First thing hard to get used to is seeing MArtin Clunes smile - something he NEVER does when in character. Part of what makes Doc Martin so interesting is that he never jokes and never smiles.

I did not know Martin Clunes before I watched the first episode of Doc Martin, and am now a big fan. I have so enjoyed getting to know him via the little screen. (I am nearly 70 years). I find him totally remarkable and he is a British National Treasure. Good Luck, Martin in all you do.

British television is without compare. Keeping it interesting for nearly two decades is a feat.

Fabulous series! Martin Clune is spectacular! If ratings went down, it was due to the character Louisa. Narcissistic, gaslighting personality at its finest. Always had to be the center of attention. Manipulated situations to appear the long suffering victim. Her character was insufferably manipulative. Martin Clune's probably got tired of having to play her husband.
