and will buy their way to success in the next 5 years. Unfortunately that's one of the sadder parts of football now that money controls success. I'm sure it's OK when it's your team that gets bought out by a billionaire consortium or unlimited oil money, but for football in general its not ideal. I mean you still need an astute manager and players that want to be at the club, but even with issues you can still be a top 6 club with enough money. Look at man utd, even when they are shite they still remain in the top 6. I'm Leeds myself so maybe I'm just a bit salty to see villa go out and make moves in the market when we can't, but Newcastle are just in a transitional period now and whether you go down or not (which is unlikely tbh, buying Chris Wood was basically to relegate Burnley more than anything else imo) you'll be competing with man City in 5 years without question. I don't think it's even a doubt

As much as this an amazing contract fid Rafa. It ranks number two in my knowledge inthe sports world. I remember the Totonto Raptors re-signing coach Butch Carter to a five-year five million dollar contract. With in a half-season he started saying a lot of insane things that got him fired. He never coached again as far I know but I hear him on the radio regularly and the man is perfectly sane. Best retirement plan ever.
