But in terms of writing Saitama has way more depth and is more of a complex character. That doesn't take away from Goku. Goku is chill and likeable guy but in terms of writing yea he falls behind.

If y’all didn’t read the manga, this is one of the most epic fights in all of anime: Saitama vs Cosmic Garou. Garou is a misunderstood kid who wants to take revenge on heroes, and Saitama being a misunderstood human who wants to avenge the heroes. This fight got badass only after Garou slaughtered Genos in front of his eyes, which was Saitamas only friend. You can see how much he cares about Genos as he actually wants to avenge his friend.

Nope. Saitama was holding genos's core because it was the only thing which could have saved genos. Genos was just deactivated. If that core had destroyed or lost during the fight, it was impossible to make genos again... This is the reason why he preferred to hold the core instead of putting it inside his cloth (shown in the manga).

For the Cameraman it's different because it seems to me that he's omnipotent and omniscient, but I don't know all his abilities, so my opinion isn't very valuable. So in my opinion, if these two characters fight, there's a good chance that the fight will last a very long time before Saitama can surpass the Cameraman. I hope this answer satisfies you :)
