Parenting is a super easy thing to do in Aftereffects! No screaming children to deal with! HAHA. No, "parenting" is a term in Aftereffects that attaches an element/sprite (the child) in your timeline to another sprite (the parent). The child would then follow the parent's position, rotation and scale. This video also covers very briefly the idea of nesting compositions and simple scripts
