I agree. MJ would end up winning 10 Scoring Titles for the highest points per game average. He beat Larry Bird 10-0 and defeated LeBron James 10-1. Michael won 6 Championships, LeBron lost 6 Championships. Of course he's the one and only GOAT!

💯Important point. Those 8 olympic prep games against the NBA all-stars...were ridiculous. I remember watching those games as a teenager and saying that Jordan was already the best player in the world and he hadn't played an NBA game yet; and the NBA was so embarrassed they threw virtually every hall-of-famer at him that they could just to try to get one win against that college team (Magic, Bird, Isaiah, Moncrief, McHale, Walton, etc.)...and couldn't........0-8.......against college kids. I think that experience gave MJ a huge advantage over most rookies as far as confidence level and play-hard level; he didn't come in believing he was better than everybody in the league...he came in KNOWING for a fact that he was better than anyone in the league.

Back in those days they didn’t even have a dedicated practice facility they rented some time in a church gym, later a college. In the “last dance” footage you can see the (formerly known as) Multiplex in Deerfield, at that time a private gym. Now it’s Sachs and where the Sky practice Then the Berto center. A dedicated place also in Deerfield, when the players all had north shore big ass houses. Now, in the city close to the stadium somewhere. Just from that, the growth of the league. From playing in a church gym to playing in the Olympics with 60 foot tall banners with his face. So much fame the dream team needed their own hotel. Such an evolution.

🐐 You know that Michael Jordan is easily the greatest and best basketball player of ALL-TIME because now in 2024, 21 years after his retirement in 2003, we are still having very deep discussions and very serious meticulous conversations about Michael Jordan’s near-perfect career in Chicago. Even that Nick Wright dude and Shannon Sharpe spend much more time in their respective lives talking, discussing, conversing, arguing, and debating about Michael Jordan’s near-perfect career in Chicago than they spend time talking about their favorite player’s career - LeBron James. Michael Jeffrey Jordan is on the Mount Rushmore of American professional sports, so Michael Jordan is VERY EASILY the greatest and best basketball player in human history. In fact calling Michael Jordan the GOAT of professional basketball is honestly a gross understatement at this point. Michael Jordan has been the undisputed GOAT of the NBA since 1988 (for 36 years and counting) and all GOAT debates have been far beneath Michael Jeffrey Jordan since 1998 (for 26 years and counting). 🐐

It is not professional and has allowed all sorts of travelling, double step back (i.e. walking), no hand checking etc its a sissy's game with a bunch of overgrown kids who do nothing but shoot the 3 and think that's basketball. No defense, lousy offense, its really boring. You want basketball, just go to the streets and watch them play.

He just stood out from everyone. He was magnificent in a way that had never been seen before. He globalized the game and he was respectful about it and for it he was highly regarded and respected also. However today's fan's because they never say him play on a nightly basis like some of us did, they quickly disregard him and the one's who admired him. He was different and he openly admitted his faults and frustrations but he never took a shot at people in front of the world, he always respected his opponent even if he didn't like him and took manners and settled it in the court not on tv or media or any news outlets at the time. That's I believe he's the greatest to do it because he did it with class and lost like a champion and won like a warrior. I remember the quote of the commercial for the longest time, " I wannabe like Mike"

Add in a 46" vertical and AIR JORDAN was rightly coined. Loved those shoes. Nike over Puma and Adidas. Who would have ever thought? 1:54 Just when you thought that another accolade and skill can’t be attributed to The GOAT - Michael Jordan. So Wardell Stephen Curry ll is arguably the greatest shooter ever, but I think that Michael Jordan may likely be the greatest double-clutch shooter ever, and that’s including both jump shots and an overwhelming majority of those unreal hang-time acrobatic (sometimes no-look) layups that he used to make all of the time. Some may say that I’m thinking about the Game 5-winning, playoff-series-winning, buzzard-beating, game-winning shot known officially as “The Shot” on Craig Ehlo in 1989….you’re damn skippy I’m thinking about “The Shot” on Craig Ehlo in 1989. Michael Jordan is the greatest and best double-clutch shooter in NBA history….and Michael Jordan likely has to be the GOAT double-clutch shooter because MJ alone is STILL known for having the greatest and longest hang-time ever in basketball history….to the point that the world called him, “AIR JORDAN”. And then you can argue that no basketball player in NBA history did more with and during their “hang-time” than Michael J. Jordan. MJ is the GOAT-gift that just keeps on giving. Smdh. 😅

Jonny Arnett dropped an amazing Jordan video and the results were really eye opening when it came to stats for Jordan. Doesnt change my mind on who the GOAT is but its still crazy to watch. You should do a vid on it brother 💯

Even if you look at the replay they give you at 6:27 in the video not only is the guard with him the entire length of the court the defender in the paint couldn’t even jump because of where Jordan jumped from. In any era nobody is keeping up with or jumping for that. Especially backpedaling that has nothing to do with the athleticism or lack thereof of the players then it’s just he’s so fast it’s a damn blur

Jonny Arnett did a great job in dissecting MJ's DPOY home blocks but his overall assessment of Jordan's steals was inaccurate due to his omission of several key factors. Jonny analysed 10 of MJ's 41 home games from the 1987/88 season (6 of these were the games referenced in Haberstroh's article) and by far the 2 biggest takeaways from his analysis were... 1. Jordan was 100% deserving of his DPOY award. 2. His block count was UNDER credited and his steals were over credited, by a very similar number. Most of us were already aware of number 1, but number 2 was undeniably the most interesting and revealing discovery in the entire video. The footage from the 10 games revealed that there were 15 occasions where Jordan got his hand on the opponent's ball, disrupting the offense and causing a deflection...Jonny assessed these deflections as 15 'possible blocks', but noted that the Statistician did NOT credit these 15 blocks to MJ's official block count. Ask yourself this question. If that Statistician was purposely inflating Jordan's defensive stats, why would he UNDER credit Jordan's blocks? If his goal truly was to inflate Jordan's defensive stats, he UNDOUBTEDLY would have credited every single one of those 15 'possible blocks' to MJ's block count...but he didn't. It's obvious to any rational person what happened here...there was no 'gifting' of steals, the Statistician clearly assessed those 15 'possible blocks' as steals and placed them accordingly. Yet, despite this obvious surplus/deficit correlation between MJ's blocks and steals, Jonny STILL concludes at the end of the video that his steals were intentionally inflated, which simply doesn't make any sense! The question is, was the Statistician correct in assessing those 15 'possible blocks' as steals? Should they have been labelled as blocks, as Jonny identified them in his video? To answer that question, research would need to be conducted into how blocks and steals were analysed in the 80's, the rules of that Era would have to be factored in and consideration given to exactly how these rules were consistently interpreted and officiated. I was watching a 1992 Bulls game earlier today and on 2 occasions Jordan got his hand on the ball in the passing lane, deflecting the ball to his teammates and the commentator announced 'another steal for MJ ' on both occasions, indicating that steals were credited to the player causing the deflection...that's not consistent with how Jonny analysed MJ's steals during his breakdown. Also, something else that wasn't accounted for in Jonny's video is the fact that the Statisticians in the 80's didn't have the luxury of relying on instant replay or multiple camera angles, they had to make an assessment from the sidelines in real time. It's highly plausible that, from the vantage point of the Statistician, some of those 'possible blocks', may have been mistakenly interpreted as steals, especially when you consider how lightning quick MJ's movements were, his hands in particular. Either way, it's obvious to any logical person there was no 'gifting' of stats, the Statistician clearly interpreted those 15 'possible blocks' as steals and that is evidenced by the fact that Jordan's blocks were under credited. BOTTOM LINE: Jordan's blocks were UNDER credited and his steals were over credited, by a very similar number...that is the crucial point here. A Statistician intent on artificially inflating defensive stats simply would not UNDER credit one of those defensive stats. Logic dictates that those 15 'possible blocks' were considered steals by the Stat-keeper, either correctly or incorrectly. It's important to note that even if Jonny is correct and those 15 deflections are in fact blocks and not steals, Jordan's official steals count for those 10 games would indeed need to be reduced by 15, however, his official block count would then need to be INCREASED by 15. So no matter what way you slice it, whether those 15 deflections are placed in the steals column or in the blocks column, it wouldn't change Jordan's overall defensive stats in those 10 games because you would essentially be subtracting 15 from one defensive column and adding 15 to another defensive column! The fact is, when you combine the total number of blocks and steals that Jonny tracked, into one single figure, that figure almost perfectly matches the box score...ergo, no evidence of stat inflation. Ironically, all this digging into MJ's DPOY season has only further cemented how deserving he was of that award. Watching those 10 games alone, the first thing that jumps off the screen is the fact that he was absolutely everywhere on the court! Closing down passing lanes in the post and the perimeter, forcing turnovers, full court pressure, half court pressure, denying the ball, a 6ft 6 rim protector with a penchant for blocking 7ft centers, suffocating man-to-man defense, exceptional help defense...all whilst carrying the offensive load for the Bulls. The speed at which he moved around the court was simply mind-boggling! His explosiveness, jumping ability, hustle, quick GIANT hands, defensive IQ, fundamentals, timing and instincts, were all truly remarkable. Add to that his laser focus on disrupting the opponent's offense and his determination to never give up on a play and you have a DPOY winner. Jordan's relentless defensive pressure meant that his opponents always had to account for where he was on the court, which led to them frequently turning over the ball and forcing difficult shots. Jonny's video correctly highlights the fact that, as impressive as MJ's steals and blocks were, a lot of what he did defensively cannot be seen on a stat sheet. This is true for any All-Time Defender. In 1987/88, a panel of 124 sportswriters and broadcasters analysed the defensive efforts of each DPOY candidate, in each of their 82 games and concluded that Jordan was the best defender in the league. Reducing his official steal count by 15 and increasing his block count by 15 would not change that, it would have ZERO impact on the validity of his DPOY award. Period. One final thing worth noting...if you read back through Habertroh's article, not once does he mention the fact that Jordan's blocks were UNDER credited in the 6 games he claims to have analysed. NOT ONCE.

Jordan was a killer and a psychopath. He didn’t just want to beat you. He wanted to humiliate you. It didn’t take much to get under his skin either. One little comment toward Jordan meant that you had chosen death. Jordan looked for anything that would fuel his fire and when he could t find anything he would make up stories in his head to get the fuel he needed. The king of GOATs for all time is Michael Jeffrey Jordan
