Word of advice from someone who has an interior design background, the space between the guests and the hosts is too far apart, creating that distant atmosphere. Also, the colour gives that cold effect, hence that sense of unfriendly feeling the fans are experiencing as well as everyone in that studio. You guys don't have to go back to the previous design plan but I suggest going towards a closer space for a free and less rigid interaction between people on set. Brighter colours too for contrast, please :-) We love you, ASC, but listen to your fans.

yeah when they initally revealed it i thought it was just the bare bones and was waiting for them to bring in something to filll the space but they didnt.. its so empty it really emphasises the seperation and cold feeling, in graphic design theres got to be a balance between negative or white space and positive space and that stands the same for interior and set design. most interview show have the hosts and guests pretty close, even on the same couch, to bring you in. this layout just feels like the opposite and almost pushes you away

I loved how the previous set looked a lot like a real club room compared to the new one. And I have to agree with you on how the overall scheme makes the setting look too cold and pale. I think adding a bit of warmer colors will make the set look more active and lively. And I think the space between the hosts and guests is the same as before; but there's literally nothing in between them which emphasizes the distance and emptiness. To whoever is the set designer in production, i hope they would add more accessories and props at least.

truee if they wanted a set change, maybe put a sofa instead? the guests and mcs look so uncomfortable 😞😞 i feel their stiff backs thru the screen.... if they wanted a wide space to perform they could have had that on the side or put something movable like cushions or easy-to-push-around tables in the middle right...? i feel like this is studying and not hanging out :(

Missing the signed CDs they had displayed from previous guests' visits, too - I felt it gave a family vibe/relationship between the guests and ASC.

miss the old asc, it was more fun and comfortable to watch now it seems a little bit awkward since they have to go by the script and cant be free or joke around as much

The fact that Day6 was awkward on the new asc just shows how much it has changed. There was a little interaction with Sammy, Jae, and Jimin but it was still so restricted. I hope they can loosen up and be fun like the old acs! At least I get to see Sammy more♡

I know, right? DAY6 are ASC's babies, and we know very well how they interact with Jimin and Sammy especially, yet everything here felt just... wrong. I understand why they might want scripts - often times they ran out of time or mixed things up in the previous episodes, but there was a lot of charm to it, and it felt like home. Now, one of the best things that made ASC special is gone.

Yeah I must agree that ASC is quite boring now and I’ve been a fan of the show since Eric and Hanbyul were the hosts. A lot of idols have such strict interviews as it is and ASC was like a comforting space where idols came to be themselves and fans actually had a chance to ask questions that they were curious about. I love Day6 and I got really excited to see them back on the show. It just threw me off not seeing bubbly Wonpil and Jae and Young K not speaking English so much and not seeing Jamie roasting them as usual. Ughh. Bring back the good times.

@@duckcylinder9903 exactly!! Sammy is such a goof and if everything else had stayed the same and Sammy had to replace someone, people wouldn't even be complaining. BC of the scripts and how restricted they are, the MCs have no personality.

For a show that's supposed to be for international fans, there was a considerable decrease in the amount of English people speak in the show. Even English speakers like Jae and Young K weren't conversing in it anymore. The subs helped but it was still different from before when the English speakers spoke in it freely. Also, I dunno what kind of change happened, but the last two eps I watched were disappointing. SKZ and DAY6 used to be so comfortable in ASC, but everything seems forced and awkward now. Please, please listen to your fans' feedback.

wiKCed0831 yeah I noticed that too, I thought the entire premise of the show was the aspect of talking in English so internationals fans could understand, but I guess they decided to stop that. Now the show feels like any other Korean variety show where the guests and MCs occasionally talk in English.

Yeah, before the English speakers would answer in English most of the time ig and the hosts would translate to Korean. The live translation is nice but it only translates the gist of what they're saying, so when they talk predominantly in Korean the fans miss out on a lot. Korean variety shows at least get subbes by fans afterwards. Also the others would try saying something in English here and there. There's no need for pressure for that ofc, I think some guests did feel a bit pressured, but there's no need for that - it's all just fun. It's nice to hear your favorite artists speak in a language you know. English isn't my native but it's still just so nice to hear them speak in a language I know.

The new ASC doesn't even bother to put English translation on the board anymore for the Album Story segment. If it's not going to use English more than Korean, then don't be on Arirang anymore. Might as well go to Mnet

I miss the old ASC. I miss our hyperactive cute Wonpil during ASC like before. But fortunately our MyDay president was here to represent us all 😂 Plus can't wait for Sungjin as solo guest in the future ASC hahaha

Is it me or the new version has much more Korean than before? Even the fluent/native speakers talk a lot in Korean (with the subs) but not that much in English. It was the same with Stray Kids in the previous episode and I'm a bit disappointed... It was the only show where we could listen to them talk in English (and just listen without needing subs ^^'') YoungK replying in Korean to a question from a Canadian fan with Jimin translating later creates quite the distance too O.o

As a myday, I'll take any Day6 content I can get but it's a shame the new set and format is SOULLESS. The show is called "after school club" but this is more like after school dentist appointment. It also relies more on a script and less on engagement with the actual artist which is a shame. Compare Day6's last ASC visit with this one and you see the show is really struggling to maintain it's comfortable charm. I felt the same way with the latest Stray Kids episode too. Hopefully they can make a few changes as time goes on, ASC Fighting!

Day6 is the best guest to test the new changes they made to the show with the new set, segments, added structure, cause they’re comfortable interacting with the MCs. Really tried giving the new changes a chance, watching every ep from txt. But even as I watched this episode live, there’s still some feeling of emptiness and cold vibes, and that speaks a lot when you have the ideal guests. Honestly wish for the best for ASC to go beyond its 6 years, plus woosung just joined too. So I hope it gets better

sm0rses same, was really trying to think positive about the new format and thought that this week’s Day6 guesting would bring back the feeling of how the show was before. I guess I had high expectations and was a bit sad when I was finding the show boring even if they’re my ult. That being said, still happy for all the new Day6 content that came out of this ep, I really missed seeing them on shows!!

i feel like jimin was trying to go easy on the roasting with jae since they haven’t seen each other in awhile so sungjin took all the hits 😂

I’ve been watching ASC for a looooong time because i loved how casual and friendly the show was. The back and forth between the MCs and the guests was incredible and the guest always seemed comfortable. The new ASC seems to lack all of that and it makes me really sad :( if I wanted a structured mostly Korean show I’d watch something else

Oh my gooood, I am so so sooooo happy that Day6 back to ASC. Jae obviously miss his MC place.

Loved seeing my boys on ASC again but this new format ruined everything for me. I've been watching since Hanbyul was on it and this makes me so sad...this new format and this new studio makes everything seem colder and distant. ASC is the only variety that i watched in my 7 years of being a kpop fan, if it stays like this i'll have to pass on this one too. It lost everything that i loved it for, that warm atmosphere, the MCs being friendly and funny, the amount of English they used for us international fans...now everything's gone. I hope you'll listen to us and accept the feedback.

I reeeeeally love ASC but ever since this season started it's been way to structured and cold. I miss when we focused more on their group dynamics and personality. This new set has lost ASCs liveliness. Everything seems so cold and the things to sit seem so uncomfortable. I feel that the set makes the idols uncomfortable and that in turn makes me uncomfortable. The segments also feel less personal. And lastly maybe it's just me, but ASC was a fun show to see idols try to speak in English, but I see that less and less with the new segments.
