@@thedarkside3178 stop lying, Russia refused to sell all components of the S400 ro China. Russia is the reason why China did not and will never invade India. US is unreliable.

US military hardware comes with a long list of compliance regulations, and even bigger list of dos and don'ts. That critically hampers it's usage in actual war scenarios rendering them practically useless. Russians don't have these issues.

Russia also put restrictions for usage of sold weapons. India is not allowed to use Russian weapons against Russia friends/ group. That means, India cannot use those weapons against China.

President Putin is visiting india in december , last time when he was here , S-400 deal was finalized by Modi ji & President Putin. This time S-500 and SU-75 will be on the table and india should get that both at any cost. ( atamanirbhar bharat will be compromised which is going in full swing at the moment but i have a valid reason to justify my analysis.) Or else china will make a back-door deal with Russia for S-500 just like they did by buying s-300( china purchased S-400 in black under the guise of S-300 DEAL to evade hardcore sanction coz china is not the member of MTCR like india, their official limit is to buy 300km range missile system only. Russia needs money , their people are dying from corona , economy is crippled due to european Union trade wars and china is making russia weak slowly and slowly via military weapon counterfeit advancement and President putin dont want China to supersede russia in military at any cost and they also know that china can counterfeit S-400 AND S-500 maybe not100% but upto some extent in next 10 -12years, like for example S-300 is counterfeited as HQ-9 missile system which is given to pakistan.( though HQ-9 is not so accurate and lacks in performance but still who knows whatelse is hidden in those warheads ) Also china's influence in central asia (ex-soviet states) is making impact little by little through BRI silk route revamp policy And by giving an edge to india in military arms will contain china's expansionism , also the air base jointly operated by russia india in tajikistan is a prime example of india dominance in russian sphere which russia has no issue with unlike Chinese investment in central asia . Russia has no issues with china also but statistically speaking Russia wont allow china to supersede Russia in military advancement at any cost coz China has started claiming russia-mongolian lands also as they fought over them in after indo-sino 62war, in which russia defeated china and kicked them out from eastern Mongolian border . China remembers this So My view point is that India should take S-500 and SU-75 at any cost( we will face sanctions from US i know and this is what russia wants so that we keep on depending over them for military advancements i know it's a hard truth to digest but we have no other choice while we keep doing our atmanirbhar projects silently ) ,If we deny this deal then else china will fund pakistan to buy SU-75 (4++ gen fighter) which is almost cheaper/equivalent and much more capable than JUNK JF-17 . China has recently given advance frigate ship to pakistan to give a message to india(that frigate is still weaker than Indian frigate ships lol but still we should keep our TECH superior as India and Russia are building shivalik class Destroyers and frigates. Pakistan is just a pawn which china exploits and use their resources . India has capabilities to make their own S-400 like system but INDIA needs time which INDIA dont have now after covid era. War with Pakistan in 2024-25 is possible, as in next election manifesto amit shah will mention POK , Just like they mentioned #art370 removal in their previous election manifesto . So, It is all the Game of Money , military advancements and self-interest . There are No friend and foes in this game . Just pure National Interests which are kept in mind when the deal is offered. Also just to mention one important aspect of analysis , If today China and Russia are seen together on world forum that doesnt mean they are hardcore friends, it is just vested interest that plays the game of dominance over western powers.Russia prefer India dominane over china but due to circumstances they have to align with china for the moment which they deliberately dont want. Anyways the point is .... The day China will attack Taiwan , Russia will attack eastern ukarine , they have synchronized their attacks , US/NATO is not capable enough to counter-act on both fronts specially under joe-biden. China has dominance in south china sea and Russia has massive dominance in Balkans sea. NATO cant deal two offence at the same time. That time India will take advantage of Pak vulnerability in POK . This is the only window india has. Pakistan also had the same timing(opportunity) when SOVIET Union was broken down as Pakistan was heavily funded by US in that time but Pak's foolish govt didnt not attack india in 1987-1992 when India was facing worst economic crisis thanks to congress socialist policies and our military didnt had funds while our Soviet ally was broken down at the same time . Instead of attacking directly pak funded terrorist which were not good enough to defeat army . We lost many soldiers due to terrorism no doubt but we kept our JK land intact with us. : ) And now 30years later We have the same opportunity ,pakistan is facing economic crisis , world major players are with india now, a perfect recipe . Just 2-3 more years of wait and grooming our military rapidly , and once our theatre commands are complete . INDIA is paying for the R&D for S500 OR even S600 AND S700. But RUSSIA will only sell you their stock pile of S500 when S700 is out.

USA is now in worry now.They need to build S500 like system extremely fast against Hypersonic missiles. Taiwan invasion with nuclear threat to USA to stop helping Taiwan can happen within a year if US fail to respond strongly.

My opinion is 3 follow on upgraded S-400 regiments(elements from S500 ADS as add on) would be a better option economically and a time saving purchase that would fill in some loopholes or gaps created due to phaseout of mig 21 point defense aircrafts in coming years.

I believe India should strive for Complete Self-reliance in Defence procurements. The target must be World's Biggest Defence manufacturer , which would assure External Security in any scenario.
