After 14 Months Of Waiting Finally Got My 2022 Kubota RTV XG850. I no longer have this machine.

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Turns out this sidekick was a lemon. Bad Gas and water contamination of the crankcase oil. Recently Kubota has finally stepped up and replaced it.
First off I would look at different brands if buying a side by side. My Kubota has serious problems. After over a year of waiting with no accurate info from Kubota I finally got a 2022 RTV XG850. My dealer was able to horse trade with another dealer that received one for stock. Kubota originally said custom orders would be made first but in the end showed they were just making that up to get people to place orders. This is not the one I ordered with ATV style tires and useless in mud but that will be fixed soon with good tires on order. This is a quick first look and ride through my woods.
The only reason I choose Kubota was because of the great dealer I have.

Just got my 2023 XG 850 after about 6 mos of waiting. Ordered it with a roof, windshield and winch with ATV tires. I then Installed a front rack, side mirrors, bed liner and extra LED lights. I'm using it on the farm, for wildlife work and we are going to try some local UTV parks for riding with others who like to enjoy easy trails, good ol folks and don't need hill climbs or mud pits.

Mine has been at the dealership for a month now. Has a serious problem with fuel and water contamination of the crancase oil. I made a big mistake buying mine as they are sayimg it's normal for them if not run really hard. I see others having issues fouling plugs. Still waiting to hear what they are going to do about it. I think something changed when Kubota started building the engines. Hope you have better luck. Thanks for watching.

I did talk to them and was told all communications must go through the dealer after they finally agreed to set up a case. I asked about the motor and and was told a replacement would do the same thing in my case. These high compression injected motors blow fuel by the rings when cold and if not run hard for long periods it will stay in the crankcase. They are supposedly still testing and working with Kubota but sounds like the 400s Kubota made with Subaru engines that weren't good in cold climates they bought back. Still waiting for an answer but so far was told the only option may be switching to a Diesel. Hopefully I will hear more soon and they are working on a fix for them. Or possibly the NY farm equipment lemon law.

Thanks. I have the best dealer and the order was placed with just a price on a pad and a handshake. They fought with Kubota to hold the price and rebate on my machine and I know they will be there if any problems arise. They constantly monitored stock on other dealers because Kubota had no real info on my order and when they finally found a close match traded for it with just my consent on a phone call . I won't even go in the bigger dealers we have in the area because here I get to deal directly with the owners and honest pricing. Thanks for watching.

Folks over at Blazey are great people. Bought MX6000 from them last winter. I have the same RTV. You can “upgrade” the spring on the gas pedal using a spring from tractor supply. Really reduces the sensitivity of it. Much easier to control. Great machine overall. Two minor complaints. One. Having to wait for the rpms to drop after starting in order to put in gear (I’m impatient at times). Two. Having to put it in Neutral to start the machine. Be sure to put it in neutral prior to shutting off. If you don’t and you park on a hill it’s really tough to get it back in neutral to start.

Actually the grabbing calmed down after a couple hours of use. It's pretty smooth now. I think it took a couple miles for the new belt to break in. That neutral thing is a pain but I guess it's for safety. Mine runs rough for the first couple minutes and then smooths right out when warmed up some. I added the glass windshield and a winch now. I am working with Blazey trying to get the heavy duty front springs to keep it from bottoming out. Kubota shipped the wrong springs that I couldn't get working on the strut but its the number they list. Blazey is great and has a case filed with Kubota for that. Jim is the only reason I stick with Kubota. He takes customer service seriously and always takes the time to say hello. Thanks for watching.

The wait for a Sidekick in Mt. Vernon, OH (Fackler Kubota) is 2 yrs , minimum. They had a 10% price increase in January for those of us on the wait list and won’t honor the price for folks like me who were on the list prior to the price increase. Sad.

That's sad. My dealer actually gave me the discount, previous years price, and rebate that had expired. He worked with kubota because of the order was placed in their system when I signed the paperwork. Just being on a waiting list probably would change that. My dealer had 2 last visit. 1 orange that was my original order and one of the tan special editions. I think they are gone now though. I understand they are concentrating on the higher dollar diesel models now that mostly go to commercial accounts. Have you talked to different dealers in your area? I know our food bills have almost doubled the last 2 years and can't imagine the cost increases to manufacturers that get passedon to consumers. Sorry to hear this because we love ours. It's total junk. These engines have a serious problem with gas contamination of the crankcase oil. About 8 ounces in 10 hours on mine. Spent 10 weeks at the dealer this summer and still having the same problem. Kubota says its normal if it's used around a homestead and not run hard all the time. Apparently the Subaru engine was designed for a different application and for some reason Kubota put it in these. Dealer says He knows its a problem and there is another with similar issues in the area but there is no fix, best to sell it. Well with $18k in it I am really pissed at this point. Guess that's why there are so many low hour ones for sale these days. I definitely wouldn't buy it again or recommend any Kubota products at this point because they really don't care.

You could see the oil level go up and it gets very thin and gray with the moisture it also collects. Runs, oil pressure drops after a while. They had the oil analized and said its very concerning but normal if not constantly run hard. Kubota support really sucks.

When Elon Musk decides to do a Tesla version of your RTV I will get one even if it take forever to pay it off. 🤣 Have you seen the Tesla Semi truck? The specs on it are mind boggling.

I can see you zipping around your yard at 100 mph with the wind in your hair when you really should have been weed wacking. I tried to get on the cyber truck list but didn't know if I would live long enough to pick it up. That Semi factory is awesome but where is all the electricity going to come from?

Boy that stinks. Hopefully your dealer has Kubota engineering involved by now. There has to be something causing it. Hopefully they get it straightened out for you.
