If building on level ground, do you recommend a crushed gravel pad?

That would work. Setting it on some paving stones would also work well and keep a little distance between the ground and the bottom of the joists.

Awesome all the way around. Especially in price and not needing a permit!

Would it be easy to add 4’ to the length to your design to increase living space (or something close based on the wall design)?

Adding length is easy. It's just more panels and more rafters. Adding width changes the dimensions and angles so that's trickier.

Could you easily insulate and drywall the inside?

  • @jeffreywaldman

Easily. It would just add to the time and cost. Only thing you can't get around with this design is the clear roof panels which would be a single layer. They're not insulated windows or anything.

@@jeffreywaldman I plan to by-pass the clear side windows/siding and add insulation on the inside and cover with high grade plywood.

@@jeffreywaldman would it be easy to change your plans to a 12 x 12 to give you more floor space due to roof pitch?

"Affordable" You had about £20,000 worth of tools to begin with. I have hammers, spanners, a handsaw and few other bits. I think it can still be done with a basic tool setup no?

It's $4k in tools. But I hear your point. I also had the car to get there. and the land too build on. and the food to eat in the years leading up to it. and the $300k that has kept me alive since birth. Where would you like to draw the line? What privileges of yours would you like to include or not include in the list of ALL things that make projects possible and/or easier? Just curious. You need a hand saw, a hammer, a level, and a drill. A circular saw and speed square would help speed things up. In the plans I cover essential tools and more recommended ones. A bevel gauge would help with figuring out some of the rafter angles. And some tin snips would be very useful to make your metal roof trim pretty.

This is a very high-quality well-prepared reference DVD which is . kzread.infoUgkx-b91_bYU48sOwHX-XC49tRRXRxcnOmZm Ryan's Shed Plans are very easy to read with excellent illustrations. The author does a great job of explaining in easy to understand terms at just the right level for the average do-it-yourselfer. I highly recommend Ryan's Shed Plans.
