    To my taste, these have the best FR graph I've seen. As you describe a "bass boost", and an almost flat mids... this is how it should be done since mids are the frequencies most easily assimilated by our ears. I don't get why people like Harman tuning... great review!

    I think harmonish tunings can be good if they tame the upper mids/pinna and go with a gliding bass, or dip it around 300hz rather than 200hz.

    Hi, very good video, it really helps us judge different IEMs sound. It will be really helpul and interesting if you make comparison/upgrade video for new enthusiast in this hobby like me. Where what is the jump from basic IEM like CHU, Zero 2, Warner to something middle ground Delci, Explorer to higher budget IEMs. I understand more money doesn't mean better audio as I was shocked when I listened between Moondrop CHU ii vs Truther zero: blue. Truther sounded pathetic to me.

    Thanks for your comment; that's an excellent suggestion. Are you suggesting a comparison video between budget IEMs and higher-end models? Or perhaps discussing when to upgrade to better IEMs and what differences to expect? As you mentioned with the Moondrop Chu II, more expensive doesn't always mean better; there's definitely a point of diminishing returns to consider.

    That lower gap in the upper treble is perfect for loud volumes. Because at loud volumes only the upper mids and treble shoots up. Most reviewers dont test at high volumes when people that like metal and rock they always listen at hight volumes. Thats why i retuned at least 80 sets because the mid bass if its low when pump the volume the sound loosed the note weigh and becomes thin and then the upper mids and treble goes up by 3db to 5 when i play at 85db and over. So this iem was made for rock people that love to boost their volumes . Simple

    Nice review. The MagicOne is one of my favorite IEMs to listen to when I am tired since the bass is BA bass which has much softer attack in comparison to DD bass. I definitely am going to purchase the Explorer. For the CKLVX CK-D41, try Azla SednaEarFit eartips to resolve the fit issue which you are having. When I used EQ to remove the CK-D41's mid bass tuck, the mid bass became noticeably muddy.

  • @apollomoonlandings

    @apollomoonlandings

    17 күн бұрын

    @@chillstep4life I would recommend the CKLVX D41 only if you like an IEM which has a bit of an earlier rise for the simulated pinna gain, or only if you are willing to use a bit of parametric EQ to tweak the overall sound signature. My EQ settings remove the early rise for the pinna gain and and slightly remove the mid bass tuck. This results in more natural sounding male and female vocals. My EQ settings also slightly roll off the deep sub bass in order to prevent the sub bass from being slightly overpowering. The D41, when using EQ, sounds very nice such that the D41 earned a slot directly adjacent to my Performer 5 in the watch box which contains my favorite IEMs. The D41 occasionally goes on sale for around $140 which is what I think that this IEM is worth. I recently saw the Performer 5 on sale for around $180. I would pick the latter if you can get it on sale and if you can afford it.

    I believe the Explorer is ideal for metal music because of the tuning of its mid-range, reducing harshness, shoutiness, and listening fatigue often associated with the genre's harsher elements. Additionally, the Explorer's small earpieces provide a comfortable fit for your ears. I use SnowyNight as a portable DAC/Amp. Great build quality, high power output, detailed, not harsh, and never gets warm. I couldn't ask for more.

    The AFUL Explorer has a more textured and detailed bass with greater slam, along with detailed mid-range and clear vocals, offering an intimate, neutral sound signature with a bass boost. In comparison, the PULA PA02 focuses on vocals but has excess upper treble that can sound splashy with rock music. The PA02 has a wider soundstage, while the Explorer's is more intimate. The Explorer is more comfortable to wear and smaller in size than the PULA PA02 and even the Performer 5. If you own the PA02, you'd enjoy the bass impact and detail of the Explorer, but if you have the Explorer, upgrading to the PA02 would be more of a sidegrade at best. I prefer the Explorer because of the sub-bass, mid-bass, and because it can maintain its clarity during busy music passages.

    The closest IEM I tested that sounds like the DaVinci is the AFUL Explorer. I have both and when I compare them side by side, they sound really close, like 85-90%.The difference is the bass of the DaVinci is stronger with better quality and the DaVinci has more treble detail. I also recommend checking out the DUNU Falcon Ultra with the gold nozzle. It comes with excellent accessories, including a top-notch cable and an additional nozzle for more forward mids. Personally, I prefer the blue nozzle. The sound quality is about 70% or more of the DaVinci. I suggest investing 90% of your budget into the IEM itself and getting any budget dongle. I highly recommend the affordable and portable FiiO KA11. It has plenty of power for IEMs, sounds clean and detailed, and is small enough to attach to the IEM cable.

  • @Atechreviews

    @Atechreviews

    Ай бұрын

    Both the AFUL Explorer and Celest Relentless have unique sound signatures. The AFUL Explorer is balanced with a touch of bass boost, offering textured bass. On the other hand, the Celest Relentless, especially with silicon ear tips, has a fun V-shaped tuning that emphasizes the upper midrange and treble. One standout feature of the AFUL Explorer is its ability to maintain a smooth sound even with harsh or aggressive music, never sounding harsh or fatiguing. The Explorer is great for vocals as they sound intimate and rich, while the Relentless excels in treble extension and technical performance. The detail retrieval of the Relentless is a step above the Explorer.

    @@marumaru5480 The Explorer excels in its sub-bass, it is more pronounced. However, in all other aspects, the Chopin shines. It has excellent treble, exceptional detail, forward vocals, and a wider soundstage.

    What are your thoughts on Aful performer 5 vs Aful Explorer? I really am looking forward to your response on this. especially the bass comparison.

    The Explorer has better sub-bass, mid-bass, and has more intimate vocals. The difference in the bass quantity and quality is night and day.

  • @Atechreviews

    @@DrinkWater713 The Explorer has better bass with greater texture and quality, surpassing the P5 in both quantity and quality. While the P5 has slightly better separation, the Explorer maintains its clarity and separation even during busier musical passages. On the other hand, the Performer 5 excels in treble clarity and definition.
