In this video we will go over how to set up and calibrate your MC Series three point from Ag Spray Equipment. First and foremost, please review the owners manual before beginning any setup procedure. Remove the pump and torque bracket from the carrier and connect it to your tractors PTO. Be sure the speed coupler snaps in place. Then using the provided chain, secure your pump to the tractor’s drawbar or manufacturer's provided hitch point.
Lower your tractor’s three point arms and slowly back up to the carriers pins. This tractor and three point have category 1 pins. Attach the three point arm to the pin and secure with a retaining clip. Repeat the process on both sides of the tractor and then move onto connecting the top link bar. Once the pin is through the arm, secure it with a retaining clip. It is now time to adjust the height and level out your three point by adjusting the top link arm. Raise your three point to the desired height and adjust the arm until your carrier is level. The most common spray height is 30 inches.
Unfold your boom and check the nozzle bodies and hoses to make sure they are tight and secure. Each nozzle body on this boom is equipped with a 10lb check valve. This ensures the tip will not continue to drip once the pressure in the line is shut off and drops to 10 PSI. The tips we are installing on this boom are AIXR11003 tips. Consult your rate chart to determine proper application rates.
Check the inside of your tank for debris. If there is something inside your tank, use a shop vac to remove any foreign objects to avoid plugging your screen. Check your screen to see that it is clean. Check to see if the strainer bowl has a gasket and then reattached the bowl to the strainer head. The valve next to the strainer is the main valve and should be opened once you are ready to spray.
Fill your sprayer with a few gallons of water so you can run your tractors PTO. This will allow you to check for leaks and set your desired pressure for spraying. In this scenario, we want to spray at 30 PSI while driving 5MPH to achieve 15.4 gallons per acre. Allow your system to build pressure and then turn on your boom valve. Your pressure should drop. Then adjust your pressure relief valve to the desired PSI.
These are the basics of operating your new MC Series Three Point Sprayer. For more information such as how to convert a manual section control to electric controls, consult your user manual or reach out to one of our Ag Spray Equipment regional locations or dealers for additional details.
