Africa Answers: The DRC, climate transition in a country which is both rich and poor

In the second episode of Africa Answers, Veridique Musambaghani from the Democratic Republic of Congo explains why it is important to look at his country when speaking about climate change. He also gives insights into why the second largest country on the African continent, so rich in resources, instead of turning into prosperity for its people, still ranks among last in the UN Human Development Index.
Africa Answers is a series by the EUI School of Transnational Governance, featuring fellows of its Young African Leaders Programme. Interviewed by their peer Silindile Mlilo, the fellows discuss crucial issues for the development of Africa.

This is such a well articulated interview, I admire Veridique's mastery of the history and present happenings of his country DRC.... Indeed there is more that needs to be done, but as somebody reminded me today, there has to be cracks for light to come through!!!

It’s disheartening to hear that the richest country on the planet is the poorest according to UN development index. DRC needs strong leadership which will be able to stand for its people and pave the way for a new era in terms of good governance and human development
