Your welcome. I used to get green coconuts from landscape crews, also I would go to certain beaches and knock a few down. The brown ones you just pick up when they fall if you know where the coconut palms are. The store is your last method but I never recommend because they are never the same.

Thanks, by the way so many people opt for young coconuts, I would have always skipped over the brown ones, when they're heavily abundant here (I've never found a young coconut anywhere). Way more meat in them too.

Thank goodness I brought a brown one from walmart the other day and decided to see what it really tasted like and turns out I think it's bad because it had a chemical smell and I tasted it and I was disgusting

Are brown coconuts matured than green ones

So I got 3 coconuts and 2 have a weird smell inside of coconut looked good but a weird taste..how can you tell if coconut is good?

At my local Walmart they only sell brown coconuts 😭😰😰😰

That might be because you're used to it. People whose bodies are not used to drinking a lot of it CAN get bad diarrhea from it, this is pretty well documented. Most local food is tolerated better by the locals than it is by foreigners because your gut biome changes in response to the types of foods you ingest regularly, and if you have too much of something that you aren't adapted to eating, you can absolutely overwhelm your ability to digest something. So, yes, you probably can drink all the coconut milk you want without issue, but this video is for people who know so little about coconuts that they need someone to show them how to open and eat one :)

The liquid in the brown coconut has to be discarded.
