    & now they fired Mr. Nancy for being too black in his speeches. New showrunner Charles Eglee from Fremantle who fired Mel B., Gabrielle Union, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum (who used to be married to Seal), etc. did not like the message from Mr. Nancy to Black America. The excuse is he is not in that section of the book. Uh, I read the book and Mr. Nancy is paramount to the war. He also had his own franchise called Anansi Boys. This move is an insult to all Neil Gaiman fans, the author and storyteller Neil Gaiman, and the fans of the series. He is a MAJOR FUCKING character. Now, imagine if they fired Odin actor from the book or changed his image to a chinese old woman......they would fire Eglee and his name would be mud. But it is ok to sully and distort anything representing black culture especially in America. This is the typical racist agenda seen on tv and now it is infected my beloved and cherished stories by Neil Gaiman. I will not be watching this series from now on.

    Finally!! Someone who has actually read Gaiman to bring up this point!! Let's continue the ridiculous ,baseless excuse though and ask why isn't Mr Wednesday a blonde Norseman or Tech boy an overweight ,acne -faced character ? How about Orlando writing,producing an Anansi Boys adaptation ? He wrote,developed much of his character's adaptation in American Gods.

    You would think that if they fired him because they didn’t like that he was speaking the truth, as so many are saying THEN THEY WOULD OF INSTEAD FIRED THE WRITER..... PEOPLE DO REALIZE THAT HE IS A ACTOR RIGHT? a extremely TALENTED, INCREDIBLE ACTOR I MIGHT ADD, AND I ALSO PERSONALLY LOVE HIS CHARACTER THE MOST ON THIS SHOW....BUT HE IS JUST REPEATING THE WORDS IN THE SCRIPT,,,,HE DIDN’T WRITE THEM....SO IM AFRAID THIS ARGUMENT MADE BY SO MANY...IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY MOOT, as is your claim that they FIRED THE AUTHOR OF THE SCRIPT....because he is NOT THE AUTHOR....HE IS ONLY REPEATING THE LINES THAT HAVE BEEN WRITTEN FOR HIM. Now if you were to argue that they fired Orlando because they didn’t like the character he portrayed...for the reasons you have stated...THEN YOUR SENTIMENTS MAKE MORE SENSE....IM JUST LETTING YOU AND OTHERS THAT YOU WILL BE MUCH MORE CONVINCING IF YOU MAKE YOUR REASONING ACCURATE....especially since I see that you have copied your point and put it on multiple videos....which is also perfectly fine..as you want to get your point across to as many people as possible....please take this as constructive criticism..at least In your case....

    Fayomi Falade Aworeni really? Hats off to him! I’m so confused as to why they would fire one of the audience’s favorite characters. They expanded Mad Sweeney’s role to appease the audience- why would they take Orlando Jones away from us!?!!? Has Gaiman spoken about this at all? He may have a penchant for Norse Mythology as a whole, but Anansi seems to be his favorite God.

    You left out Bast. But she isn't greatly featured in the show, so I guess she is easily overlooked. In the show and book Bast mostly appearance as a cat, and only really takes on human form to have her way with Shadow and heal him in the process. In the book she says she sees through the eyes of all felines. I would like to hear about Bast's real world mythology if you felt inclined cover her too.

    They are called mythological because we can (in modern times) NEVER uncover fact from fiction rather they were real (actual beings) or part of various pseudosciences/philosophies. Information has been distorted due to many different factors ranging from language to rulership influence to cultural diversity to wars. Therefore RELIGIOUS practices are made to construct the aspects of these individual deities bases upon 2 identification markers called belief and cultural origins. Thats my take on it but great video ahki.

You sold us out, we in America fought for our dignity and rights THEN sent Jet and Ebony magazines over to your continent to show you how to do your hair let along other things. And that was in the 60s. So, you learn, and now you want to act like our oppressors and change the narrative to that of you being the teacher. Screw you! Jaguars aren't from Africa. They're a South American thing only these days thanks to humans. (There's fossils of them in North America, but that's it at this point.) I'm sure someone said this before I did. That said, Leopards are from Africa and a bit in Asia. And I'm pretty sure you're telling a different story than they even tell in American Gods about Anansi. Which shows there's several stories about him. He's very old as a trickster, so this doesn't surprise me.

    I loved the novel so much and really enjoyed the Anansi Boys. I honestly can’t watch the new season now that removed Mr.Nancy because they believe his speeches are too black and they make an excuse that he isn’t in this section of the book however he is paramount in the war. He is one of the most important characters. That’s one of the reasons I love the novel. The diversity of characters the importance of different cultures and how the book doesn’t only focus on the most commonly used mythologies like Greek or Roman or Norse or even Egyptian. It focuses on multiple others including Native American and African Mythology. That’s why I just can’t watch season three. The people in charge have fired one of the most important and interesting characters in the entire story.....they also removed a bunch of other characters or the actors just left. Which makes the story change and I just can’t deal with it.

    Technically the Virgin mary could be considered a present day goddess since people pray ro her and honor her as a divine being...similar to Jesus christ. Some gods started off as humans and then later got elevated into being gods. We see this with Jesus, mad Sweeney, bilquis, Shango, Osun, Hercules and so on..

  • @123terricam

    @123terricam

    @@xaldinfash4203 she is not seen as a divine being or on the same level as jesus christ. jesus christ is seen as a god from birth.(he is seen as god's son, a demi god) osun, hercules and shango are as well (all seen as children of a god or goddess) they were in human form at some points but never lost their godhood. they were always seen as gods or demi gods. i think you are confusing them with saints or with humans that were legendary like samson, jason, oedipus, etc. mary was and is seen as human. she is seen as a person highly favored by god and respected above the saints but not above jesus or god. so she is not worshipped but highly respected. she does not and has never had a godhood. so she can't be seen on the same level of a god figure but she can be seen as a honorable figure in mythology.

    Anubis and Anpu are different names for the same god. We chose Anpu because it is the older name and the name that the Egyptians would have most likely used. Anubis is the Greek (Hellenized) version of the name. As we did research for this episode, we found that this is common with many Egyptian names. For instance Ausar, Djehuti, and Hetheru have been changed to Osiris, Thoth, and Hathor respectively. Both sets of names work and many historians use either set
