After Liberation: Russian Bombs Pound Kherson
Kherson was captured just one week into Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The occupiers cracked down brutally on the population. Many were tortured. When the city was liberated after eight long months, it was a huge victory. But peace still feels very far away.

Where is the graphic violence?
This journalist is everywhere. I saw her reporting from Turkey after the earthquake, she was there when a man was pulled from the rubble 3-4 days after the quake. She interviewed the Taliban in Afghanistan. Im sure she has been to Ukraine on several occasions risky her life amid the shelling. She is a very brave woman. Idk how she is able to talk to these ppl in their despair. It has to be truly difficult emotionally reporting from such places.

Exactly! Vice have this extremely brave young lady. And they also have Taji, constantly doing the silliest, gayest stuff.
I lived through an occupation for two years and I can relate to this documentary. I wish I was old enough to fight back but I was 13 years old and the terror and the feeling that your own neighbours might rat you out is unbearable. We used to keep our shoes nice next to the bed so that in case we had to run, it was the only thing that we could not leave behind. Freedom is the most precious thing in the world and most people will not understand that unless it is snatched that away from you. It is nightmare of its own to be under occupation. I wouldn’t wish that for any human being even for my worst enemy.

That dude showing you guys around the prison he was tortured in, just nonchalantly talking about it, is tough as nails. He openly resisted, took his licks, and now he gets to tell the true story of the abuses the Russians perpetrated against them, and you can see how therapeutic it is for him being able to share it with the world in his expression and mannerisms. Slavic and Baltic peoples have endured too much of this abuse for too long, it's about time they're given a chance to stand up for themselves the way Ukraine is now. I hope sincerely that they're successful in their resistance, and that those still under Russian occupation, are able to make it as painful for those occupiers as they can with the resources available to them. Never seen one person say that. Even the crazies on Reddit never claimed that it wasn't happening. They've got plenty of other brain dead takes though.

Yeah he needs the farmlands there before his people literally starve. Lol no one is talking about this, but it's the bare facts and truth of the situation. Russian farmland is the worst on the globe. There is a massive generational gap where children have not been born, this was his last chance to pull this off with the manpower he needed.
I appreciate the continued on the ground coverage you guys do - thank you.

There’s an interesting mis-translation. The Russian speaking Ukrainian woman at 17:55 didn’t say “Russians are spiteful and vengeful people” She said “These are vicious and vengeful/vindictive russians.” Small but important differentiation.
Rushits are pure evil, moreover they are proud of it. Ukrainian people of Kherson, please stand strong, they wanted to kill your light, dignity and kindness. They didn't. I wish you all to live in long awaited silence and overcome PTSR.

The last woman's testimony was heart-breaking. The Ukrainians need more long-range equipment that can intercept the bombs coming across the river and find and destroy their artillery.

There’s not really a cheap way that you can stop artillery these come at a GREAT cost
@lawrencefrost9063

@@Johnpork.0 In fact, there are practically no means to prevent artillery shells at any meaningful scale. Missiles are another thing. The Iron Dome is a good example. But that system can't prevent 20,000-60,000 artillery shells DAILY that the Russians are bombarding. Not to mention the area is tens of thousands of square miles, unlike in Israel.

@@drron5608 they're not, supporting Ukraine is an anti dictator and anti Nazi position. Russia literally has one of the largest populations of far right and Nazi groups, Russia is also run by a dictator with imperialist aims. While invading Ukraine, Russia presents their ideals under a 'Z'. The biggest differences between Russia and Nazi Germany is a weaker army and a 'Z' instead of a swastika.
