Africans, go home!! - A black man shares his experience of Estonia
I visited Estonia, a Baltic country in Northern Europe and formerly part of the Soviet Union. An intriguing country that has been under the rule of numerous foreign countries; notably, Germany, Sweden and Russia. I was curious to know how it feels to live in Estonia as a black African.
In this video, I meet up with a Nigerian brother who shares his experience living in Estonia; while giving me a tour of Tallinn, the capital city. I hope you find it useful...My name is Mickey....Keep Watching!!!
Every country has a story; so does its people. I get to travel and visit different parts of the world due to the nature of my work, so I take viewers with me in the form of vlogs to explore and tell beautiful stories of the people and the places that I am working.
I am dedicated to provide deep, meaningful and entertaining contents for you, my viewers....
So enjoy!!!

All I can say shame on the African leaders that are so corrupt and not doing anything to help their citizens for Africa have so many brilliant people that want to make a positive change in Africa but with the evil corruption that is going on explain why so many want to leave. My mom (unfortunately) is quite racist. She says black people scare her. Sometimes she even refuses to get on the bus with 'em... I always argue with her that it is nonsense, we all just people. But she is elderly, and... very stubborn, stuck in her ways of thinking. I think the younger generation are generally much more open and welcoming.

@@MickeyAgyei I doubt it is possible as long as Russia exists. I mean, it is less then two years since Russia literally demanded from US and NATO ( though they do not have any say in that) to "give" Estonia to Russia or they would start a war. They were fully ready according to state of Pihkva regiment to start a war with Estonia after three day success in Ukraine and Tranistria. I and many Estonians were mentally ready to die at the beginning of 2022 in war. Even anti Estonian far right politicians were reading for Russian takeover and talking themselves into a sweet position after war. Well, luckily for us, everyone underestimated Ukrainians and greatly overestimated Russian military. At current point, Estonia has never been more militarily secure as now.

What advice could you give to Estonian women or even other European women and American women? Is it true that most African men have multiple wife’s or families that they must hide? My X son in law is from Zambia…as soon as he became a citizen of our country, he was not discreet and disdained my daughter. We know we were used, but should there not be a modicum of gratitude shown by the person seeking asylum or citizenship? Is there a warning you could give?

People marry with different intentions. It's everywhere; even in Africa. It is up to all of us to make sure people come into our lives with genuine intentions. On the issue of African men and polygamy, it's not everyone who does that. In fact it's not common where I grew up. I'm sorry for what happened to your family.

@@robinrainmaker7232 I'm terribly sorry you had to deal with this. I'm a Nigeria living in Lagos, so I can only speak for Nigerians largely. To answer your question, most young people these days are tilted towards monogamy, but also, a lot of young persons are unmarried. in 2020, the population between age 16 - 35 was about 93 million, and about 60% of that number were unmarried. So i don't think it is correct that African men have multiple spouses. The GenZs don't even want to marry at all. However I understand the primary concern of your question is how to avoid such marriage scams. I guess one way is to insist on seeing, or at least, interacting with the Man's family. In Africa, we believe that in a marriage , it is the two families (bride and groom's) that get married. There is usually an elaborate celebration involving the extended families. Also, i think background checks could be helpful too; social media, friends of friends etc. I think i should conclude that in my experience, when people get married just to get a passport, the spouse is usually in on it. almost like a financial transaction and they get paid for it.. But in your case, it seems like the groom was a manipulative and evil person. But more importantly, there are waaaaaayyyy more genuine Africans who do not do such disgraceful acts. The genuine outweighs the deceitful by a large margin. Again, I sympathize with you. What is the law like in your country? can you report such case?

@@MickeyAgyei Enjoy the current situation. In Soviet times, the borders were open only towards the republics of the Soviet Union. Traveling to Finland, Sweden and the rest of the free world was almost impossible. Without invitations from abroad, without a visa, without a travel permit, without school or work recommendations, etc., it was completely impossible. You couldn't even travel to the Estonian islands without the corresponding permit (the islands belonged to the border zone and it was believed that a person could try to escape from the Soviet Union through the islands). Soviet borders were strictly guarded.

It's hard to rid oneself of past, painful experiences but repercussions can also be detrimental. I liked the merchant guy, at least he was keen to share his knowledge. Suggestive that not all are inward-looking. The yger generation have the benefits of social media & hopefully, time will tell. Would've liked to learn about how Africans socialise. Have they formed distinctive communities based on one's country. Do they hv to learn & speak the language to study there? How are their chn accepted in school? Interesting place with magnificent churches enhh. Guess it ain't so different from rest of Europe. The edifices are there but hardly anyone goes to worship, except oldies. Remember yrs ago when an English colleague intimated to me that they only needed to attend church during the war. Now, no hard times so no need for God! She marvelled at our regular attendance, thought it was unnecessary. 😅😅 Thanks, it's been an eye-opener 😊 30:05

@@MickeyAgyei about religion in Estonia. Estonia is considered the least religious country in the world. we have a lot of Christian traditions, but there is also a certain inner resistance against organized religion. Christianity was brought here by force in northern crucades in 13th century. And it was followed by almost 800 years of slavery in serfdom. Estonians were not allowed to enter as a lower class in most of those medieval churches. I think many estonians would consider themselves pagans. Not affiliated to any organized religious institution. There is very little known about religion in Estonia before Christianity.

what I wanted to say, is though Estonia is the least religious country, they are not atheists. Most of us believe in God, and spirits and sacred trees. And most pray quite often. But it is something done in private at home or forests. Not in public (except once in a few years in singing festival/ laulupidu). We generally do not want a church as a middle man between us and God.
